The worst hotel i ever saw. when i came there i was told that my room is at the another hotel "but it is okay since they belong to the same owner". i had to walk around for half an hour looking for the "another hotel" and when i found it i was VERY upset. it is like a dormitory for low-class workers - with very bad rooms, roaches, the light turning off periodically, etc. when i checked out the guy couldn't take the money from a credit card. and they had no espresso even for aditional money - only filtered coffee. keep away from this hotel!

We had returned to Blois from a bike trip in Loire Valley and wanted to be within walking distance to the train station(10 min). The rooms and prices need to be more clear. We had booked a 39 euro room, but the toilet was not in the room, so we opted for a 50 euro room. A minor glitch. The beds were plain but very, very comfortable. The shower was difficult to use with out getting water all over the bathroom, but we managed. This could have easily been solved with a longer shower curtain, or a "U" type of shower curtain rod. The tub was up on a pedestal and care needs to be taken to use it. The rooms were clean and quiet.

Although not a nice place to stay, it could have been worse. This property was not "quaint" or "rustic" ... it was "decrepit & run down". The interior maintenance has been abominable, apparently for long time. Think of the Bates Motel from Hitchcock's Psycho but set in the era of Moby Dick (1800’s) .... On the bright side, the desk-people were very friendly.

My wife and I just came back from a trip to the Loire Valley and we spent one night at the Hotel du Bellay in Blois. We are budget travelers, but this was by far the least expensive hotel we've stayed in several trips to Europe. We paid E$37 for a double room with bathroom in this hotel, so needless to say, we weren't expecting the Ritz. The hotel is in an excellent location in Blois. Just a few steps away from a pedestrian street where all the stores and restaurants are located. The owner was extremely nice, and despite my terrible French and his broken English, he was patient enough to give us directions and help us with everything we needed. He gave us the choice between two rooms (#2 and #6), and we picked #6, which was more spacious and on the second floor (first floor European). The room was fairly spacious and clean. The bathroom was ok. The sit-down tub was installed over a fairly high platform. The temperature of the water took some time to adjust, but once it was set, we were good to go. The only problem we found with the hotel was that the walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything going on outside as if it's happening inside your room. We sleep late and wake up early, so this wasn't a major issue for us - but I could see where it could bother someone else. The hotel is a good value for the money and I would stay there again. Beware though, as it's not for every traveler: some older folks may have issues with the access to the tub and the spiral stairwell, which was dark and narrow (no elevator).

First time at Blois and at Du Bellay. Stayed for 2 nights. It was winter and only had a small portable heater. Could have been warmer but it was bearable. Nice quaint place to stay. Very value for money.

This hotel was very quiet and cental to Blois as you are basically in the centre. Good eating close by.We had no problem finding a car park reasonably close to the hotel. The bedroom was quite small as was the shower but everything was clean. Our host was a delightful man and went far and above his duty when my wife broke her tooth on our second day in Blois. He rang round all the dentists in the area and managed to get my wife into his dentist the very next day and we were able to continue our holiday around France,Europe and the middle east.
