Our experiencie was not very good in this hotel. The location in the middle of nowhere, there are no facilities for car parking, the quality of the hotel is very unsatisfying.

As parking it is a problem in that area in Bologna, I asked if there was a parking facility. It was available, but with an extra cost of 25 euro a day, open only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Considering the price of the rooms, I would expect a free parking facility.

The location is not great, a bit far from central of town. The staffs are not very welcoming and not helpful. They are not warm and do not provide pleasant service. Also, teh breakfast is not goo. Definitley not worth the money they charge.

The staff was lovely, very warm, helpful. Our rooms (we had two different rooms) were stylish, very functional, excellent air conditioning. An excellent hotel a short distance from the center of Bologna.

The hotel and the employees were more than welcoming and did everything to assist. Just one small problem, guests had no access to enter the hotel by themselves and had to wait until a hotel employee could open the front doors which was a bit inconvenient and after a 5 days staff we bothe felt we were being an inconvenience by having to ask to be let in every 2 minutes. In addition, the guest robes are totally inpractable and quite horrible!

I booked my parents here for 4 days while they were visiting me in Bologna. My mom couldn't walk very well and the hotel was so accomodating to her needs. The location was around the corner to my house. They got a room on the ground floor with a bathroom for handicap, and the manager even brought out a ramp to the front step for my mother. A truly classy hotel if you ask me. I never saw my parents happier!

This hotel is just phenomenal. The rooms are beautiful, with a modern decor, spa towels and large (by European standards) bathrooms. We received personal attention from Carolina who provided us excellent suggestions and recommendations about things in Bologna. The neighborhood was great and the hotel is located very close to one of the best gelato places in Bologna. The hotel does a great aperativi in the afternoons that you can enjoy while sitting outside. Our expectations were far exceeded by our experience here.

The hotel´s well worth a visit. Really nice. But the reason for which we won´t go back is the woman in charge: really serious and at times impertinent. it´s a pitty, because the man who appeared was really really nice, and so were the ladies serving the breackfast. You´d even feel like being cared by a very severe professor at school!!. Instad of wellcoming you and make you feel "at home", you feel like you are a "non-invited gest" , although sometimes it seemed she was trying to be nice. Even so. A pitty.

Our stay at Il Convento dei Fiori di Seta, while short, was very pleasant. The owner, in particular, was helpful and provided a restaurant suggestion that was one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip.

The hotel is new, unique and caters to English speaking tourists. The anglophone owner was so helpful and provided us with insights to her city, which she clearly knows well, to increase our enjoyment of the City. Rooms were well equiped and modern. The big shower was a highlight for my husband. This is a very special property managed by very special people. Make sure to see the frescoes upstairs over reception area.

very different and nice architecture, but too expensive considering that it is a small hotel without restaurant or most of fascilities you would expect. A pity that the small garden which has been there earlier and is still mentinoned in some internet pages is now a parking lot. So one is limted to the inside of the hotel..which means lacking public space one is limited to the room.

This is a wonderful hotel in a quaint neighborhood that is a short walking distance to Piazza Maggiore and all the major sights. It is a beautiful and unique hotel, with a knowledgeable local staff that speak English fluently. They made themselves available to arrange for cabs and restaurant reservations. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bologna and would definitely return to this hotel.

It was our first trip to Bologna and unfortunately we were only able to stay one night. We had a little trouble finding the hotel but that was because we were not familiar with the area. The hotel was everything I expected from the website and more!! The attention to detail, down to the smallest item (like the room key) was noticed and appreciated. You can tell that the owner and her staff take pride in showing off their beautiful hotel and catering to the needs of their guests. We ordered drinks in our room when we arrived while we showered and refreshed ourselves in anticipation of the wonderful meal. A reservation was made and a cab ordered with a note confirming both within five ninutes. Drinks were brought to our room with a nice selection of appetizers. Breakfast the following morning was beautifully layed out and was very adequate. If I were in Bologna again, I would definitely stay at the convent! Alma Cox and Paul Levy

The bed was very uncomfortable. We even told the receptionist (without making a fuss, really) but nobody got back to us in any way (we were asking that they would check the bed frame/mattress and see if they could fix it some how). We never knew if they even looked at it ! This, together with the fact that you have to pay extra for freshly squeezed orange juice at the breakfast buffet (and hot beverages refills are not contemplated !), put us off a little bit.... Still the hotel building is nice and romantic, and has a great location (easy to walk to lots of places !!).

The location is wonderful, but the employees are inefficient. I have asked for a taxi because I was late and they did not called it (without telling me anythinf), I was waiting and I asked again and agin.. only when I get very angry because the taxy was not arriving (15 minutes) they told me that they cannot spend to much time on the line looking for a taxy for me! Furthermore, They asked € 7 for an orange juice, which was not included in the breakfast (4stars hotel ?!?) and as soon as I get up to go to the cashier to pay the consierge RUN and SCREAMED that I must pay the juice (and, at that time, I still have had my luggage in the room!). So, wonderful rooms and incompetent staff.

Good quality hotel, very nice rooms (bit smalls if you have a little boy along) good service. Few minute walking and you are in the central square of Bologna. Pay attention the hotel is whitin restricted traffic area, controlled by cameras. Better leave the cas on the park nearby, and then atthe hotel they will provide a ticket to enter into the zone and park (if there is place) in front of the hotel. Rooms are very well equipped (plasma, wireless network) and very clean. Large bathroom. The breakfast quite rich, but if you get someting extra is quite costly. Finally, i will recommend this hotel , especially if you can get a special rate through Internet

When we arrived at Il Convento, we had just gotten off our overseas flight at the Bologna airport. Carolina, owner and hostess, and her assistant Pim greeted us warmly and had our room ready for us (although we arrived earlier than check-in). Our room was spotless and impeccably decorated. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the room very quiet. We thought being in the middle of the city, there would have been a lot of noise but we heard nothing either inside or outside. Il Convento has a bar open much of the day, and Carolina fixed us a delicious toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a large glass of Chianti, a perfect touch for two jet-lagged travelers. We didn’t even need to leave the hotel! The location is perfect because it is within walking distance of the old part of the city which we found quite a pleasant and fascinating place. After resting a bit, we decided to ask about a place for dinner. Because there was a trade fair in the city, things were booked, but Carolina did not give up and found us a lovely restaurant. In the morning, the breakfast was served by very polite and attentive waitresses and it was plentiful and delicious. We will likely fly into Bologna on our next trip to Italy and plan to stay at Il Convento again.
