The room was small, but Ok, and beds were Very good. The breakfast is not. every day continenetal. The first 3 days,we stayed 4, were a little bit poor, compared by the last day. We asked about it, and they say because of the lower price on the fist 3 days. But we don'nt know that, because we pay for the whole stay one price, alltogerher. And there is no wifi free, But the location is Very good.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning and two nights at the end of our holiday. The location of the hotel is excellent for accessing the old town in Bologna. The negative is that it is in a back street which, even though we did not experience any trouble, it was a bit dark and quiet. It is also only a 15 minute walk from the bus/train station. The staff were friendly with one exception. The rooms were a good size with a compact en-suite. I would recommend this hotel as being in a perfect location to explore Bologna.

Breakfast at this hotel was the worst we ever experienced: extremely cramped space, bad food, awful coffee and undrinkable tea, and worst of all was the rude, incompetent and unhelpful staff member in charge of breakfast. When leaving this same person told us she did not know how to call a taxi and did not offer to get help; consequently we had to take four big cases into the street to look for a taxi for ourselves. Dreadful! Other staff members we dealt with were competent and pleasant.

This Hotel is very good located, 200 meters to the Via dell'independenza which is one of the most central avenues in the center of Bologna, the staff is very welcoming and educated, the rooms are ok, the breakfast is not a great thing but is enough, the small street where is located the hotel can make it seems isolated but is very near everything. you can be out till late without problems. i enjoyed my stay.

Overall an excellent hotel. The location is superb, being so centrally located, and only a few minutes walk to Piazza Maggiore. I was very impressed by its cleanliness and ensuite facilities. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. My only complaint is that the area can be a little noisy at night, being city centre (so make sure you shut your window!)

The Hotel Holiday has the potential to be a fine location from which to visit Bologna. The primary issue we had was that they advertised wifi throughout the hotel and then AFTER we booked our room there was mention of a charge for WiFi. In this day and age wireless should be a given at no additional charge. As for quiet, it seems that there were some inconsiderate residents speaking very loudly with an open window to the shared space at 3a.m....the hotel staff (which was wonderful by the way) tried unsuccessfully to quiet them. That was unfortunate. I would only return if the wifi is resolved.

The best thing of this hotel is its location. It its central, very close to piazza maggiore and to all atractions, bars and restaurants. Room is spacious and clean. Bed is not that comfortable. Major issue is that the central heatingis too weak, we would constanly get cold in the bedroom during the cold winter.

Very nice hotel with multilingual staff at the reception who also could give good advices regarding what to see and where to eat. Holiday Hotel was nothing but kind and accomodating. I had foolishly reserved my room for the wrong date, and had emailed the hotel the same day. They were very understanding and re-reserved for the right date the very next day. The hotel was very easy to get to (10 min walk) from the train station, and was right in the city centre. The rooms, while small, were very nice and have everything that we needed. The front desk was very nice and had even helped us to schedule a ducati factory tour for the very next day. I have no complaints about this hotel, and thought it was very much worth the price.

Holiday Hotel was close to the main street and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. It seems to be a business client oriented hotel with nothing of particular appeal about the hotel itself, but it was clean, spacious, comfortable and air conditionned (SO important in summer). The staff were helpful in recommending places to eat (many were closed for the summer and on a Sunday when we arrived) and also recommended an excellent bike ride for us to take!

Hotel Holiday is in the center of Bologna, yet protected from noise. All interesting spots in the city are at 5-min walking distance and are easy to reach. As expected, the rooms are not so spacious as they look on photos, but it really does not matter when you stay a couple of days. The only real problem was that although we have chosen that hotel because it is in the center and offers a parking, it turned out parking was not available (they have 2 parking lots for the whole hotel?!) so we had to park the car in a nearby garage which cost us extra 20 EUR.

The hotel was very nice. The breakfast was wonderful. The building is very old and the architect is doing a fabulous job keeping the feel and look of the old building. It is still being rebuilt and we had a lot of construction noise...but I guess that comes with building a hotel. The price we paid was more than the veneer site quoted but we did not have a printer with us (we made the reservation after we went to Italy) so there was not much we could do.

Stayed here with my 18yr old daughter in Aug 08. We had heavy backpacks and it was a good 15 min hot walk from the railway station not a few hundred meters as on website! If you're loaded with luggage take a taxi c. 7 euros. However, excellent central location with shops, restaurants and all the old town right there. Don't be put off by the sex shop at the begining of the small street this hotel is in - he other end is directly into a main part of the town. If you are staying in Bologna to visit the Ferrari museum at Marinello, it took us a couple of hours by train and bus and 10 mins walk at the other end. We may not have done it in the best way - check the route carefully!

