The Domine Bilbao is a nice hotel and possibly the best in the area. The location is perfect as it is right across the street from the Guggenheim. The breakfast buffet was great. The room was less than amazing though - a little shabby - and the "Spa" facilities were a joke. The sauna and steam room were smaller than a closet and luke warm. There is no turkish bath.

Excellent hotel, welcoming and efficient staff, lovely comfy beds, modern bright room, very clean. Perfect location just across the road from the Guggenheim and a few minutes from the tram. The only down side was that we had a room facing onto the interior lobby and we could hear music from a wedding party. At 1.30am I called down to reception to complain and within minutes the music stopped.

Service was perfect! One of the waitresses at the breakfast heard me complain to my mother that the night had not been good because of the bed. The waitress came to me five minutes later asking if we wanted to change room. 10 minutes after we had a new room and someone came to help us transfer all our stuff. That is what i call a 5 stars service! And we had some postcards to send. The hotel offered us to send them and did offered the stamps :-)

We, me and my wife, was in the hotel the first time and only for one night and half of two days so my opinion must be taken from this view of aspect. But everything was googd.

This hotel is oustanding in location (great views of the Guggenheim from the terrace), amenities, comfort of rooms and attention by staff. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast in the terrace was a memorable experience. The only glitch we found was the poor performance of the complimentary wifi internet service, but this was a minor detail when compared with the overall quality of the hotel. We will most certainly return here in our next trip to Bilbao.

I would recommend the Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao to all visitors to Bilbao. Not only is it opposite the Guggenheim Museum, the actual design of the Hotel itself is marvellous. It is also close to a new tram system that takes you to the grand music hall, as well as other parts of the city. There is also a lovely walk along the river close by. The service was excellent, as was the breakfast (both the location on the 7th floor and the buffet). Our only wish was that we had stayed longer. Having booked a room with a view of the museum and river made the stay extra special.

If you prefer a well designed hotel this is one of the best. The location directly next to Gehry/Gugenheim and not so far to the town centre is also very good.

'A room with a view' - watching the sun set on the silver scales of the Gu, while sitting in a Philip Stark inspired egg bath sets a precedent. Uber stylish, underpinned by very friendly and efficient staff, GHDB maintains very high standards. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, provides a wonderful base to take advantage of 1euro pinxos. A twin exec room was spacious but more importantly boasted a wooden decked bathroom floor with glass wall. Nice. Execellent value when put up against London prices - one more reason to visit Bilbao.
