It is a beauty hotel, with large rooms and good services; The location is quite and not too far from the center (there is the bus stop number 25 close to hotel). Our room is very large with upstairs, TV ,and air conditioned. Great rapport quality/price

Was not happy about the "no eating in room" rule. The younger staff members were very helpful and friendly. The older man that seemed to be the boss was somewhat unfriendly.

Hotel by itself is quite nice and worth the price they were asking (40 euros/night). However, it is hardly reachable on foot form central Bologna and I strongly recommend finding out which bus goes there before arriving in Bologna (was far from obvious from transport schemes they have at bus stops..) After you are familiar with transport options, things became sipmpler - actually its quite reachable from the centre and trip takes probably around 20 minutes.

The hotel is far from the center bu there is a bus line just in front of the hotel entrance. It takes about 30min to get the city center. The breakfast was a little poor. The room was old but very large.

Comfortable stay with very helpful staff. On the outskits of Bologna, but with the bus stop to town outside the front door and busses every 10 minutes made the stay most pleasant. Some eating places closeby, the Pizza shop aroound the corner had some of the best pizzas yet.

The map I got from the homepage of the hotel shows that it is located inside the ringroad, but it is outside! We spent a lot of time going around and crossing the block where it was marked to be - please change the sign on the map. (I think that the map on the bookingsite was correct!)

Stanza spaziosa e pulitissima, personale molto disponibile e gentile, colazione buona e abbondante. Un po' fuori mano, ma con un ottimo servizio di bus ci si passa sopra senza problemi! Ah, facile da raggiungere per chi viene dalla tangenziale!

This was the only hotel I could find at a decent price. Bologna has many fairs and at fairtime, hotel prices are unreasonably high. Maxim is a bit far from the city center, but the bus stop (Dozza) is in front of the hotel and the ride is not that bad. Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay in Bologna.

This was a nice property, but it was pretty far out from city center. on the map it didnt seem like it was that far out, but it was about 15 minutes on the bus from the train station. the rooms were nice and they were pretty big. we werent really in the hotel much but the time we were there everyone was really helpful

Typical 3 star hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, clean quiet property, and very adequate european breakfast. We chose Bologna as a central location for daytrips to Florence, Pisa and Venice, which worked out fine, and Hotel Maxim mainly for the value (2 level suite for 85 euros a night). The bathroom is small, particularly the shower, and not much of a lobby. On the plus side, it is easily accessible just off the Tangenziale freeway, it has its own parking place, and there is an excellent pizzeria behind it (Pantera Rosa). For what we needed, Hotel Maxim served its purpose. The major negative is the small shower, and the big plus was the value.

We will return to this hotel when we are in Bologna! The location (once we found it!) is quite convenient to the main highway that circles the city. The hotel design is quite avant-garde, and we found it great to stay in such a unique facility!

The room was OK but the air conditioning was turned off it was musty and hot we had to keep the windows opened by a very busy street that had heavy traffic all day and night which made for a very poor nights sleep because of the constant noise. We would never stay in this hotel again. David

Excellent service and price. A bit out of town, but the nearby restaurant (Ristorante Al Cambio) is superb. The gentleman behind the desk (whose name I forget) was extremely helpful, including letting me use the office computer to send a quick email plus providing a chair for my wife while I was composing the email, and helping me find the underscore and @ keys on the Italian keyboard. Next time we're anywhere near Bologna and need a place to stay, the Hotel Maxim will be our first choice.

Great location on a main street. We arrived late and checked out early so didn't have much chance to observe but the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable (for Italian beds!)

Hotel very good, excellent quality-price relation, but high noise level - take ear plugs with you! Hotel is quite far away from the railway station, which is no problem, because there is a good bus connection, but make sure you know which bus to take and where to get out, otherwise it's going to be a long walk.

Only one item, which should be improved. If you have a sportive car, which is lower then usual you can not enter the parking area without hitting the high level of the pavement with the body of your car.

Superb value for money. The hotel is quite a way out of the centre of Bologna, but there are buses on the door step. I had a car and it took me 10 minutes to get to the heart of the town. The 4 bed rooms are excellent: devided over two floors, they are almost two separate rooms. If I go back to Bologna, I will certainly choose the Maxim again.

The hotel was clean, but noisy due to the fact that our room was right above a traffic light. The beds sagged in the centers, and when we walked through the hallways we were overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke, as the front desk staff all smoked. Having said that, the restaurant was very good, and the hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful.

Excellent value for money. Great breakfast, nice to have something fresh & not prepacked like most B&Bs. Staff very helpful. Rooms spacious. Only complaint was we arrived a bit late and restaurant had just closed, there were still people dining but we had to go elsewhere so were advised of a very nice place not far away.

The "Maxim" is a friendly hotel in the outskirts of Bologna. The employees are friendly and competent, the rooms comfortable and clean, the breakfast is good and the atmosphere friendly. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop, you can go to the centre of Bologna six, seven or eight times per hour. The relationship between price and quality is excellent. We will come back!

The hotel is perfectly situated for people driving down to Italy. It is very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to all people that need to stop near the highway. I was very impressed by this 3 stars hotel, although I consider it as a 4 stars as the quality of the material used is very modern. I will certainly return there !! Thanks to Venere.com who gave me the opportunity to know that hotel.

The only fault with this hotel is with its location... The map is very misleading! The street via Stalingrado is only a quick walk away from the station... but the hotel is 4km down the road. We had bags and were on foot. We were informated that the hotel was only a minute away by the woman in the Information Kiosk in the train station. I would def recommend this place, it was fab and for €52/night you can hardly complain. VBreakfast is not included however. We found the easiest way to get to the hotel is to get the Bus 25 in the direction of Duomo. That will let you off right beside the hotel. If you require any more information, please email me at quinlivanjohn@hotmail.com

A good hotel and comfortable rooms in the suburbs of Bologna. You can take the bus downtown on the opposite side from the hotel. The price is very good for the quality of the rooms. The staff was not very polite when checking in. But all in all a very good solution for a short visit in the town!

At the time of our stay Maxim was offering by far the best prices - this being the prime reason for choosing to stay there. However, we were even more impressed by the size of the rooms and the helpfulness of the staff . It's often difficult to find a suitable hotel for a family with 3 children. The family room at Maxim was surprisingly big and comfortable (provided you don't mind an internal staircase and a relatively small bathroom). During our stay our 5 yo. son become very sick. The staff were very helpful, locating a doctor for us (on a Sunday), chemists, and showing us precisely how to get to the hospital and other places. For a family the location of Maxim is perfect - being close to a park, and only a short direct bus trip into the city centre (10-15 min). Although we had to manage with a sick child, we still enjoyed our stay, and the quality of the staff at Maxim only encourages us to return again one day to see more of the area.

We were 4 people and had 2 bedrooms with 2 separate beds, and a separate bathroom: perfect! Can't do much better for 100 Eur. The location is a disadvantage though, you need a car to get into the city.
