Hotel-Pension am Savignyplatz - Berlin

The hotel is situated in a great part of Berlin. Close to the bus terminal and station at the Zoological Gardens, and very many restaurants nearby with every type of cuisine in the world. The staff were very helpful in recommending how to explore Berlin. The morning breakfast is generous and there are light refreshments available throughout the day. Our friends recommended this hotel to us and we have recommended it to our family.

Well located hotel and reasonably priced for a capital city. Don't let the first impression put you off (the entrance hall is communal as the building is shared with people who own/rent flats within it, and a little shabby). The hotel itself offers no frills, however there is a more than adequate breakfast, it is clean and practical. The surrounding area offers plenty of restaurants and bars, and the railway station is close - Germany provides an excellent and reasonably priced rail service/network. If you are on a tight(ish) budget, I would certainly recommend Hotel Savignplatz.

Staff English ability was limited and could not therefore help us with questions for touring etc. Were cordial. Breakfast was good. WiFi was appreciated. Surrounding area was interesting and was close to sban station. Good location.

This hotel has a fantastic location, just a few minutes walking distance from the Ku'damm, the Zoologischer Garten, Fasanen Strasse and public transports. There are quite a few cute bars around Savigny Platz. We had a twin room, we actually wanted a double room but did not realise that maybe we should have specified at the time of booking. The room was very clean, although the room did not catch any sunlight, it was very warmly decorated, yellow orangy curtains, colourful walls. The breakfast was a continental buffet with plenty to choose from, fresh bread rolls, cheese, cold meats, cereals, yogurts, orange juice etc..The breakfast room was a very nicely decorated. The bedroom did not have any coffee and tea facilities, however you could use the coffee machine in the breakfast room up to 10pm (good coffee!!!). This hotel was very good value for money considering its location. Finally, you pay what you have been quoted on the website. This was our first time in Berlin, it was quite a very nice experience. People very helpful. We recommend do not miss the Dom, Check point Charlie. Try to eat german dishes as Curry Wurst and drink beer, we found wines rather expensive in Berlin. (did not see any German wines on the wine list).

Location was ideal. Savigny Platz has many nice bars and restaurants as well as other facilities like pharmacy and supermarket. The hotel is right next to Savigny Platz itself and the S-bahn, which made it so much easier to get around. The S-bahn line is direct to Schonefeld airport (S9) and to the main attraction areas (including Potsdam which makes a lovely day trip to see Schloss San Souci). The room was very clean, the beds comfortable. They only provide hand liquid soap and they don't change the towels unless you drop them visibly on the floor. The heating was very good. The walls were a bit thin. I could hear the person in the next room snoring!! The cold breakfast was enough to start the day. Only thing is that the staff on duty was fairly annoyed that we arrived at midnight on the day (flight delays..). Luckily I phoned to check that they would be there to let us in, but the lady was visibly annoyed and not very understanding that it wasn't our fault!

They have rooms with a separate entrance. Choose one, and you're so away from street noise!

Excelent location, helpfull staff,nice breakfast, I think for the best,one frigobar in rooms and support for late arrival.

Hotel staff were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, enough for everybody. Location of hotel was perfect, close to many restaurants and stores and central transportation system. I enjoyed my stay at Am Savignyplatz very much.

Spent there two nights. Great location, surrounded by nice restaurants, close to public transportation and the Ku-Damm. They gave us the private double in the back with the little terrace. Very quiet, bed was a bit too soft but ok. The only real point that we were upset about was that we made a reservation for a parking place that was confirmed by the Hotel, and when we arrived they had given the spot to someone else. It's an area with a lot of night life, so searching for a parking spot at 10pm on a Saturday night is no fun. Breakfast was small but sufficient. Staff at reception could be friendlier and make us feel more welcome. But I won't complain, for the location and what they offer, this is a real find. Although we were disappoint by the failed reservation I would recommend going there.
