It was so hot in the room i got... I guess they control the air conditioning and for me that wasn't good because i was there and it was a pretty humid period. The bicycles you could borrow to get around in the city was a great thing! Close to the train station, since i was only staying 2 nights and then going to Milano...That was perfect. Really old bathroom where the shower was the bathroom itself!!! I guess I was in the old part of the hotel. Garage available for people with cars.

Excellent hotel. A little expensive, but services deserve these prices. The only problem : impossible to have wi-fi, without paying paying 5€ per day.

We lived i an apartment on via gallieria, a few blocks from main hotel so we skipped breakfast there and made our own. The apartment was spacious and clean, big bathroom. The kitchen had things for two people and no more. Two glasses, two plates and so forward. The area was ok, behind the main street wich felt safe. Pretty close to the historic centre. Would absolutely stay here again for this price, totally 440 euros for six nights!

Definatly will not stay there again. The price of this hotel rated too much for the facilities & room they provided. 10 mins walk from Hotel, and hotel is away (opposite direction) from the main district. It seems like they have several facilities, the "Apartment" is one in the nice pictures but seems like different from the rooms you book. My room has no TV, and broken A/C. They have better rooms on 2nd floor but no elevators. Their carpet is nasty, and wooden floor is filled with somekind of white dust(which i realized it might be cotton). I booked this hotel because of the price and location, but it doesn't deserve 80 euro. I would rather pay more bucks for a much better hotel.

Very friendly staff who offered to change between the main hotel and the apartments for no difference in cost as soon as we arrived, were happy to give advice on the city and were generally pleasant even at 2am.

We stayed in one of the apartments the hotel offers,5minutes from the actual hotel. It was perfect, clean, spacious and very close to the city centre. For the price we payed i was extremily happy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

El personal antipatico. El lavabo muy deficiente, sobre todo el lava manos. La cama con formas raras. No pensamos volver nunca mas al Astoria

They didn't have the apartment we booked, and put us into a room on the top floor instead. The room was very hot and the AC did not work properly. The bathroom was very outdated and the drain in the small shower didn't drain so we could not take more than one quick shower. They couldn't give us another room until later into the afternoon of the next day, so we checked out and went someplace nicer.

This hotel was close to the train station but kind of far from the city center. We stayed in a "family room" which had two rooms and a small kitchen and was very nice, but not the cleanest. The hotel staff was nice, but gave us misinformation about getting a taxi at 4:30am to get to the airport, causing us to almost miss our airplane.

I had the chance to stay here twice within a few days. The first night I stayed at 93 euros in a double in the dependance, which was quite comfortable and spacious, the bed was of good quality. Unfortunately the walls are thin as paper, you could talk with your neighbours if you wanted to. The second night I stayed at 83 euros in a single room on the third floor of the main building. The corridor was noisy with slamming doors and no carpet. The room was next to the elevator which went up and down all the time. The room itself was OK, apart from the bathroom which had a very strange umbrella that had to serve as a shower curtain but that did hardly work. In the house next door was a madman playing techno "music" that was so loud that I could not hear my television. When I complained at the reception desk the man in service seemed not impressed at all. He hardly believed me and he did not check my complaints, although the music was audible in the street. There were no other rooms available and the only thing he did was promising to call the police if the noise would continue after 10pm. Alas, it did and then the receptionist went into the street and found out where this madman lived. Luckily, the noise stopped afterwards. Needless to say, I will not stay here again.

We staied at Astoria Hotel for 2 nights. The cleanliness and the comfortability of the room was very good. We found quiet and peaceful ambient in the whole hotel and the hospitality was unbelievable.

La camera non era molto ben pulita (il pavimento aveva bisogno di una bella ramazzata) e il costo del parcheggio che sul sito era di 9 euro al giorno era invece di 12 euro al giorno

We stayed in one of the apartments and the web site stated that it was 50 meters away, when in fact it was 7 - 8 city blocks away. We were 3 sisters travelling together one of whom was 77, making the long walk over to the hotel for breakfast more than expected. Also, the apartment was very noisy, with doors slamming at all hours as well as other guests voices carrying into the apartment from public areas. If I stayed at the Astoria again it would be in the hotel and not in the apartment.

Well located hotel for Central Station (convenient to use Aeorbus from/to airport). Quiet neighbourhood, 10-15 from City Centre though and it can become tiring if walking all the time. Only problem was that we did not get the double room as booked because we were two men - this is helpful in Italy as usually single beds are two narrow (as in this case).

We went to the location of the hotel indicated by the map! It wasn't there - but their apartments were located at this point on the map. Finally we managed to get to the hotel 600m away and having booked an apartment were told that this was 600m away! NOT the 50m indicated on the website. This apartment was in fact a triple hotel room style but really student accommodation in central Bologna. This was NOT what I had booked. The door handle was hanging off the the door. I went back to the front desk person and told him that this was not acceptable for 120 Euro per night. They had no other apartments available for us but after much pressing he gave us a very large apartment for four people which was lying unoccupied. This begs the question - why leave your best rooms unoccupied in a busy time of year. Also why paint the front reception area in the height of the tourist season? Otherwise, our stay there was excellent and improved after this initial hassle. The breakfasts are substandard when compared to other hotels. Their hotel brochure is also riddle with poor Engrish!

Comfortable hotel well situated in Bologna - close to centre of city in a nice area. The accommodation was good and the service was friendly and professional. The one quibble I would have is that some areas of the hotel could do with refurbishment.

Wonderful people at the front desk--so friendly and helpful! We stayed in the apartment a couple of doors down from the hotel. It was very clean but very spartan--no atmosophere at all. The regular rooms are probably nicer. Plenty of hot water and a great shower. Away from the center of town on an ordinary street. We'd definately stay there again. Priced like everything else in Italy.

I wasn't very impressed with the service i received. As the cleaner took my towel away when cleaning the room and the hotel didn't help me get my towel back, so i left minus a towel.

We stayed at the Astoria on 28 August. This was the 5th hotel during out holiday that we booked on the net and we felt that it was good value for the money. Location was close enough to the railway station to walk with our luggage and in the surrounding area we found a great trattoria and also a small supermarket. We walked, 20 mins, into the main part of the city under covered porticos. The main piazza is huge with the unfinished basilica well worth a look.

Although in the overall the stay was okay, from the information provided in the website, I had the idea the Hotel was much closer to the historical centre than it indeed was, and the rooms could be much more comfortable than they are in fact

Very expensive for the low quality: bad bathrooms, the worst ever possible noise level - doors and walls thin as paper. Horrible parking: nobody ever mentioned that the slope is so steep, you need to push the car out of the garage uphill. We got stuck! This should be on the website!!! We paid much less for the 4star hotel in Florence. Very dissatisfied with Astoria. However, personnel was nice and helpful - as much as they could help with such bad facilities. Herman Guelovani

The internet booking worked well. The web site was excellent. It provided hotels in the ** and *** star price ranges we could afford. The maps helped to select a hotel in a convenient place. The provision of vacancies and prices allowed us to plan our trip to avoid the peak times. Also we were able to check train times so we were able to book tickets quickly during our trip.
