Hotel Abando - Bilbao

The Hotel is very well situated with numerous Tapas bars within easy reach - the Guggenheim museum is a pleasant 20 min stroll along the riverside walkway or a couple of stops on the tram. The bars & restaurants of the old town are only a 10 min walk away & a large dept store ( El corte Ingles )is just around the corner. Bilbao is an ideal venue for a city break.

Perfect hotel for a stay in Bilbao, close to almost everything and a very very good rpice/quality relation.

Incompetent and rude staff. Rooms so noisy it was like sleeping in the street. We had to complain 4 times about the hairdryer hanging off the wall. No information about hotel services in room. Totally complacent and a rotten end to our holiday.

It is a very good and comfortable hotel in the center of Bilbao. But there is one only remark that is to be done: to reach the chamber we had to go up for one floor just using the stairs,carrying our luggage, because there wasn't any lift. I don't recommend the accomodation to people that bring with them heavy luggage or people that cannot lift heavy luggage.

Well located hotel, the rooms were ok but the welcoming was very poor. When we arrived, not a word to welcome us, to tell us where our room was... We speak 4 languages (of which spanish), we have lived 1 year in Bilbao and we haven't heard any kind word during our stay... Next time, it will be an other hotel... It's a pity because it is the only bad point of the hotel and my overall rating would have been totally different...

The hotel was perfectly situated for the old town, and also for the cultural scenery of Bilbao.

This hotel is plain on the outside but the interior is very nice in every way. The location is good; we walked to many areas of the city as well as to the Guggenheim Museum. On-site parking is a nice benefit if you arrive by car.

I must tell you that i am not a fussy person. That explain maybe this top opinion. Sincerely yours

The room was satisfactory overall. Room service was either not available or closed most hours- calls were not recieved there. The desk clerk at check in was not at all polite or courteous. We asked another clerk about the pick-up point for the SANTANDER airport- he gave us the point for the local a/p and refused to correct his mistake after we had reearched this and found that we had to go to the bus terminal and not where he had told us to go- very bad to give guests the wrong information and then not correct it.

The daily fare was not clear (my stay was for two days), at the end the hotel wanted to request the overall fare for two days (about 130 €)to calculate per day, I had to insist that I signed my fare for about 65 € per day, they accepted finally....

Excellent hotel - couldn't have asked for better - all sights within walking distance

The non-smoking room requested was not offered - the room and sheets did smell very smoky. The plumbing from adjacent rooms was extremely noisy. This would not prevent me from returning as every other aspect was excellent. Good value for money and excellent base.

In the town center, neer the Guggheneim Museum, an excellent relationship between price and quality.

The original quote was €50. The hotel charges an additional €12 for their car park, €10.50 for breakfast + 7% taxes. So we payed almost €90, which was a little bit more than we expected. The Hotel Abando is still excellent value for money, only 10 mins from the airport and in convenient walking distance from the Guggenheim Museum.

A great price for a good 4 star hotel. Close to city centre. Restaurants and Metro systen close. Only 5o metres from main rail station.

Bilbao is a beautiful city. The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance of many lovely sights. The only problem was some construction going on at the hotel which was VERY noisy in the morning. I would recommend staying there only after the work is complete.

Remodeld public area in 70's design. Very fashionable. Very good central location.

Overall, the hotel is very comfortable compared with other cities in Spain. The price is also reasonable. However, I need to pay 3Euro to get on the internet, but other hotel is free of charge.

The hotel is very good and centric. The rooms are best than the photos of the web.

The hotel was clean, and of a high quality, communication was a problem, but nothing which could not be overcome,the hotel itself was well situated for all the main atractions, and was within walking distance of anything in the city. Our only problem was the noise during the night, with three bins being emptied by different vehicles,due to them being different types of rubbish, we also had two nights where people seemed to be loitering outside the nearby bars, and resturants talking loudly from aroud 1am to 3am
