The famous KaDeWe shopping center and the Ku’damm (Kurfürstendamm) Boulevard are within walking distance of the hotel, as well.
This Gay Hotel is the best place to stay to check out the homosexual scene of Berlin: in June, there is the traditional gay and lesbian Stadtfest Party around Motzstraße, and the CSD Parade is only one week later, just a few steps away. As mentioned in other reviews, Toms' Hotel is NOT a hotel, these are "apartments," which I knew going in. The first one we were given was across the street from the office on the ground floor facing a courtyard and smelled moldy. I had never been to Berlin and figured that's just the way it is there -- old and smells like a basement! My traveling companion said it was unacceptable and demanded a different room! The guy went back to check for other availabilities and had one around the corner -- on the second floor with a view to a park. Beautiful! (So why the moldy one first?) My traveling companion also said that apartments in the area could be rented for much cheaper and that the only reason we were being charged more is that it is gay oriented. I agreed, but didn't mind paying extra for a "gay accommodation." (Meaning local gay magazines in the room!) But overall the location was great and the guy who checked us in answered all our questions. Ask for another room if you get the ground floor one across the street -- there are better apartments! I'm glad I used Venere.com to get the discount and didn't have to pay the full price! Yay!

As I am traveeling a lot I know even a few other "gay" hotels but I guess this hotel is real gay. Especially the whole staff member crew make you feel comfortable and I mean all guys working there, even the housekeeping boys are amazingly nice and do a good job. Accommodations like Toms Hotel make your stay worth visiting.

Reading Lights could be better. Sgl room quite small,but I saw twn/dbl and they were really nice size.Shower room really nice, clean!Excellent brfst (extra Eur 6.50 and very friendly staff in restaurant.Also had dinner there and very good). Small, flat screen TV which had dvd as well.Unfortunately DVd did not work. Clean rooms.Storage is limited, but if you stay a few nights , this is not issue then.Highly recommend as staff was very friendly as well.Only criteria is sound proof.It is quite poor.But beds were very comfortable.As budget hotel I rate this HIGH!
