Internet is not included in the room charges is 10 euro for one hour and must be used in 24 hours internet cafe is 1.30 euro for hour. Phone calls are not included in the room .25 euro per call per minute. Public transportation is not as close as lead to imply hotel is a 15 minute walk from metro, tram or subway.

I was in Berlin for a week, seven nights. Negative things: The hotel is nice but the room (cheaper one) is not so good (but is the cheaper one). The shared baths aren't comfortable. The cleanliness of room also is not so satisfactory. Positive things: the staff is so nice, helpful and polite (as all the german people). The hotel surroundings are perfect and quiet. So nice week, nice hotel, nice persons but i advise against the shared rooms...i think the rooms with private service are good. So if I'll return to Winter's I'll take the room with private service. Bye bye

This hotel is too far from the subway and expensive (bad relationship between price and quality)

pretty cheap for us was worked out at like 17 euros a night for 2 people. had tv shared bathroom with clean services so pretty sweet. only problem was doors were pretty thin so you could here people walking around but that happens when you go on a cheap holiday. MAJOR problem is the distance from anywhere luckily the underground will take you places otherwise we would have not made it to the hotel from the train station.

This hostel/hotel was clean and spacious, but it is far from the center of Berlin. We arrived in the late evening, and it was a little bit industrial and deserted after getting off the train and walking to the hotel. It's worth it for the price, though!

Reasonably priced, not too far from underground. Strange layout of floors - there are two wings each have the same floor numbering but are at different levels. The communal bathroom was not great but passable. The room was quite small and the lighting was poor, just one main light.

very clean, comfortable, but the price of internet is really to expensive and not normal, very disappointing. If you go there, you don't need to live in a beautiful part of Berlin...

Hotel is lovely with competant and friendly staff. Always clean. Although we had booked a room without shower or toilet, the shared facilities were always very clean and available! On each floor there is rooms with an without private toilets, so there isn't really that many people to share with - therefor I never had to queue for a shower or anything. We had booked a double room online and recieved instead a twin room and were told we could simply shove the beds together, this just resulted in quite often falling down the middle of the beds, but its probably in the small print when you book online that its only requested rather than guaranteed. After the beds were shoved together there was not much room to move, but apart from that the rooms were a decent size. There was a desk in the room with internet access but it was far too expensive. As was the breakfast. There is a wee cafe next to the underground 10 minutes walk a way which would be much better. Never used the breakfast at all to be honest! I had never been to Berlin before but if you have yourself a good map (although the hotel was right on the end of ours) then the world's your oyster. Although it seems a bit far out, the public transport is so amazing, and Berlin's city centre is so spread out that it never caused us any problems! The rooms were quite hot at night sometimes and if you leave the window open then on one side of the hotel you get the noise of the motorway right outside. I could sleep through it though! Apart from that when closed you can hear virtualy nothing. Absolutely the best place to stay in Berlin if you are on a low budget, you wont be dissappointed with the accomodation!

Perfect hotel for visiting Berlin, Metro is only 5 minutes walking away from the hotel. No restaurant but enough restaurants in Berlin so you have your own choice of food.

This hotel provide a room as price. The bus and subway stop is 7 minutes' walk from hotel. I feel not sound and safe in the road. The bath is outside the room. It is the modst incovinient thing.

We stayed at double room, and the overall comment is - it was worth the price. We actually ordered the cheapest room with WC/shower on the floor, but were pleasantly surprised when we got the room with WC and shower inclusive for the same price. The room was very clean, light and spacious. Modest, nothing luxury, but very comfortable and with everything you need. We didn't try the breakfast though as this seemed a bit too expensive (10 EUR per person), while we could have a cofee and a sandwich in the nearby coffee shop right besides the U-bahn station for 5 EUR for both. I would recommend it as a very good choice for budgetary stay just few stops from Charlottenburg shopping area (a bit further though for Kurfurstendamn, but can be easily reachable by U-bahn anyway).

