Great location on the edge of Casco Viejo, close to tram stop Atxuri. Our room was at the back and was very quiet, newly refurbished with an excellent bathroom. Good value for money.

Staff at reception extremely helpful . Hotel very clean, very tidy, modern, in quiet area and reasonably priced.Main streets and tram across the road City itself spotless and the Basque people the friendliest I have met on my travels. Will definitely return to both hotel and city.

we stay in Bilbao for the visit of Guggenheim . Hotel Sirimiri is noisy but near the old town and the main streets. It's easy to take tram and bus.

Visiting Bibao in autumn 2009, we took the airport bus to city centre then a cab to the hotel. Discovered best way would be airport bus to Termibus then tram to Atxuri which ends just across the road from hotel - much cheaper option. The area around hotel is being redeveloped - as is much of Bilbao so noisy during day from workmen and surroundings shabby. Once the work is done it will be much more attractive in an old town kind of way. The hotel is a typical 2 star city hotel and reasonable value. All the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful - advised us to avoid the San Francisco area - drugs etc. Advised us to buy the multi journey ticket to cover bus/tram/metro - good value. We did not have breakfast in hotel as other reviews suggested against, so used cafe across the road for bacon butties and coffee. Hotel was clean and recently modernised in traditional style. Beds very comfy.Due to weak pound we found Bilbao expensive. Weather for late October was warm and sunny. Many opportunities to eat good quality set menus for around 11 euros - wine included. Suggest three days in Bilbao is enough to see the city. All round good experience and recommend the hotel - affordable, comfortable but not luxurious.

We stayed in the Sirimiri for 3 nights and would certainly stay there again. We marked down on quietness and surroundings only because there was a lot of road works going on directly outside the hotel. The hotel location was perfect for the tram system and also for the Seven Streets.

Hotel is just 5 mins from the old town, and 1 minute from the tram which takes you right through the city and also stops in front of the Guggenheimer Museum. Friendly staff who make you feel comfortable and offer fantastic tourist information. Hotel location may seem to be in a small back street but it's not really that way. Would highly recommend it. Very easy to reach from the highway exit Miraflores.

1. The staff was excellent and very friendly -they even arranged for a pizza delivery late at night. 2. There is free parking 3. If you go by car be careful not to miss the small street you need to turn right just at Atxuri Station otherwise you get lost in rounds in the narrow streets of the old barrio! 4.Very cosy hotel, we would definately stay again there!

The breakfast buffet was very nice and a very good value for the price. The hotel + breakfast is a better price/quality value than hotel alone, so I suggest you take breakfast.

well, it was a really nice hotel, the location is perfect to take the subway and the others forms to travel... the stuff: awsome! very nice, kind, I mean I even left a pair of boots at the hotel and I realized it 2 days later, and I called and they sent those to my place... very nice people.

This is a small hotel, very conveniently located a few metres from the end of the tram stop and on the edge of the old town. Our rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable (though the orange paintwork throughout the hotel is a bit hectic!) Unfortunately we had a problem with the central heating so our rooms were cold. The hotel did their best to rectify the problem and were most apologetic, offering us a complimentary breakfast as compensation. I should also point out that it took about ten minutes to get hot water to the bathrooms on the first floor. Despite these problems we would stay here again as the hotel is excellent value for money. Bilbao is certainly worth a visit, if only for the amazing Guggenheim Museum. Public transport is cheap and easy as are tranfers from the airport by bus.

There is a construction site right next to the hotel. The noise started very early in the morning (at 7:30 am) and did not end until around midnight. All else was perfect!

Excellent hotel for a weekend visit to Bilbao. Good position on the edge of the old town, and a convenient - and cheap - tram ride from the bust terminus - the tram stops almost outside. The room are plain, but clean and in my case spacious, with a modern bathroom. Decent breakfast for the price. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and a mine of information about the town.

This must be the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in, guys in reception are so helpful I didn't need a tourist office. It was a bit difficult to find if you arrive on the metro as it is at the other end of the Casco Viejo to the metro stop, I soon realised that it is across the road from the last tram stop at Atxuri station so this is a good pointer. Don't miss the little museum to the Sacred Heart almost next door - there is also a church which I thought looked as it never opened only to find out next day that I had missed a concert (free) the previous evening! Lovely, lovely friendly city.

The welcome was good. The district is interesting with many facilities such as close to a tram station, train station and near the old town centre. The rooms are newly decorated and very modern. The breakfast is self service and very basic but OK. Overall good value and we returned 1 week later.

We visited for just one night for the fiesta (brilliant!) as we were staying in San Sebastian. The most helpful and enthusiastic receptionist I have ever met - he scribbled furiously on a map, telling us where NOT to go in a mixture of Spanish and English - "vino..drogo...punko!" , where to get trams, where best to stand for a view of the fireworks, etc. - graphic description of tram driver geting drunk to explain why trams stopped early in fiesta time! Someone still on duty when we came back in the middle of the night. Breakfast very basic but adequate for 6 euros, room very good value at 70 euros through Venere (advertised rates on door 80 euros). Very quiet, safe but central location. Only odd thing was no natural light in room as shutters were locked - probably because we were on the 4th floor and large (opening)windows would have been dangerous for children (or the inebriated!) I would have asked for the shutters to be unlocked if we'd been staying longer.

Extremely good staff, always willing to assist with any problems. Suggested places outside of Bilbao to visit, how to get there etc. The less safe area of town was clearly marked on a map for personal safety.

A very welcoming basic local hotel ideal for those who will be out and about exploring the town and eating out. Very helpful people willing to encourage us with our attempts at Spanish even though their English was so much better!

I enjoyed my stay very much and thought the value was good. It is conveniently placed for the old quarter and the tram terminal. The breakfast was basic but adequate. Some noise at night from what I think was the lift but then it broke down so perhaps it was just a symptom.

We had a lovely welcome and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and convenient to get to the town centre of Bilbao. The room was very clean and the bathroom was fantastic. The hotel overall had a Spanish feel to it and wasn't touristy or overpriced. I would definitely stay there again.
