My only comment would be that the competence of the desk staff varies, depending on the time of day. For instance, the clerk on at 8:30 p.m., when we wished to pay our bill since we were leaving very early, had closed out her cash, and so we had to wait until the morning. Then, at 4 a.m, the person on duty was friendly and helpful, but not really up to speed about the billing. In contrast, the men on duty when we checked in, and at all times during the day, were very good indeed at their job. the great thing about this hotel is it location, right in the heart of the historic centre.

After travelling 4-5 times a year for 20+ years and staying in hundreds of hotels around the globe, the staff at the Al Cappello Rosso Hotel were the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered. Nothing was too much trouble and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends, family and business collegues. I will definately stay there on my next visit to Bologna.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel on several occasions and have always been satisfied with location, staff, etc. Cannot comment on the breakfast since our plane caused us to leave before 5 a.m. Just steps from Piazza Maggiore and many fine restaurants. Would defimitely stay again.

The hotel is very nice, in the center of the city in a very good position, but staff is not very helpful

I found the Capello an excellent choice . . . although I would have like a little bigger rooms (for which I woould have been willing to pay). Otherwise, it's an excellent choice.

We were fortunate, in that we booked into this very attractive and central hotel on a weekend when there were no trade fairs in Bologna, and so the rate was extremely modest for the type of hotel. Five minutes walk to the chief piazza, the hotel was ideal for us, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a well-located, clean well-managed hotel with a decent breakfast, and parking available either in a garage across the street or in a municipal lot nearby. Just off the Piazza Maggiore...Great place to stay.

Great location. Clean room. Helpful desk service. Average breakfast. We stayed twice. One room was very small; the shower door was poorly connected and fell off. The other room was large and contained amenities such as bath robes and personal grooming aids that the first room didn't have.

Good central location, easy walking to main square. Provides B&B and has tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Linked cafe/bistro next door was very good.

I like this hotel,. It's right in the centre of the historical district and so is really central. Room was quite large for Europe and the bathroom very clean and large. One terrific boonus was the room safe - it was the size of a large drawer and easily took my laptop. Breakfast was very good and the staff helpful. I would stay there again.

Notwithstanding reports in other comments, parking Al Cappello Rossi is absolutely acceptable, even if, as one would expect in the heart of mediaeval Bologna, it doesn't come free. Our great stay was also thanks to the hotel's friendly and discreet staff.

Staff was very professional and welcoming. My room was right above the hotel entrance, thus less than quiet. Though we did not have time to enjoy the breakfast, it looked sumptuous.

The hotel is listed as four stars, but offers no services except for housekeeping and an ordinary buffet breakfast. There is not even a bellman to help with luggage. This hotel is OK if you want only a place to sleep; but it should be priced to reflect services of a 3 star or less hotel. Way overpriced.

This is a comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was quite spacious and clean (if a bit dark). I would strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely use again when next in Bologna.

Everything very good except noise of water running all night, I think from the air conditioning

On arrival, we were introduced to a flat in other building 50 meters away through hard rain, whidh is not a hotel room. As tourists from Japan, we feel very anger and ineasiness agaist the way they had treated. Finally, we got a hotel room which is fairy god and has nice bus tab.

I think a hotel of these characteristics should have Spanish-speaking employees at least in the front desk, specially if we take into account that Spanish is the 2nd most worldwide spoken language. Quite short of personnel. The buffet breakfast was very little varied and with very few quantity of foods. On the other hand, decoration, rooms and location are excellent.

Very clean, welcoming hotel in a superb central location. Only downside - there is no restaurant so be prepared to search elsewhere for dinner. Spacious, tastefully decorated, quiet rooms. Overall - excellent.
