If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive room located in a great area of Berlin, this is it. Close to both bus and U-bahn stations, lots of restaurants nearby at varying price levels. And the hotel owner is AWESOME!! He and his staff go out of their way to help in any way they can. I will definitely stay in Hotel Kima again when I go back to visit Berlin!

It's our second time in Berlin and the first time in the Kima Hotel. The Hotel is really nice, it's in a beautiful old building and it's just two steps away from the Ku'damm. Rooms and bathrooms are big enough and clean enough. Breakfast is good, but a little scarce if you (like me and other italian people) are used to sweet stuff as croissants and cappuccino in the morning. Public transport is easy to reach. The bus stop is just 2 minutes away. The bus takes you to the Zoologischer Garten, and from there you can easily reach every part of the city. Near the hotel there are a lot of good restaurants, check the side streets between Ku'damm and Kantstraße or the Savignyplatz area... The guy at the reception is real kind. We had a small problem with our room (there were two internal windows, light came in from the corridor all night long and made it difficult to sleep), but the day after we explained the situation and he kindly accepted to switch our room with another couple that was to come in the afternoon. Hotel Kima is great, as long as you don't look for too much luxury and sophistication. It'a a simple and cozy place, in a wonderful area, at a fair price.

We had very helpful man on the desk, he even loaned us an umbrella and a phrase book. It was a large comfy room, even though not flash. Price is very good for the location and service. Area is quiet , fairly central, near many restaurants and the bus is close by. Would recommend.

This hotel is in an old building in a pleasant area just off the Kurfuerstendamm - very close to lots of cafes and restaurants and within reasonable walking distance of Savignyplatz S-Bahn station and Adenauerplatz U-Bahn station. Our quad room was clean and spacious; the staff were helpful and competent; the continental breakfast was adequate.

As a family with young adults (20-22 yr olds) the Hotel Kima was perfect - located within easy walking distance from bus and metro - rooms were large, beds were soft and the reception desk gentleman was more than helpful - he called around for us to several different physicians when one of our party needed a dermatologist - great breakfast - great value...would definitely stay there again....

On my arrival was disappointed with the room as there was a shabby feel to it ie bleach marks on a brown carpet and chipped paint around the door frame, after my 4 night stay i must say what a treat this hotel proved to be,wonderful service from friendly staff in a fantastic city this had the lot a great location at very reasonable rates not to forget the excellent breakfast,we will be back.

For its position (on major bus routes to center & airport) this is very good value. Bed was comfortable and shower very effective. Staff were also very helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast was abit limited -lots of choice of meat but only one type of (tasteless)apple and only orange juice so more choice of fruit & fruit juice would have been nice.

This hotel is a family run hotel and they do their best to make sure your stay is pleasant.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Kima! Kapa was an amazing and gracious host who provided my parents and I a lot of information on how to get around the city and what sites to see. He was so kind and made us feel welcome right away! The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.

Very friendly hotel, well located and at a good price. we certainly got what we paid for and appreciated the courteous and helpful staff at reception after a very long flight. We would certainly stay again.

The young man at the desk, Cappa, took pleasure in finding musuems, routing buses and trains, advising on resturants and etc., immediatly replaced a burnt out lightbulb, is a natural in the hotel business and made our stay just great.

Our second stay at this hotel. The quality seems to have dropped a bit since '05, allthough it still offers good value for money. The breakfast offerings were good, but were exactly the same through all five days, a little bit dull. The breakfast ladies could also have spent a smile or two on their guests, we got that good ol' east block feeling. There were also no soap, shampoo or hair dryer available, pulling the total score down. We will, nevertheless, recommend the hotel for shorter leisure visits to Berlin as its location is tremendous, its prices fair and the service provided fully acceptable.

We found it easy to reach the hotel from Tegel airport by bus 109 - stop at Olivaer Platz. The hotel, a comfortable guesthouse in a vintage building in West Berlin, has its own atmosphere. Staff was kind and professional: they weren't obtrusive at all, but they gave us all the information we needed, included a city map (that was so useful!). The family room was quiet and spacious; breakfast was very satisfactory indeed. In the surrounding there are bus stop and U bahn + S bahn stations: it was very simple to reach every corner of the town. At last, in the neighbourhood there is a large choice of restaurants, fast-foods, imbiss... Very recommended accommodation. Best relationship between price and quality.

