Wall, curtains are old and dirty, and the colour inside the room is too dark. Lobby is good and breakfaswt room is not so bad. They say this hotel is going to renewal in a month. I would like to stay when renewal is done.

Good location. The hotel was clean, the staff was competent and helpful, breakfast was OK. The shower was clean but not very nice to use, even by the apparent standards of showers in hotel rooms in Italy. The hotel room and hallways seemed a little worn.

I was very happy with this hotel. The location was perfect for exploring the historic center of Bologna and it's close to restaurants, shopping, etc. The hotel has a kind of faded grandeur that might make some guests say it needs an update, but I don't go to Italy to spend time in places with cookie-cutter modern architecture that could just as easily be in the USA. The Palace has the charm and grace of a bygone era. I really liked it.

The hotel building is a fairly old structure. Even though there is very light traffic, hotel rooms are very noisy at night (windows are thin). There is a lot of dust both in the rooms and in the public spaces. The breakfast room smells bad and coffee machines are old and malfunctioning. I came to Bologna for business and I selected this hotel because it was at a convenient location but I do not think I shall ever return.

The interior of the hotel was really not worth the three stars and the price. It seems that there was no replacement of interior since 1920!

I only stayed one night but the room was better than I had expected, given some reviews I'd read. Also, my room was not on the street and so the only noise was other guests. Have breakfast elsewhere! For dinnerI had a nice meal at the trattoria just to the left when you exit the front door. Good service and nice patio ambiance late at night.

The carpets and the hotel was a little worn, but the rooms were clean and the breakfast nice. Except for some ecpected city noise eveerything was great and the position of the hotel is perfect for a stay in beautiful Bologna.

The spot is perfect, the hotel lobby is also ok (wireless only in the lobby, not in the rooms), but it's all a little bit worn out and if you happen to stay on the 3th floor (like I did), be prepared to sleep on top of a cinema. The last film ends at a quarter to midnight. But maybe it's fine on the other floors. Mind you, I was travelling alone and I think all the single travellers sleep on the 3rd floor. Just be prepared. Apart from that, the hotel was fine. Bed okay. Shower okay. Just take your earplugs with you.

On arrival, we had the impression that room 112 had not been used recently, because one of the three bulbs in the chandelier did not function and there was no soap. On the Saturday morning, the influx of guests to the small breakfast room was so great that people had to queue, and the two members of staff on duty were overworked. Apart from these two criticisms, we were very satisfied with this hotel and its old-world charm. At 90 Euros per night for a double room, including breakfast, it was good value. We would certainly stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Bologna who is looking for comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.

The hotel is very near to the most central ed important square of the city (Piazza Maggiore) and nevertheless in a very quiet (and nice) street. The Staff was kind. The hotel is situated in an old building refurbished enough, with large rooms. The common spaces on the ground floor are very large and impressive.

Palace is a nice hotel with friendly staff and conveniently located in the very centre of Bologna (under 5 minutes from piazza Maggiore). I only had two minor problems during my stay. First of all, the garbage collectors that pass in the street every morning make a lot of noise. The other problem was the arrangement of my room, which was not really practical to work. This is, however, not a big deal as long as you are willing to use the lounge, which perfectly fulfilled the purpose for me.

I stayed here for work and they gave me an upgrade because there were few people staying there at the time - as such had a better room that expected. No noise issues at all (other people commented about that but the cinema i think was closed the week i was there (July09). Room had airconditioning. top floor (i guess) with sloping roof and only a small openable window at 45 degrees which was not convenient for staring out of. Room has CNN to keep the english only people informed ;) Grocery store very close, along with an icecream shop.

Great hotel for people with an interest in old gone-by style. Beautifully decorated, rooms are spacious with ceilings reaching the sky. These kind of places should be supported in order not to be swallowed by those characterless monsters!

Hotel veramente consigliato.

Great location, best if traveling by public means. All places to visit are nearby. Vintage atmosphere and decor. Someone will consider it shabby, to me is plain charme. As most often happens in Italian hotels, forget in house breakfast and walk to the nearest cafe instead.

This is a charming hotel, an old palazzo full of character, situated right in the heart of Bologna. The hotel was full of original features and the room was grand and very spacious. We were lucky enough to have a balcony at the front on the hotel, which had magnificent views across the city. The welcome we received at reception was excellent and very friendly - we had a car and we were able to park in the hotel car park before checking-in, and we were helped with our bags to the room. The gentleman at reception was most helpful, we had arrived on the night of the festival of the patron saint of the city (San Petronio) and he printed us off some information and timetables from the internet so we could enjoy the evening's events in the main square. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good, and the car parking was reasonably priced. The hotel was across the road from a nightclub that was quite noisy, however given that it was Saturday night and that it was a festival, we suspect that this was an exception to the norm. We would highly recommend this hotel and will try to return again. (The hotel is also next door to a shop serving the best ice cream we have ever tasted, it is well worth a visit)

Everything was OK as for the service, breakfast, staff welcoming quality and town location but my room (nr. 435) was located on the 4th floor, just above a CINEMA !!! and there has been a tremendous noise from films played in the cinema during a whole afternoon till past midnight, so I could not sleep before 1 am ! Receptionist explained that the cinema occupies till 2nd floor of the hotel on this side, so beware if you intend to stay in this hotel to keep from this area !

The Hotel Palace is situated in a great location and is good value for money. The breakfast room is a little packed in the mornings at the weekend and the coffee is all from a machine. Despite this, you will be a five minute walk from the Neptune Fountain, so you can't beat it for location. I would recommned this hotel.
