In general the hotel is rather good, with modern convenience. I`m not fully happy of staying because room was tacky, had 3 beds and was rather close, but bathroom was huge) Carpeting on the floor was a little bit dirty - grey instead of yellow and dusty that it was uncomfortable to stay in room long and breath, but if you are tourist and staying in Bologna for some days - it is tolerantly. Windows in the room was small, located close to ceiling and had veiw on courtyard. Close to railway station - it is advantage if you are travelling through Italy or are going to see neighbor towns (Verona, Florence, Padova, Modena). Staff was friendly but spoke english a little bit.

The staff was terrific. This was our first time in the city and they were very helpful, giving us directions and suggestions for restaurants and site seeing. They spoke English very well which we find very helpful. Breakfast was a good buffet. Restaurant Bologna, just down the block and across the street was very good and not pricy. A walk up the covered sidewalks to the main square was interesting. And, of course, it is only two blocks from the train station so you can get there and dump the luggage right away.

The hotel is very close to the train station - located on the street behind the hotels immediately across the street fom the station. It's easy to find and quiet. there isn't much else in the immediate vicinity, but it is walkable to Piazza Maggiore and there are a number of good restaurants in walking distance. The internet service is free for the first 30 minutes, but there is a charge after that. It worked fine while I was there. The room I was in this time was very small, but comfortable for a single night stay. Even though I checked out before the breakfast to catch an early flight, the desk clerk opened the breakfast room and offered me a coffee before the taxi arrived exceeding my expectations.

You get what you pay for - in fact, you probably get a little more than you pay for here. It is a budget hotel that has extras that make a difference. Complimentary toiletries, enough towels and very helpful staff at the desk. I stayed in a similarly priced hotel in Venice and got a whole lot less for the money. Breakfast was ok - choice of bread would have been good though. White bed linens very clean and crisp - would not have risked the covered pillow to sleep on though. Air conditioning worked but not brilliantly - the key card kept dislodging itself turning the aircon and lights out unexpectedly! The (single) bedroom was tiny - quite claustrophobic. Bedroom floors are wooden which is great from a hygiene perspective, but not so great for those not on the top floor. It was very noisy until about midnight each night with people returning from nights out. Lack of a good night's sleep doesn't make for the best break. But a small grumble about a hotel that was fair value for money. Area fine during the day - hotel advised me to get a taxi back after dark which I did (better that they are honest). It is definitely a hotel for a short stay - a week here would have been too much - but just fine for a flying visit to a lovely city.;

This place is right by the train station and easy to find. No problem rolling luggage there and they have a elevator which is very nice esp for italy. Breakfast was ample with real espresso drinks made to order that were the best of my 3 week stay but not as good of course as the ones you find walking around town. Staff was very hard working (esp. breakfast crew) and friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet and the window opened which was nice. Very clean and they have a computer you can use in the lobby for 15 min or so. The only downsides were that the street it's on is poorly lighted and as a single female it felt a little strange. This isn't the hotel's fault of course!!! it's poorly lighted for about a block and quite deserted. I would say you could go over one street to a more lighted street by the station and be fine. Also it should be noted that Europe is far safer overall than the U.S. so I am probably just a worrier. The carpet could use replacing.. the only minor flaw in an otherwise very nicely designed and maintained place! Value was good overall and I would recommend it to people.

This is THE PLACE TO STAY IN BOLOGNA!!! It is very close to the train ( one block away, behind the mercer hotel). It is right by the main shopping street..and 10 minutes from the historic center.! The rooms are very clean and nice, the breakfast is amazing! Fresh warm chocolate crossants, ham, cheese, fresh fruit.. really good. All the fresh made cappachino you can drink! 24 hrs a day.. not a machine.. made by the front desk .. the real deal! Very friendly staff, excellent service.. worth much more the the actual cost if you get a good rate... the only issue i had was no free wifi.. it was a pain as you would have to pay one euro for 1 hour and no on and off.. it was a one time deal.. though there was a free computer in the lobby.. ( i got around that rule by going 1/2 a block to the NH hotel that had free wifi in the lobby)! Overall a 10. Choose this hotel.

