I had a very spacious room, beautifully renovated in modern style in nice old building in an ideal location. I didnt try the minibar, breakfast or Wifi so cant comment on them, but the PCs in the lobby worked well. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you can afford it - look out for the web specials. A little bit of noise from creaking floorboard above but not worth worrying about.

I didn't use the public spaces of the hotel so my judgement on that might be unfair. My room was ok, very clean, but there was NO WAY I could have a proper hot shower :( Excellent location however - hart of the old town - especially to have a walk and a few gorgeous pintxos at night. A brisker and more welcoming staff would have been appreciated!

The staff was the most helpful we encountered in our tour of Spain. The location was very convenient to the old town, shopping, and to the Guggenheim (which is well worth the visit!!). We liked the juxtaposition of high-tech design integrating into a very old building. However, the room was very small and a bit worn out. And the "High Tech" hotel, as they billed themselves, was NO Tech-- the wifi functioned only in the late evening when we checked in. For the price, you could not beat the convenience and service.

The website says this hotel has private parking but when we got there in fact you have to use a public car park a couple of hundred metres away which is 15 euros a day. Also the website says there is a pc in each room. In fact there was no pc in our room. There was one in the lobby but there was a queue of people waiting to use it. Our room was small and cramped and the hydromassage shower didn't work properly. We arrived at 5.30 in the afternoon and were told by a surly employee that our room wasn't ready and we would have to wait another half an hour. In fact we had an appointment and couldn't wait which meant having to go out without having chance to freshen up. The same employee was very cold and unfriendly when we returned. When we spoke Spanish (our Spanish is reasonable as we lived in Spain for a while) she spoke English back and only spoke to us once she had answered the phone even though she had seen us waiting to speak with her. We did not feel welcome at all and were very disappointed in the hotel after our great stay in the same chain in Madrid. I would not stay there again.

Breakfast was good (B&B place, so this was all there was wrt provision of meals), pricewise perhaps on the high side, as was the room itself. Personally I was a bit disturbed over only having a thin, although shaded, glass wall between the toilet and the room itself. But the location of the hotel is splendid.

Maybe a french view, but i asked for a double bed, and got two singles (twin). Another french view is about the card number , that fully appears on the reservation papers, which is really hasardous! Card key isn't really safe when you have kids in a room and parents in another one, the card must stay in the bedroom in order to have light on, and it's easy to get a door slammed and a young kid locked in, or out! If you use the hand locker to prevent the door slamming, it is cancelled by acting on the door handle. It could easily be prevented by prgrammating the two keys to open both doors(since keys are computer acted) Breakfast is very various and complete, but really expensive, especially with small kids that don't eat a lot at breakfast.

An excellent location and the reception staff were lovely. Exceptionally helpful. The room, however, has a little on the shabby side and was in need of some maintenance work. The room was also very small and you wouldn't want to be using the bathroom if there was anybody in the bedroom you weren't intimately acquainted with. Overpriced for what it was.

It's a modern high-tech hotel with massage-showers and a free internet access. The reception employee was very friendly and fluently spoke at least spanish, basque, english, french. The hotel location is perfect, in the old town and near a metro station. The room is composed of 2 parts (1 double bed in the first part, and 1 cupboard-bed in the second part) separated by a wall: it's ideal for families with young children. The breakfast is tasty too.

This hotel is just what I was expecting from the Patit Palace hotels. They have always been clean, comfortable and a great value for the price. Our room was small, but not really by european standards and we had a king size bed that was also rare by european standards. Other rooms in the hotel were large enough to have either a laptop station or a workout bike in the room. I would certainly suggest this hotel to anyone and will stay here again in the future.

In an absolutely fantastic location. Walking distance to shops, Guggenheim, on the river - brilliant. BUT very noisy both inside and out. The double glazing does alot to cut out the street noise but if you you have the windows open it is constantly very noisy. Inside, the laminate flooring means you can hear everything and the walls between rooms are very thin. Probably was more disturbed by the inside noise overall. I strongly suggest the hotel carpets at least the hallways to try and cut out some of the internal noise.

Given family room which was cut in half by wardrobes and bunk beds - barely room to move around bed!! Glazed wall and door to bathroom afforded little to no privacy and you would really have to share Room 208 with a very close friend indeed!!! Breakfast vastly overpriced - €12 plus taxes - go to one of the local cafes instead. Bar on top floor seems permanently closed. The location is excellent for the old town and walkable to Guggenheim, excellent transport links to rest of city. Bilbao is a great place to visit but sadly this hotel is not a great ambassador for it.

