Hotel located in a quiet and smart neighbour , with wide rooms, attended by families and young people. The underground' station is very near to the hotel.

A low priced hotell in nice surroundings, with just a few steps to the best shopping street in Berlin. A very good low-budget hotel.

Not so polite hotel staff. Breakfast is excellent. The bathroom was outside the room, it was not so good.

The rooms are huge, very basic and clean, and the continental breakfast is great. Close to the town centre, and lots of public transport within walking distance. We paid extra for en suite WC which we didn't have, and we managed to get almost half of our extra money back after a long argument with hotel staff. We didn't arrive until midnight, and staff charged our card for the whole 4 nights' stay instead of 80% of the first night as promised in the hotel information. They put the money back the next day and allowed us to pay cash, but our bank charged us £35 for the transaction. Not a bad place to stay if you're on a budget, but we'll choose a different hotel next time.

I just wonder why I had to book using my credit card and then I had to pay cash just upon my arrival.

The hotel is nice and clean, with an excellent relationship between price and quality! It´s not far from city centre and thanks to the underground and the many buses you can catch very close to the hotel you can reach every place in Berlin! I´d suggest to stay there! (At your arrival in Berlin I suggest you taking the bus 109, it´s very cheap - so much better than a taxi or a shuttle - and takes only 20 min.... The bus stop is Adenauerplatz and the hotel is in a street very close to it (I tell you because I missed the bus stop also because I didn´t know exactly which was the stop and I found noone in Berlin that could other besser wanted to help me so I looked for the hotel for an hour in the rain!) If you follow my advice, it´s very easy to find!)

This place was so antiquated! The rooms are ancient and the dust in them just as old, and this is definitley a pensione and not to be considered a hotel by any stretch of the word. The rooms look nothing like that of the pictures (the pictures are much nicer) Granted, the location is pretty good, but the place was one of the dirtier place I've stayed. The clerks do NOT speak any English and yet although friendly, can't help you with any information. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't stay there and would splurge on something a little pricier because this place was dirty, spartan, and definitely not worth the price I paid.

When we arrived at midnight, we were told that they had no rooms and took us to another pension...which was actually in a better location. The pension (hotel) was old, but the rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was excellent. The main problem was that they did not speak english...but if you know a little german...you will do okay. There is an outstanding restaurant around the corner. I would not recommend to someone who wants more than just the basics.

Posto piacevole dove soggiornare a Berlino, unico inconveniente è la non conoscenza della lingua inglese da parte del personale.Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

We liked the place, the people, and the breakfast. The location was great. However, the beds were so hard, it was difficult to sleep. The sink and shower had awful noises whenever anything went down the drain. We could hear our neighbor's sink and shower make the same noise and it woke us throughout the night.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. We would have appreciated it if the employees at the desk spoke English and could, threfore, help us with our travels around Berlin. They wanted to be helpful but it was difficult.

It would be better to know in advance that the hotel is on the 4th floor, especially when one does not like travelling in elevators! Also, an indication that it is located in an old-style german building. Initial impression on entering the front door is somewhat disconcerting but after arrival in the hotel itself (on 4th floor!), you sort of get to like the place. All in all, a 'typical' German experience and quite enjoyable.

In a lovely old building on the 4th floor is a improvised rather small hotel. The interiour of the room looked like 2 beds and some old furniture. The room was hardly darkened and for me that meaned getting too little sleep. But the breakfast was very nice.

For basic standard accommodation, good value for money overall - but you must have at least basic german to commmunicate with the friendly, but solely german-speaking, staff.

Hotel Rheingold location was excellent for the price. The staff was helpful in finding non-allergenic pillows and bett-decke without feathers for allergic persons. The room itself was very spacious. The only criticism was that the street door was not securely locked, even late at night, but as a pension on only one floor within a large older building containing apartments that wasn't under the control of the hotel management. However, the doors within the pension from the elevator lobby to the halls and rooms were not kept locked at night and could have been since a key was provided for those doors. However, the hotel may not have experienced security problems in that area of the city. The street had several other small hotels that appeared to be more attractive from the lobby area, but were undoubtedly more expensive than this two-star hotel which offered a very good price for a great location just off the Ku'damm and near the Adenauerplatz U-Bahn station.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist OK und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist ideal für Anreisende vom Flughafen Tegel (direkter Bus bis Adenauerplatz).

Easy to reach hotel, few undred meters walk from AdenauerPlatz metro station, very nice surroundings, with elegant buildings. Noteworthy the breakfast room, which a sense of beginning of 20th century. Breakfast included was ok.