This is a modern business-style hotel that has already seen better days. The ground-floor reception areas are fine but the carpeting on the public areas of the accommodation floors is really stained and dirty. It's the first thing you notice when you step out of the lift, which then makes you start looking out for other faults. The room was fine (the floor here was made of wood) but the bedcover was old and faded -- and the venetian blind in the bathroom didn't work. What a shame that this hotel is letting itself down by the lack of care and attention to things like this. Breakfast, by the way, was excellent, but the tea machine was broken.

I had stayed at this hotel twice before and been very pleased with it. But I was a little disappointed this time. The staff at reception and in the breakfast room seemed overworked and rather stressed. The hotel is also in need of redecoration. Nothing has changed in at least five years, and the hotel is in need of some painting and brightening up in the public areas and bedrooms. But it is still a very comfortable place to stay and the location is excellent, near to the central station and city centre.

The staff allowed me to leave my luggage behind the front desk as I arrived in Bologna early on the morning of check-in and left after the required check-out time. I didn't feel well the night of my stay and, therefore, didn't want ot go out for dinner. The front desk was very friendly, ordered a pizza for me and had it delivered to my room. There is good variety at breakfast with both salty and sweet selections and fresh espresso or cappuccino served by the bartender. The room has a Sky satellite hookup and the bathroom was clean with good hygiene products provided. The only downside was that my "non-smoking" room smelled terribly of smoke. The odor did not go away even with the window open.

The Millenhotel turned out to be a real find. I liked the idea of an hotel that was only six floors as I think larger hotels can lose the personal touch with clients. The building is close to the Faranese Gate and the gateway to all Bologna has to offer which is a lot. It is very close to the train station and the Aerport bus which costs five euros and takes twenty minutes to reach Marconi terminal. This was my first trip to Bologna and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The medieval centre is a joy to behold and the standard of cleanliness is very high. If you are a culture vulture you are catered for from the museums which are free to the Art Galleries and the Opera in Via Zamboni. I feel I saw the real Bologna, a vibrant, working city at ease with itself and not a tourist trap. There are many reasonable restaurants off the Via Independenza, one I especially liked was Il Portico opposite Restaurant Donatello near Via Piella. It was a small family run place with a modest yet excellent menu. Take the city tour, get on at Piazza Maggiore just 10 euros but worth every cent. Walk and walk and enjoy the little parks and havens where you can indulge in reading or the magical sound of Italian all around you. The hotel was very comfortable, excellent beds and wardrobe space and the bathroom generous with all complimentary tolietries. The breakfasts were excellent with personal service from a charming morning staff for whom nothing was a chore. I will definitely stay here again and plan to return this year. I cant wait, Viva Italia!!!

The hotel is just a short walk from the railway station and the main street in Bologna. About 15 min walk to Piazza Maggiore along the main street with shops. Nearby restaurant Bolognese had good food. The room was clean and looked nice. Air condition worked well, but we had to call the reception to get lower or higher temperatures. But that was not a problem, it's 24 hours reception service. Breakfast was just excellent, the best we've had in Italy. Lots of different choices and very much fresh fruit. There's also less traffic on the street in front of the hotel. It's an easy walk to the center of the city where there are many good restaurants. However the staff are extremely impersonal, I was there for 5 days and did not have a single human interaction with any of them. If this not very important it is a great hotel to stay at, located about 5 mins from the train station. Le stanze dell'hotel, pulitissime, sono però molto piccole. Non si merita l'elevato prezzo che ha. Inoltre i receptionists sono molto scortesi e poco competenti. Buona location, vicina alla stazione e al centro. Ricca colazione a buffet.

Se torno a Bologna sicuramente dormirò qui, molto vicino alla zona fiera. Simpatico il Sig. Franco alla reception!

