Hotel Jardin - Bern

Stayed here for 4 nights. Bern is great city. Hotel Jardin is pretty much as advertised - 15 minute walk to the city centre or 2 minutes to the tram. Basic rooms but very clean - double bed was 2 singles pushed together. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast of basic breads, cold meats, cheese and fruit - but good. Quiet enough area - some street noise from 7am onwards. Also, restaurant on ground floor with outdoor patio, but it quiets down shortly after 10pm, so no real issue for noise.

My family (2 adults and 2 boys - 6yr and 13yr) took a triple room in Bern for 2 days. From Bern we also explored Zurich. Jardin is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. They are located a bit off the city centre and this is not an issue. 3mins walk to tram stops and cheaper to buy a multiple travel tram card to be used by the family. With the Swiss family Pass, kids 16yrs and below travel for free with an adult. Decent room size to fit in 4 persons. Lovely surrounding near many local eatery. Lovely restaurant 10mins walk away in Rose Garden with a view of the old town. As our last night was raining - we eat cheese fondue at the hotel restaurant. Great value for money!

Hotel was as advertised on Venere. A little out of the way - 15 minute walk to the city centre or 2 minutes to the tram, but in a very quiet area - precisely what I wanted. Great breakfasts. Basic furnishings. Very nice owners who were very helpful. Restaurant on ground floor with outdoor patio, but it quiets down shortly after 10pm, so no real issue for noise. Only noise was from other guests returning at night in the hall.

Nice enough but needs modernising, especially lacking in electrical outlets.

A quiet and comfortable place. Easy to get to downtown by bus. Recommended.

Our stay in Bern was a total joy and that began at Hotel Jardin. The owner could not have been more welcoming and invited us to use the internet gratis, which we greatly appreciated. In the morning, the breakfast room was very inviting and the hostess very pleasant. All the food offered was fresh and delicious. We definitely consider it our "home" in Bern. Julie Smart

The personal attention to our comfort and accommodations for 3 nights, from the look alike brother owners, exceeded any other hotel or pension that we stayed at in our 4 weeks of travel in 5 adjoining countries. The restaurant was friendly, convenient, and had good food. There was a bit of a walk to the center of town though.

The room was spacious and as advertised. It was exceptionally clean and well attended to on a daily basis.The bed was comfortable & towels were changed daily. The hotel was on the #9 tram which went directly to the old town, shopping, and sights. The breakfast staff was very attentive and the food was good. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel if visiting Bern.

This hotel is somewhat off the beaten path outside the city center. It is quieter, which is important to me. I stayed alone in a double with twins. It was clean, if somewhat worn, and safe. The price was very reasonable for Bern and Switzerland. I had previously stayed in the city in another hotel. It was much louder, the room was not clean, and it was much more expensive. Jardin represented a much welcome improvement!

The room was excellent and quiet, public transports were at 5 minutes walking from the hotel.

Within walking distance to Rosengarden: beautiful park with panoramic view of the old city from nice restaurant up on the hill. The old town is within 2 tram stops. The breakfast was great.

Very nice hotel, very close to the city centre with the tram stopping 200 metres from the hotel. The area is residential and very quiet, and my room was very big for one person. It is also only ten minutes walk from the Stade de Suisse football stadium. There is no air conditioning, however.

Very plesant stay. Almost no common area/lobby.