The hotel was a little hard to find, and the locals haven't heard of the street. The venere directions (as they usually are) were poor, just saying the hotel is meters from the train station. Well, this is true, but not helpful as it isn't visible from the train station. The hotel is located in a street that is almost a back alley. When I checked in they gave me a room without a window, but when I told them it wasn't acceptable they gave me another room without any problem. The decor is very 1980s, though the rooms were a good size. There is a lift, air conditioning, private bathroom, internet in the lobby, and the breakfast was good.

Walking past the sex shop at the end of the road we were begining to get a little worried but there was no evidence that the area was in any way dangerous and at night it did not feel in the least thretening. In reality it is quite close to the main part of the city. It is not however a "few yards" from the railway station. It is walkable but it will take 30 mins or so with a suitcase. This hotel doesn't have much character. It is functional and fairly comfortable. Everything works and it is maintained to a good standard. If you want somewhere to lay your head within easy walking distance of the main parts of Bologna this will do fine. Breakfast was quite reasonable. This was my second stay at Holiday. The location is just about ideal-- very central, close to the university area. Other than that, it's pleasant and perfectly serviceable. It's not cheap exactly but a good price for Bologna. As for quietness: no traffic noise to speak of but you can definitely hear the other guests, so a lot depends on who else is there. This time things were very quiet. Last time I was not so lucky: there was a group of teenagers who visited with each other from room to room until the early morning hours. Breakfast is ok, not great.

Our original booking was made for three + three but the hotel personnel had arranged without any questions the other room with extra bed. We were very pleased because we didn´t have to split our family. The room for three people with extra bed was still spacious. our room looked out onto an inner courtyard, and so was very quiet. The hotel was fine, worth the price, good location, very good reception staff, but in some ways idiosyncratic. For example, the lift had a strange notice (in english) about guests who take breakfast food without paying for it being charged if traces are found in their room. I suggest the hotel just changes its policy to charge all guests a breakfast-inclusive rate, as we had through venere.com. The notice implies that it doubts the honesty of its english speaking guests.

The room was very hot. The air conditioning did not work and there was no way they could make the room cooler. This was a very difficult night for all of us and it was very hard to sleep.

Ottima colazione a buffet. Camera pulita, confortevole e molto spaziosa.

Stayed for one day in Bologna with two other friends. Hotel is in an alley street. Where it's located not a great place. the Hallway very small and elevator. Beds were not comfortable. Bathroom shower was so small But overall it was okay hotel for one night. If I would go back to this hotel or advice anyone, my answer will be no. But thanks for the services.

The room was Ok, even though I think it was originally a room for personel - we had a kitchen, a closet with cleaning stuff, an encyclopedia ... but location was great, and all in all, for one night one does need a lot.

THIS HOTEL CAN BE QUITE DIFFICULT TO FIND. PLEASE OBTAIN A GOOD CITY STREET MAP < http://www.tuttocitta.it/tcolnew/index_tcol.html# > ENTER THE STREET AND AREA NUMBER AND OFF YOU GO. ON FOOT, LEAVING THE MAIN CENTRAL TRAIN STATION BY THE FRONT ENTRANCE, HEAD TO THE LEFT WHERE A MAC DONALDS IS LOCATED, CROSS THE MAIN ROAD AT MAC DONALDS AND TURN LEFT FOR ONLY 15 METERS, THEN TURN RIGHT BY THE OLD RUINS, ACROSS THE SQUARE AND ONTO THE MAIN STREET, FOLLOW THIS STREET, VIA DELL INDIPENDENZA, BEST USE THE STREET MAP FROM HERE. THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT, GREAT LOCATION, CLOSE TO ALL SITES AND MAIN SHOPPING AREAS. RECOMMEND THE WINE / CAFE BAR JUST AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE HOTEL, EXCELLENT SERVICE, NOT EXPENSIVE, OPEN ALL DAY TO MIDNIGHT. GOOD RESTRUANTS LOCALLY. < FOR BITS & PIECES SUPERMARKET IS A GOOD 15 MINUTES WALK FROM THE HOTEL, VIALE PIETRO,> WHEN RETURNING TO THIS GREAT CITY WOULD STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN

I just stayed over one night on my way out ot Italy, and found the hotel to be nice, especially for the Internet price I paid (50 euros). I was alble to park my car in their two car garage across the street. I had a small room on the third floor with a king-size bed, which was fine with me for my short stay. The bed was good, the room clean, the bathroom fine. Unlike some of the other reviews of this hotel I;ve read, I have no complaints and would stay here again.

Really good value for money. The room was great and nicely air conditioned. Shower was good too. Only gripe was breakfast - the service was atrocious and no one had bothered clearing any of the tables.
