This was our first trip to Biarritz. Hotel Edouard Vll is in a charming hotel in an excellent location. The room was perfect for our needs woth a privat court yard. The staff were remarkably helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased and will return soon.

This is a lovely, small hotel, very close to the centre and the beach is just a 10/15min walk away. We stayed here last year and coincidentally were given exactly the same room. Unfortunately in so doing it made us notice small things which were not quite so good. The bathroom door would not lock easily and at one point I found myself stuck in there, this was the same last year although we did not point it out then. We had to leave the door unlocked and it did not stay closed. We found that we did not sleep too well, suggesting that the bed or pillows were not very comfortable. Internet access is available if you take your own laptop, although the signal was not very good at times. The provision of tea/coffee making in the rooms would be an advantage. Otherwise it is a very nice hotel and breakfast was plentiful, if a bit pricey; the staff very attentive and the whole hotel immaculately clean. We had a lovely meal outsoors in a small restaurant in the main street, where there are lots to choose from.

Excellent location-within walking distance to ocean and city centre. Little noisy at night due to a location being at the intersection corner. We had a corner room with two different french doors that opened up to the street. Breakfast was too simple-maybe too expensive. Eglish speaking staff and freiendly.

We stayed at this hotel on a great deal with Venere.com, 70 euros a night for a room and breakfast. When our flight was cancelled we returned to the hotel. Although the hotel was empty and we were the only guests we were offered the same room for 80 euros without breakfast, in my opinion this is not a very friendly way to treat guests.

A stylish and tasteful bijou hotel. Our four night stay was over too quickly. The continental breakfast is acceptable but needs to be replenished more often during breakfast hours. Just one English language TV News satellite channel would have been welcome. Evenso we would recommend this excellent hotel to all our friends without hesitation. Convenient for town and beach.

We stayed in a family room with bunk beds in addition to the regular double bed. The room was very spacious and clean with a great bathtub. It was partially below ground level, so there wasn't much of a view--we didn't mind that, as we were around the town and at the beach during most of our stay. Both people we dealt with at the front desk were very nice and helpful to recommend restaurants. We walked down to the beach from the hotel, and we also walked to all the restaurants and shopping. It is very centrally located on a hill between the beach and restaurant/shopping area, and it is very close to the public garden. Although the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, we easily found free parking on the street. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the first time that we had booked through Venere.com and it was such an easy process. I was impressed by the attention to our booking, emails and text. It was also the first time we had been to Biarritz and we will definitely go again and stay at Hotel Edouard VII. It is a beautiful hotel, the room was excellent. So clean ,so comfortable and smelled lovely. We liked that there was a fridge with a few items in there, but we also would have liked to have been able to have a cup of tea or coffee in our room. The hotel did not seem to have a bar or drinks facility. Perhaps if we had stayed more than one night we would have appreciated what was on offer. Next time we will stay longer. EXCELLENT hotel!

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of October 2007. The staff were very friendly, enthusiastic, polite, answered all our questions and recommended very nice restaurants to eat at night. The breakfast room was lovely with a good choice of breads and friut. There was also a lounge with magazines, newspapers and a large TV. The overall ambience and old style of the hotel was wonderful. While wireless internet was available it would have been useful for those of us who prefer not to carry a laptop, to have been able to log onto a PC and have use of a printer. This facility was not available. (There is however room for a PC/laptop/printer under the stairs , in front of the reception desk - should the owners see fit to provide one). That said, we would definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Hotel is a little away from the beaches but really only a short walk. Location directions need some work as while it is easy to find Centre Ville it is not easy to find the hotel from there. Need a good map of Biarritz to find road the hotel is on.

My wife and I shared a spacious and bright room, bathroom was also spacious and well equiped. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and informative. Breakfast was a little pricy. All in all, a charming hotel with character in a quiet neighborhood.

The hotel was great - the staff were friendly, the room was spotless, the bathroom was brand new and the living room (with big flat screen TV)and breakfast room/terrace are fab. It is a bit of a walk from the beach (10-12 mins) compared to a lot of other places but very close to the trendy Les Halles area for great restaurants away from the regular touristy places closer to the beach. Overall, loved it and will defintiely go back.