The room & the bed(single) were incredibly small. I'd never stayed in such a small room before. With this price the quality of this hotel is not good enough. The hotel reception also forgot to return my ID when I did check-out, so I had to go back again to pick it up. No apology from them ! I would never stay in this hotel again.

this was a excellent hotel for the money the breakfast was amazing the best we ever had in Italy .Although it was close to the station we felt safe walking back at night .it could be noisy at night if the windows were open but we were staying in a city.

The hotel was very nice and close to the train station. We were able to walk into the main part of town with no problem. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy, with more variety and selections of food. Our only complaint was the very small room. We barely had room to walk on either side of the bed.We would stay here again.

This hotel provides excellent value for money. A block away from the railway station, but without any noise from it. Being across the remains of the old city wall it's within 5-10 minutes walk to the main attractions of the city. Spotlessly clean. As European hotel rooms go, quite spacious, with a large, well-equipped bathroom. A pleasant breakfast room with a good selection of breakfast foods. We found the staff friendly and knowledeable. All in all we recommend this hotel highly.

The front desk clerk who checked me in was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything about my stay was extremely satisfactory ... except. my room (otherwise immaculate) reeked of cigarette smoke, and the hotel could use new carpeting.

Millennhotel has a convenient location--walking distance from the train station, shopping, tourist sites, and restaurants. Breakfast was very nice and generous, and that is important to me. The front desk was most helpful to me in solving a certain little problem.

Our stay was near perfect, excellent quality of room and breakfast, way above what one ordinarily expects from a three star hotel. The only two minor shortcomings were the garage, which had direct access to the premises but was not operated by the hotel and cost 16 Euros a day and the fact that at first the bill amounted to 200 Euros more (for three nights!) than prearranged via email. It turned out that it was a mistake by either the receptionist on duty or the one who had confirmed my booking. In the end I only had to pay what the email said was due, but it was a minor shock right away and some hassle on our last morning to get things sorted out.

I know I booked a single room, but what a small room it was!!! When I asked Reception for another pillow (I only had one very flat pillow), I was told no! I had to use my towel to prop up my very flat pillow! The breakfast was quite good - although I had to find someone to ask for a coffee! The hotel was quite central and close to the station.

This is a super hotel that feels quite luxurious but without the cost. It is excellently located, very close to the train station and only a 20min stroll into the central square. The room was lovely and clean with a massive bathroom. The staff were a little unhelpful and we had to change rooms at the start because they gave us two beds pushed together but they were happy to change. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced when travelling europe and a great way to start your day in this fab city.

Great price for such a nice hotel. The location is very convenient (a block from the train station), which was PERFECT for me and my heavy luggage. (They even have a lift bigger than any I've seen in Italy!) It's not the most 'happening' part of town, but the bus stop is close enough to take you anywhere you need to go. The staff was friendly, chatty and helpful. They even helped translate to my taxi driver when I left. My only complaint is the internet access--you can get wireless in your room but it's through a third party and quite pricy. The breakfast buffet was great--lots of variety, good cappucinos and a nice atmosphere. Overall, staying at the Millenhotel was a great way to start my year in Bologna. When I have friends come to town, this is the first and only place I'll recommend.

This hotel, although 3* was of very high quality, better than many 4* hotels in which I have stayed. The buffet breakfast was sensational, by far the best cold buffet I have ever experienced in Europe. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.

The Millenium Hotel seems to be a new hotel, situated in a not too busy street. The hotel is conveniently located very close to the railway station where I arrived from the airport. The surrounding area is - as nearly always around railway stations - not overwhelming but I did not encounter any annoyances. The city center and a park is in walking distance. The room was spacious the bathroom also and excellently clean. For breakfast there is buffet with a wide variety of choices. Hotel prices seem to be higher in Bologna than in other Italian cities but I was completely satisfied with what I got for my money.
