Staff were very helpful & spoke several languages. Rooms were ok, linen could do with being replaced, as towels looked past their best.I'd advise anyone staying to use hotel safe, as there is no safety boxes in the rooms & we had a theft of money. reception told us that there had been a number of incidents. Breakfast was good. Location to U-bahn excellent. Lovely Italian restaurant on next street.

Charmingly oldfashioned place very near to underground station. Nice rooms, quiet, good breakfast, helpful staff in the evening, unbeatable price-quality-relation.

The quietness was only affected due to refurbishments going on outside. My mum's only gripe was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and interested in what you wanted to get out of your trip.

We stayed in a small double room (with a very large bathroom and a quite ok shower) and were satisfied with the hotel, the staff and the price. Public transport is extremely close to the hotel, which makes getting into Berlin very easy. The immediate surrounding area of the hotel is generally classy and not scummy, and contains a very posh shopping and restaurant district within a 10 min walk. The hotel also has a 24 hour bar with reasonably priced drinks. Maybe this hotel wouldn't be to everyones tastes (neither the rooms nor the common areas resemble a white/sterile/office decor) - rather, the rooms and hotel have character.

The asset of the hotel is certainly the staff. All emplyees are very nice, helpful and competent. It was very nice that we could bring our (big) dog to the hotel without any problem.

Unfortunately, in spite of good window isolation it was a little bit noisy (very warm nights/window open/room at street side)- no air conditioning I have been to Berlin six times Good point: close to public transport

I wasn't really expecting all that much for the price I paid, but the room was ok. The en suite bathroom was Lilliputian to the point that it was quite difficult to even brush my teeth without cracking my head of the shelf above the sink. Most of the staff are friendly enough. I ended up jamming cardboard into the door to stop it rattling loudly every time someone walked past it, which was irritating. What will really make me go back though, is the owners. Really, really nice friendly people who I like a lot, and there was good banter in the bar.

Better once one is inside. Rooms are highly variable in size and bathroom format, but always clean and well-kept for an older property.

Our (non-smoking) room was at the end of a corridor. On the other side of the corridor there was a possibility to smoke. There was a small gap between door and doorframe, the smoke went through that gap in our room. That caused a smell of smoke in the room, especially at night.

We stopped in Weimar on our way to Berlin by train. The pension was in a great location, easy to walk to from the train station. There were even signs guiding you from the train station to the pension. The woman that runs the place is very sweet and works very hard to keep it nice. It would be best to learn a little German before you arrive .

Street numbering is very odd, so the Hotel is further along the main road than you think it is, but with a huge Hotel sign [when you see it!] Unfortunately a very late check in resulted in the night porter only speaking German, which although understandable is perhaps not what is required in a capital city Hotel hoping to cater for foreign guests. Clean basic, good price [inc good buffet breakfast] workmans Hotel, perfect for the independant traveller on a budget but not of good enough quality for a couple!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Savigny. It was perfect for the long weekend I stayed there. I found it exactly as described. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. It is a relatively old hotel and I noticed that there was a big difference from one room to the next. While my room was quite spacious another member of our party had quite a small, older style room. If you are leaving the hotel early, (before 7.00), be sure and pay your bill the previous evening to prevent delays. It is one minute walk from Konstanzer Strasse U-Bahn station and is a 5 minute walk from Ku'Damm Strasse.

The only poor comment reflects that the Hotel was noisy. Sounds are amplified by the high ceilings and wooden floors and voices and footsteps echo along the corridors, especially when the students who were staying there came in late at night and when people entered rooms either nextdoor or above us. Staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was very good, as were the comfortable beds.

When I entered reception it was very shabby and there was a bad stale smell. I discovered what the smell was when I went to the desk. There was a big smelly dog lying behind the desk!!! The smell lingered throughout the front of house. The decor was very mixed in the room also.

The bath room was quite small (just the shower and the WC) an the wash-hand basin was im the room it-selve! Looks a bit unusual! On the photo the bed was a big one for 2 person but in the reallity there was 2 single bed place together! The hotel has non smoking room, that's fine!

The hotel is in a old building. The owners has to make some immprovals - especially of the public areas which look very poor, not clean. old and in a bad condition. The pictures of the rooms published in the web site don't give you the right information about the rooms - most of them are very small and the big ones [which you can see in the website] have a poor bathroom. we made a reservation for 7 days and left after one day. have to say the staf was very nice. by the way - no airconditioning in this hotel and the TV is very small one [not good for my eyes]

The hotel is OK, and the staff, especially the woman from Mainz in reception, friendly. In fact, there is only one negative aspect: hotel´s situation. It is situated quite far from the center, and because Berlin is a huge town, travelling from and to hotel by U-bahn, for example, takes a lot of time.

My sister and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Hotel Savigny, it was very well furnished (IKEA anyone?!) and the rooms were a lot more spacious than we had thought when looking at the photographs. Staff generally had a good command of English although it did take one lady a while to understand that I needed to exchange some money, which was a little worrying as this seemed to me to be a fairly mandatory question in a hotel. Overall it was an impressive hotel in a quiet area, about 20 minuntes walk away from the famous Kurfurstendamm and 2 minutes walk to the nearest u-bahn or bus stop.