Stay here if you want to be in the heart of the action. Don't stay here if you want a good night's sleep on a Friday or Saturday. (Sunday and Monday were quiet.) Breakfast is €12 each. Coffee, juice and a croissant at the attractive Cafe Boulevard a few doors up the road came to €6.40 for two. The staff are nice. The shower is not recommended for technophobes. The room safe didn't work. We'll stay in another part of town next time.

The hotel is very nice, artificial styled, good archtitecture, and the stuff is helpfull. But our room was very noisy. When we made a little sleep in the afternoon the room next to ours (or above or below?) was being cleaned. IT was so loud that you could understand each single word and you could locate each chair that was moved. Because the room was located at the back side of the building we heared nothing from the street - and that was lucky because the hotel is located directly near a bridge, traffic lights and an tram-stop.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is very clean. It was also very quiet but I think there wasn't a lot of people staying for that moment. I can understand people saying it can be noisy with more rooms occupied. TV is only in Spanish or Catalunian but one channel in english (CNN News). As many other guests, we didn't take our breakfast in the hotel because it was very expensive (11 euro + 7% tax). It is very easy to get to the hotel from the airport: there is a bus every half an hour to the city center. You can then walk from Plaza Moyua or you can go to the termibus and then take the tram. If you go to Bilbao, you have to visit the Guggenheim museum. For the moment, it is half the price (7 euro) because they are preparing another exhibition in some parts of the museum. You can also use the underground to go and visit the hanging bridge above the ria.

A marvelously located "high tehc" hotel blending the beauty of the old structure and the sleck modern look provides a marvelous backdrop for a stay in Bilbao. In the "old city", it is conveniently located near the great tapas bars, charming coffee shops, and beautiful plaza area, yet within easy walking distance to the major attractions in the city. A place to visit and a place to revisit.

The location of the hotel is excellent. On the border between old and new city, directly at the tramway that brings you to Guggenheim Museum in 7 Minutes. The furniture and bathrooms of the rooms are modern and good, one of the two rooms we received was a bit small. There was a strange smell in the rooms and it was not possible to adjust the air condition (only on/too cold or off/too warm). The rooms were towards the small inner yard, i.e. without view and dark but at the same time quiet (the street side is with a lot of traffic). It is possible to have breakfast buffet (well stuffed) for EUR 11,00 per day and person. It's not needed to order the breakfast in advance you just go and pay with your end bill. Good choice for visiting Guggenheim and having a tourist weekend stay when spending a lot of time in the rooms is not the main goal. I'm from Germany and I was there with my husband and my parents.

The hotel is well situated and very good value for money, especially for the rates we got through this website compared to what they were charging other visitors. The main issue with this hotel is noise, you can hear the smallest movements of everyone in the rooms around you. This was particularly bad for us as we were situated under the dining room. I would go back, because otherwise it was fine, but perhaps with a pair of earplugs?

The location was ideal and the rooms were very nice. The hotel is a little too trendy and modern for my taste with glass walls in the bathroom - they look nice, but not very practical or private. The weekend we stayed there was a lot of noise coming from the lobby and public places late in the night, which made it difficult to sleep.

This hotel appears to be a couple of old buildings knocked into one. The decoration is modern and to a high standard. However, in the double room I had the walls between the rooms were not very substantial and you could hear quite clearly everything going on around. It wasn't helped by having laminate flooring which seemed to amplify the noise. There was also a large wooden post in the middle of the room - part of the original building I think - but easy to crash into in the middle of the night. I expect the brochure would call it a feature! The Venere rate did not include breakfast @ 11 euros extra. The location is good being on the edge of the old district and about 20 minutes walk along the riverside to the Gugenheim. Beware! some rooms at the front are on a busy road which also has trams. I had a room at the back. All in all, fairly good value for money at the Venere rate. It would be even better if it had tea/coffee facilites in the room.

Very convenient for the old town with its bars and restaurants, less so for the Guggenheim or shopping in the centre, although neither is more than 15 minutes walk. I stayed twice, and both times the room stank of cigarette smoke which was not very pleasant. You have to use two lifts which is a bit odd. Good bathrooms, although no actual baths. Air conditioning good too. Avoid the disappointing and pricey breakfast at 10 euros a head and go to the Cafe Boulevard a few doors away - very nice Art Deco location with cheap breakfasts until about 12. The free internet access is a definite plus and the hotel staff are friendly. Ideal if you want a cheap place to stay and want to sample Bilbao's food/nightlife. I recommend the pintxos (tapas) at Cafe Bilbao on the Plaza Nueva nearby. I'd stay there again at the price (about 46 euros a night) that we paid.
