If coming from Berlin-Schonefeld its useful to know that the quickest route is to take a train direct to Hauptbahnhof and then the TXL bus service which stops about 50m from the hotel. This is not made clear from train station maps, but this route will save at least a good half hour and a great deal of walking between stations.

This is a basic hostel. I would like to rate the stay higher relative to the type of accomodation. For a basic hostel style place that is cheap, with good service and a good breakfast, this is the place. The shower and toliet are in the hall, but we never found a problem with them being unaccessible. There is no lift so if you cannot take your suitcases up one floor this is not the place for you. Location is pretty accessbile by underground and tram, although better web instructions are needed to get from rail stations to hotel, as its easy, but hard to get correct information from bus informaton (TXL bus). Breakfast very good. Rooms small and basic Some restaurants in area. Area is basic but safe. TXL bus takes you straight to major sites and to major train station. Clientele was all mature clients when we were there....

Only stayed three nights but with no AC we had to have the window open, as a result we nearly had carbon monoxide poisoning from the extremely busy main road outside! Didn't get a wink of sleep ever through ear plugs. The breakfast woman was nice and thats about it...

It's a very nice hotel, it's perfect for people who are doing a citytrip in Berlin because it's basic, small but very clean. The people are very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is very easy to find if you are coming by S-bahn and there is a diner(bakery) next to the hotel. It was super!!!!

We stayed in a 5 bed room, which is at the ground floor and in front of a cross-way. The noise was not so loud and the service provided was excellent. The room was clean, the bathroom in the room was very confortable, we had a Tv system with lots of channels, the people who work there are very very kind.

Ask for a room away from the main roads as traffic is heavy and starts early in the morning. The walls are extremely thin, be prepared to hear your nieghbours activities. Bring a large towel and shampoo. This aside you can expect very good value for your money, a decent breakfast, a very friendly service and just a very short walk to the nearest S Bahnhof. Also, the kebabs from across the road are very good. PS: The S45 will not get you straight to Beusselstrasse, you will need to get onto either the S41 or S42 depending on from where you are travelling.

Excellent staff and breakfast. The room was a triple room located on the first floor. The hotel is located near Besselstrasse Station so in about 15 minutes you can reach Alexanderplatz. Nice atmosphere and we will highly recomend this place!.

Was OK as a place to sleep - quiet and clean. However, VERY small, especially the bathroom. I'm a small person, but I found it quite difficult to manouevre myself around this space! The staff, however, were lovely. Was a no frills place to stay and served its purpose as a place to sleep when spending the days out and about.

Locatio is great - half a block to bus stop for TXL Bus to/from Tegel, half a block to S-Bahn Station, block and a half to Post Office with ATM, half a block to Auto ClassicDepot with its huge display of restored autos for sale.. 2. Hot water heaters for shower hot water are no good. Shower water is all hot or all cold. 3.The breakfast was very nice with excellent service. 4. No elevator but Michael very kindly helped the ladies carry their luggage upstairs. 5. This is not a resort hotel but it is a good place to sleep and eat breakfast with a pleasant staff at a, comparitively, very low price.

The service at the hotel is excellent, the employees are very nice and friendly. They provide not only an excellent customer service but also a lot of information about the city. We had breakfast at the hotel which by the way was served prompted. It was a nice start of the days, it is always nice to find a friendly face who takes care of your needs. The hotel is very well connected to the city center, the bus station as well as the S-Bahn are just few steps from the hotel entrance. It is not a luxury hotel, but it's good choice on a budget.

El hotel está bien conciderando que en la época que fui ya no quedaba disponibilidad en todo berlín. Está justo a pasos de una estación de trenes que nos comunicaba con el centro de la ciudad en pocos minutos. Las habitaciones limpias, lo único que no me gustó fue el baño, super pequeño y no había manera de graduar la temperatura del agua de la ducha! Por lo demás bien. Buen desayuno y buen trato recibido por parte del personal.

Very friendly staff. Very good access to public transportation. Best value but don't be expecting a fancy hotel for this price. Not all rooms have a bathroom but you can send an e-mail to the hotel to make sure that you get one. Overall- highly recommended for this price range.

It was great value for the price. The breakfast which was included was good. The staff were friendly and the room and common bathroom and toilet were always kept clean. Our room was facing the street so traffic noise could sometimes be annoying. The best thing about this hotel, however, is its location which is less than half an hour to the airport and the central station. The bus stop and train station are only 5 minutes away. There are super markets and plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood as well.

The room was very small and smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke, as did the bed linen and towels. The room was not ready when we arrived, at the time I had told the hotel we would be arriving and we had to wait in the reception area for half an hour. I paid in cash when I checked in, but was again asked to pay the following morning after breakfast. breakfast itself varied depending on who was serving it, one morning we had juice but two mornings we did not. The staff were not particularly friendly and I found the area around the hotel quite intimidating especially at night and would not have gone out after dark if my son had not been with me. I enjoyed my break in Berlin but would not stay in this hotel again, and would not recommend it to my friends.

