Rooms are furnished with all necessities in a basic, bright, clean way. I was not disturbed by any noises whilst staying there. The hotel is very well located - there is a bakery just a few doors away, 2 S-bahn train stations, 1 tram line and walking distance (10-15 mins) to the central areas with lots of cafes/resurants/bars/shops along the way. Reception staff were extremely helpful and spoke English. The directions to the rooms were not completely clear in the confirmation email - it was clearer from reading a previous travellor's post. The main confusion can come from the fact that the entrance to the rooms is the first door on the right, whereas the reception is located separately at the back of the second courtyard (yellow doors) - there are clear signs for both. I would definitely stay here again.

This pension was great! A nice walk from the main train station, not short but nice! I was amazed at how close the hotel was to the wall memorial. I arrived at the hotel after check-in time. I had been provided with the pass-code to get into the building. The code worked but the door was difficult to open - one of those things where you have to pull it before you can turn the knob. OK, so I'm in the corridor and marching along to my room. It's locked. Ummm... So I call the number on the corridor wall and speak to a lovely gentleman who says that help is on the way. About 10 minutes later a man arrives, opens the door with a friendly smiling (genuine) apology, wishes me a pleasant stay and leaves. The room is just as the picture showed. Small but functional. Clean and tidy - no smell! The bathroom is also of a functional size. Towels are provided. After a quick shower and change I went out to meet my friend. The location of the hotel made it easy to catch public transport. Subway there and tram back. I staggered in a about 1am and was happy that I had mastered the door trick. The office situation was strange - the hotel seems to be affiliated with a residential - training program for Physiotherapists. I found the right desk to check out but no staff, after a bit of a wait, I asked one of the physios and she found someone for me. Check out was a very simple process after that. Breakfast was typical German breakfast fare: sweet cakes or bread, and coffee or tea. Boring but functional. The staff at the cafe were lovely and very forgiving of my terrible German! When I return to Berlin it is quite likely that I will stay there again. There was one thing about the place that I did not like: the Courtyards. They looked unkempt, unpleasant and unfriendly. If they were to clean the areas up a bit then it would be a great area to relax in. I liked my stay there and was very pleased with the quality for the price, and the location.

It located in a very nice neighbourhood, quiet and friendly not too commercial or crowded area. Public transportation is quite convenient no matter from the airport or to central attractions. Cafe and grocery are near by as well as fantastic Italian restaurant. The most important reason to choose Pension Mitte is the reasonable price rates according to personal experience here, I'll definitely recommend to those who travel with budget.
