Fantastic value. The rooms were neat and fairly stylish for the price range. The property was secure and staff very helpful, though some knowledge of Spanish is a plus. As other reviews note, the hotel is near one of the seedier parts of Bilbao, however, this is only really an issue at night. We walked through a couple of times and never felt threatened. Either way, it is very easy to avoid without going out of your way.

WE had a very warm welcoming on the Tuesday afternoon when we came. The receptionist described Bilbao to us and suggested what to see and what to do. Henhelped us find a shope for spare parts whic we needed. We are very satisfied with our stay in Bilbao. It is a very nice and comfortable city.

A budget hotel in an older part of town. Recently refurbished in a creative style, the rooms are very nice but basically no other facilities apart from a vending machine. The location is the problem. Approaching from the railway station the street is dangerous, but come up from the river and the building is in a zone that is being redeveloped. The hotel is just in the the safe zone. Old town is a five minute walk away. We had a pleasant stay and the hotel gave good value.

Nice staff, affordable price, clean & simple rooms. Design maybe a little bit cold. Surroundings not so bad, really close to city historical center. A really good option for budget travellers.

Very nice hotel with an excellent quality for a cheap price. Quiet and clean. Good location close to the old city and the river. A bit ruff walk from the old town if you are on your own but no big deal. Walking distance to most of the places you want to visit in Bilbao. Or take a very nice and cheap tram.

Hotel VERGOGNOSO , come l'accoglienza,la pulizia,il personale. Nessuna corrispondenza tra il sito internet e la realtà . No parcheggio , no AC , camera vecchia , sporca come i servizi. Dopo vibrate proteste ci è stata cambiata la camera con un'altra di simile livello. Sconsigliatissimo !!!!

The room was great (for the price). The location was convenient -- but located near a rather unsavory street (Calle San Francisco)which I made the mistake of wandering onto one afternoon. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experience. Very charming, welcoming front desk staff!!

While the hotel seemed a little rundown in the hallway, once I got into my room it was very nice, clean, with enough space for me and a spacious bed. There was some noise on the street outside, but closing my window pretty much blocked it out and to my delight there was even air conditioning! Friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel is fine but is hard to locate due to poor directions when booking and Bilbao's unforgiving traffic system.Access to old town easy but the hotel is very close to red light district and we didnt feel comfortable. I chose the hotel as it had car parking but this wasnt available - only room for 6 cars . We had to park about a mile away and use taxis to get luggage to the car. Just a disappointing experience. Unless you really have to i would avoid driving in Bilbao - stay outside and use the metro/tram system.

This hotel creepy - old fashioned was a little shock for us. The staff does not speak English at all (I had to use something like sign language all the time) and a Moulin Rouge kind of street is located nearby (with prostitutes and beggars, It was like nightmare, as we were getting near the hotel, passing this street). As we entered the room a terrible noise was coming from the bathroom, our toilette was broken and we had to fix it before getting to sleep. I know that I shouldn't have expexted much for that price...

A mi personalmente me gustaron mucho.

Overall we were satisfied with the price/quality ratio. The room was tiny but clean, reception desk helpful and friendly, the room was on the 8th floor and had a magnificent view on the old part of Bilbao and was high enough to stay unmolested by noise from the street. The bathroom was small but very new and clean. However, we made the mistake to take the stairs down instead of elevator - the floors between 3rd and 6th rather had the aspects of being rented 'by the hour'(walls painted black and "very special" illumination!). The hotel surroundings also contributed to this impression. If you can put up with that thought - a cheap place to stay!

The welcome from the guy on reception was great. However, our hearts sank when we got to the room. It was dingy and cramped and smelled dusty. Some of the bathroom floor tiles were broken, the shower had very little power and the hooks for hanging things up in the bathroom had broken off. We stayed only one night, even though we had booked to stay for three.

The picture on your web site does not show "hotel outside" but a picturesque view in its neighbourhood! It was very difficult to find the hotel - even with GPS and almost impossible to stop outside it in a very narrow street with a lot of traffic. We didn't feel comfortable with the nearest surroundings in the evening. The staircase and elevator were scabby. The view from our top floor room was splendid.

Awesome hotel and amazing for the price. We checked in early at 8:00 AM after an overnight train and there was no problem at all. Very comfortable beds, soft towels, great decor. Easy to find from the subway and very close to Casco Viejo.

I will stay here again! It is very close to the city center, just 5 minutes walk to Casco Viejo. The price is great, comparing to other places, is much cheaper than any other hotel, and the quality of the room and of the hotel is in general is very good. Very friendly and helpfull staff. I recomend it.