Hotel made for guests by car: located just next to a beltway, offering parking places for cars, but not for bikes. On my bill they tried to let me pay x nights parkingplace, as they presume everybody comes by car!! Breakfast is not included and is an additional cost of 10 euro, which is too expensive.

Everything fine - but they asked me if I wanted breakfast then charged for very little, one of your hotels in Vienna did the same thing - they ask you if you want breakfast but don't tell you they're going to charge, which is a cheap trick - it's not a lot of money but the fact you're being duped is unpleasant, and rates as poor service. There is an element of deception - they make out they want to know so that they know whether to prepare something or not, they charge you at the end of your stay, so you have a cheap low quality coffee and a croissant and pay 10 euros extra when you are leaving. If you could discourage this you would be making custiomers happier.

The room was very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly. The hotel is in a residential area with about 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station, so if you want to live in the middle of the action or are intimidated by walking home at night on a quiet road, this is not for you. I did not find this a problem, though. The public transport is excellent and a taxi from Kurfurstendamm was less than 10 euros at night. The area felt safe and quiet. I would go again. Good value for money.

This was our second time staying at Winter's and once again they proved an excellent option. The room rates are extremely attractive, our room was spotless, the breakfast smorgasbord is second to none and - providing you don't mind a 5-minute walk - the Heidelberger Platz U and S-Bahns are easily accessible and will whizz you to the Ku'Damm in 10 minutes. One thing to note: don't ask for coffee-making facilities in your room - we mentioned this and the manager kindly told us it's completely illegal in Germany. Great place, though, we'd be happy to recommend it.

Very clean. Kind of far from the train station, but we had a car. Shared bathroom means one per floor each for male and female. The floors were split though, so it wasn't a long hallway with just a few showers. My first impression upon walking into the room was white--bedding, furniture, small pedestal sink.

This hotel turned out to be a good surprise. We had a double room with shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was always very clean and there was almost nobody on our floor we had to share it with. However, our room hasn't be cleaned every day. The breakfast at the hotel was a little bit expensive (10 euros) but you can eat anywhere in the city and food is cheap in Germany. The hotel is very well localized (in Wilmersdorf). It's not really in the center of the city but it's near the "Ring" (S-Bahn) and you can go in the center very quickly.

Our experience in winter's berlin has been great:clean room, good service and all. The only little problem we had was the fact that the citycenter was a little bit far from the hotel(about 25 minutes by s- or u-bahn). In general: very good staying!

Loved it very much. One minor disadvantage though: quite noisy due to proximity of highways, so when it's hot, sleeping with open windows can be troublesome. Guess the northern side of the building is better in that respect. Anyhow, on the whole I can surely recommend it.

Took room with toilet/shower in the hall. Room was a little small and smelled like smoke for two days. Stayed 3 days and paid 100 euros for the total stay. Breakfast not included (cost an extra 10 euros per person. Hotel conveniently located a few 100 meters from U and S Bahn.

The map to this place was absolutely ridiculous. It wasn't anywhere near where it actually was. When I finally got there (via taxi), I told the front desk about the mix up. He completely ignored me. I asked politely where we were on the map so I can orient myself. He ignored me again. I travelled all around europe that summer and never had this kind of response.

We did have a nice christmas markets tour. We did like that the hotel was away from the city centre. The public transport was superb. We did complain about the television in the room, but nothing happend. Overall a nice hotel, which we would use again. The map om the site is wrong. Do control on a Berlinmap.

In terms of price this hotel was an excellent option. We paid 29 euros a night which was the cheapest room we found in our entire eight week trip. Be prepared that the room is somewhat spartan and the toilets and showers are in the hallway. There were rooms with showers and toilets available but we chose price. It is next to a nice quiet leafy park and a noisier overpass but the traffic noise didn't really bother us. Breakfast is not included. It cost 10euros per person extra for a full breakfast. The rooms were clean and had a TV, writing table, and wardrobes. The staff at the front desk were welcoming upon arrival. The downside was the walk from the Ubahn station and the lack of eating options in the area. If staying here eat in town before heading home. All in all a good cheap option if you are prepared to walk a little and pay for breakfast.