I don't understand, how it is possible, then you get only one key from your room and from the hole floor? And on the table there is a peace of paper where is written, that hotel's management is not responsible for the safety of objects containing valuables wich you leave in the room.

Hotel Kima is in a great location and is excellent value for money. It is a short walk to the nearest bus stop, public transport is very easy to use in Berlin. The room was large, bright, clean and warm. On arrival we were given a map of the city by the receptionist who explained the best way to see all of the sights and was able to answer all our questions. There was a good choice of food for breakfast, it was possible to make toast. The hotel is in a very old building which seems a little strange at first, reception is on the second floor and the breakfast room is on the fourth floor, the lift is very small but all this makes the stay more enjoyable. I would highly reccomend this hotel.

This is a very nice small hotel in a very nice area of Berlin. The room is spacious and fairly clean, bathroom size varies from room to room. Walls are a bit thin and we could hear the couple next door, but we were so tired after a long day we didn't mind. Breakfast is very good. The couple of receptionists are very helpful, polite, kept our luggage in the last day and let us use the showers before going to the aiport. Lovely stay.

The hotel was conveniently situated just off the Ku'dam and very close to all bus routes. You need to get off at Olivierplatz. The area was fairly quiet although one night other young people staying in the hotel came back late and drunk and were shouting and screaming at each other, which echoed around the corridors. The hotel is on 2 floors - the breakfast room is on the 4th floor, while the reception and many of the bedrooms are on the 2nd. While the breakfast room is slightly shabby, the breakfast itself is absolutely excellent and can set you up for the whole day. I had a single room and it was clean and comfortable, although the table light was at the end of the bed, as there was no room to put a bedside table next to the bedhead. The TV worked and had satellite - although only two channels had English programmes. The people behind reception are helpful, and although not the cheapest hotel in Berlin, it is certainly a very good value hotel and I would recommend it and would stay here again. The hotel is in a road with a few restaurants - if you arrive in the evening and dont want to search too far, the Spanish restaurant next door is quite expensive, but the Italian one down the road is better value.

For the price and the location of the hotel it was a very good choice. They gave me all what they promised and the service was excellent. The room was small but for one person it's ok, plus when you will spend the majority of the day walking and watching the city. The breakfast was excellent and I could take some fruits for my daily journey. I was in a room on the first floor something not so good because you only can access by the second floor and when you have to go to your room you need to use the stairs, the only thing that is not the best in the hotel. Anyway, if you are young and your goal is to spend greats days walking the city, thanks Kima for your services. The last thing, the guy at the front desk was very nice and gave me maps and a lot of tips for my journey.

The hotel itself was good, breakfast ok. The location could have been better, we were looking for clubs and partying, but it seemed like the whole Western Berlin is dead during nights. Also the main tourist attractions (Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag etc.) are a bit far from Kima. So if you're looking to party, I'd recommend that you book a hotel from the Eastern city, maybe near Alexanderplatz. And one more smallish thing: our room didn't have a fridgerator, although the hotel offers small soft drinks for the price of 1 euro.

Good location near U-bahn (Uhlandstr, Adenauer Platz) and S-bahn (Savigny Platz) stations, enables you to get to Mitte and other more dynamic areas of the city. Buses M19 and M29 run every 5-10 minutes on Kudamm to Wittenberg Platz (KaDeWe, U-bahn). Bus 109 to Tegel airport runs on Kudamm very near the hotel (Olivaer Platz). Clean, safe surroundings. Quiet and nice hotel.

I stayed here for a week. The hotel was quite easy to get to - barely a 1/4-block off the Ku'Damm. I had an "inner courtyard" room down the hall from the reception desk, and aside from some occasional sounds of people talking out there, the room itself was awesomely quiet. NOTE!: There is NO "internet access" as listed on the informational page for the Kima - there are, however, several internet cafes in the area (1 open 24/7 with a flyer at the front desk, and 1 good one at the Adenauer-platz U-bahn station). The breakfast room is fairly small, but the coffee is fresh, and there's usually salmon with the rest of the meats, plus decent cold cereal choices also. This is a great location for the price, and if I didn't mind no 'net-access, I would definitely stay there again. And yes, the old-fashioned elevator is a treat.

