Hotel Continental - Bern

Good place

No air and room very hot because the cleaning staff opened windows letting the direct sun in which heated room way up. Desk staff had one person who was very helpful two other desk staff were not at all helpful. Breakfast average. No fans would try another hotel next time. Great location.

Clean, confortable, well-located hotel in the center of Bern, within short walks from major attractions. Easily accessible from the train station by a 10-minute walk (no hills). Various cafes and restaurants nearby. Good breakfast. Nice young staff. 24-hour computer with internet access available.

Swiss hotels are expensive. And this one is "cheap" if you make a comparison with Swiss prices, even if it may seem expensive compared to cities in other parts of the world. Also yes the room was not enormous, but again in European cities you cannot expect spaciousness! (and the bathroom was enormous compared to mine at home here in Paris!) So I found the hotel very good for the Swiss price, it was clean and simple (but I prefer simple and plain to most of hideous decorations you see in hotels of equilvalient ratings)and the staff were extremely pleasant, patient and helpful. My room was a little noisy - but only because it was right next to the floor exit and some of my fellow guests were not very considerate when they returned to the rooms late at night. I wasn't on the street side, and I had a lovely view. If I need hotel accommodation in Bern again I will definitely return to the Hotel Continental.

I had a great room with a large bathroom, but unfortunately the noise from the street was enough to keep me awake, even five floors up. Lots of yahoos coming home from clubs. Also, the hot water was no better than tepid. I asked for a room change, and got a very nice, quiet room at the back of the hotel, with hot water. The helpfulness of the staff was excellent, and the breakfast room and bedrooms were kept spotless. I would stay again, provided I could get a room facing away from the street.

Very small bathroom, good location, good price for Swiss

Its a quick 10 minute walk to the city center...or you can take the tram thats right outside the hotel...the staff is an absolute pleasure and very helpful...

Would have no hesitation in returning.

The hotel is in the downtown. The hotel does not have parking, but there is a nearby parking, which is very expensive.

It was a little room...comparing with the price it could be better... Some noises at morning.. bells ringing at the windows... But it was OK... There is no air-conditionated at the room i got. At night, my bed was on fire... (summer Time) it could be great ai Winter, but not at Summer. Overall rate 0 to 10 is 7. It's fine!

Beautifull young stuff, very friendly

We stayed in a room which would be used as emergency exit. It made us unconfortable. But the room was good. Bathroom and toilet room were separate and very large! Very good breakfast and location.

Bern is an amazing city and this hotel was right in the city centre. Only a short walk to all the popular spots like the bear pit, rose garden, museum, shopping area and casino. Be careful of the public holidays, we missed out on shopping (much to my husbands relief) as 1st and 2nd of January stores were closed.

Bedroom small and with dust on the floor. Bathroom small, with dirty shower. Breakfast poor and with no fresh beverages.

Since we sleep with open windows, the noise of the opposing bars and night clubs (until 4 hr clock in the morning, Saturday night) was not just anoiing but prevented us from a good sleep. There is no mini-bar and in the morning a breakfeast without butter and Migros-type Marmelade along with a poor selection of Aufschnitt and a rather lousy coffee didn't make us happy. The room, in particular the bathroom, were tiny and there were torn betsheets. At 195 CHF during the week - this is no good value!

Hotel was able to exceed my expectation. Rooms are clean, buffet breakfast was delicious and satisfying. Because the reception is on the second floor, one has to use a small elevator, where only two people with luggages can use.

Camere pulite, buffer colazione abbondante e posizione ottimale. Personale cortese e competente.