The hotel is located on a busy road and very close to the train station stated in the description. It was just a straight way which took us 3-5 minute of walking with our huge suitcase. The hotel didn't have an elevator but luckily we had a room on the first floor. Private bathroom was available with no extra cost but we only knew when we arrived, so make sure you state in your reservation if you want one. The shared one was ok, it was generally clean and available for use. The breakfast was some coffee, ham and cheese, juice and a boiled egg, and it was enough to make us full. There was a kebab shop right opposite to the hotel which opened till late and was cheap. The owner was friendly as well. Overall I'm satisfied with the hotel with the price paid and would recommend it to everyone who wants a cheap stay with decent services.

was not aware whn made my booking that there was no ensuite toilet or shower however this was not a major problem as the facilities were very close to our room. The location of the hotel was excellent 3 mi walk from an s-bahn stop, there was no noise form outside the hotel although we had soem noisy people staying in the hotel and it was very well sound proofed.

Be carrefull, if you want to have a room with bathroom you have to write a special email to the owner to be sure that there is one available. The price with or without bathroom is the same.Some ot the rooms are very small and quite stinky while others are ok. It was also the first time that i was asked to pay before i could even see the rooms... globaly expensive for what it is.

I've reserved a room with bathroom inside, but what I get was one without it. Breakfast very good to be a contiental one. Employees, really friendly and kind. From the hotel you can take a bus to Tegel airport (line TXL, also goes to Hauptbanhof station when comes from tegel), and there is one train station a few meters from hotel.

Was a poor experience overall - the hotel was locked a lot of the time, even during the day - we booked two rooms, but because of overbooking one of our rooms was rented out and we had to move, even though we confirmed on the venere website. Be careful when booking the rooms online, and confirm all days with the hotel again! Apart from that, pleasant staff, an excellent room cleaner, good continental breakfast.

Breakfast was great - meat, cheese, croissants, breads, coffee, and good service. First time at Sickinger Hof - it's close to the U-Bahn and subway system and good bus stop, although the bus is crowded and makes too many stops before Brandenburg Tor. We took subway and loved it, and it was cheaper. Our room was too small to be called a "standard" room. There was no place to put our suitcases without them being underfoot. No place to sit since the suitcase was on the only chair. The shower head would not stay aimed at the person in the shower, and the water continuously changed from scalding to lukewarm, and water got onto bathroom floor. The towels were air-dried and had the softness of sandpaper, and hardness of sandpaper! And the texture of sandpaper too! We would find another hotel in Berlin next time we visit.

The place was nice. The bus and train stops where a two minutes distance. I originally requested a room with a bathroom and we never got it. The breakfast was really good, and the people at the hotel very helpful. Overall it was ok. For €50 for the room I would have expected to have a ensuite on it.

Our experience was very good: we enjoied our stay very much, and we recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Berlin without spending a lot of money. This hotel is a bargain: rooms are clean and big enought (even the ones with bathroom), common toilettes and shower are clean, rooms are quiet and the surroundings aren't noisy. The breakfast is really good and there are a lot of things to eat. We are a young couple, but we met old couples (also with children) an singles. If we'll return to Berlin we would shurely book this hotel again.

the rooms provided did not correspondent in any case to that we asked. no language spoken except german. no bar. no reception area. the web site does not correspond in any way to that we found. we were desparate and awfully disappointed. all comments on the website are truthless.

The main problem are the rooms. The majority of the rooms hasn't toilet inside. The family room has the shower in the middle of the living room and hasn't lavatory. Some of beds are broken, and the curtains in the family room give to pass the day light. Early at the morning is impossible to sleep.

L'hôtel est situé en bordure du périphérique Berlinois. L'avantage est l'accès très simple par les transports en commun, l'inconvénient est le quartier peu exceptionnel et bruyant. Les rapports avec le personnel de l'hôtel ont été excellents. Par contre, les chambres sont ridiculeusement petites, n'offrant que peu de commodités, WC et douche sur le palier plus que vieillots mais propres. De ce côté rien à reprocher. Par contre, les chambres sont bruyantes et si votre voisin regarde la télé en pleine nuit, vous la regarder avec lui... En été, vous êtes réveillé par la chaleur et le soleil donnant sur les chambres. Le petit déjeuner est copieux mais un manque un peu de variété si vous passer quelques jours.

The biggest advantage of the place is the very cheep price for which one gets a nice breakfast from pleasant staff and convenient connection to city center (10-20 minutes by bus). The bathroom though are extremely small so as to suit only very small-sized people, and the windows were on the side of a main road (very noisy). Finally my bed had a broken mattress (some sticking metal line in the middle). There is TV though if you cannot fall asleep....