It was the first time we stayed at Kima!the hotel was as seen on the webpages!even better I would say..it was like an old "mansion" with wooden steps, high-ceiling rooms and nice balconies, like the one shown in the photos! We stayed there, me and my girlfriend, for 3 days! The reception was very friendly from the moment we arrived, the guy gave us some cool tips about transport around the town,a map etc. He could speak English very fluently! The cleaning ladies visited the rooms every day and the breakfast was really rich,in a nice room! The hotel is located in a very convenient spot in the city..by bus, you are in 5 minutes in the Zoo, where you can take the buses nr 100 and 200 which drive you by the most famous sightseeings in town!Ku'damm avenue is great for a night walk with its wide sidewalks and glamorous shops of fashion! The only "problem" we had was when one night we tried to find a restaurant around the block..there weren't many, but on the other hand this is Berlin, restaurants are not all in one spot, they are sort of scattered! I would recommend highly this hotel, and the price-quality relationship was excellent!

Hotel Kima is quiet, comfortable and clean and in a great location. The room for me and my two teenage sons was very large. The building has lots of character and we loved the lift. The staff were friendly and helpful, even locating and contacting a shop for my son. We look forward to our next visit.

Excellent place, just 50 meters from Kurfürstendamm, 6 minutes walk to S- or U- Bahn. A free map of Berlin and a parking licence (normally € 10,00 per day)is provided at the reception desk. Very friendly staff at the reception who gives tips about tickets for public transport and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Room has TV, shower and toilet, but no shampoo. Our room had a balcony with view on Ku'damm and was huge: 48 m2 and the ceiling was about 3,50 m high! Breakfast is served on the 4th floor and is average. Hotelrooms are on the 2nd till 4th floor, but you can reach them easily by a beautiful hundred years old elevator of oak wood. The price/quality relation is very good and we recommend this hotel to everyone who wants something else than the standard hotel rooms.

The hotel was located in a very nice part of Berlin. The rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel manager was polite and helpful. His English was very good. It is a close walk to the bus stop and a short walk to the S-bahn. There was some noise from some people one night but overall it was a pleasant place to stay and we would stay there again.

I was with my 2 colleagues for a holiday when we checked in to this hotel and it is indeed very nice and spacious. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. Our breakfast is good and I really like the coffee. The Hotel is near the bus stop, shopping area, restaurants/cafes (food is great) and of course the sites. It's walking distance to the Berlin Zoo if I must say. The place of the Hotel is very safe. You should really read the reviews of the Hotel. It helped us. I will definitely come back to this hotel if given another chance.

Matrimonio con 2 hijos de 15 años. Habitación cuadruple. 4 noches. Totalmente recomendable,

Old palace but well kept. We had a HUGE room. Great disponibility of the staff. Althought it is not near to the u/s-bahn by walk, the bus can take you to the zoologischer garten in a few minutes. Definitly great place to stay for that money!

We have appreciated the very good collaboration with the staff, who is available to help you in every moment. We will chose again Kima for the future. Alessandro e Federica

Excellent service - the staff were very welcoming. We travelled as a group of 6 and had 3 ensuite rooms between us which were clean and spacious. The family were very helpful about how to travel around the city to see the sites and where to eat (recommending cheaper options than those in the guide books). They also recommended us travelling on a group ticket - couldn't believe the prices - approximately £3 each a day to travel anywhere, anyhow around the city - excellent value!!! The hotel is situated in a convenient spot on a bus route (departing every few minutes) - yet away from noisy traffic. We've already recommended it to others and it'll be our first choice when we return! Excellent value - breakfast included - no equivalent in the UK at that price! PS Love the lift by the way - became obsessed with it - must have taken 10 photos in it!! Just like in an Agatha Christie novel - or out of the Twilight Zone!!

The carpet on the ground floor stairs was a little shabby, but don't let that taint your impression of the pension. The quad-room we had at Kima was excellent! Right off the front desk with balcony overlooking the street. They had two twin beds for the kids and a large King Sized bed for us in the room. The bed was very comfortable and larger than I was expecting from stories my friends were telling me about their European travels. Having the private bath was also very nice and having an elevator made moving luggage no chore at all. It was really a beautiful place in a beautiful location with a very accommodating, entertaining and knowledgeable front desk clerk - I loved just chatting with him. The breakfast was a feast, my only regret was that we only planned on staying one night. I would come back in a heartbeat. The neighborhood was clean and quiet at night. Transportation was just a short walk away.
