Hotel Eden am Zoo - Berlin

The Hotel is in a very good position in Berlin. Unfortunately building is very old. There is no elevator. WC/shower room was very noisy because of a pumping system (no drainage in this hotel). This system in our room was not working properly.

The entrance of the building and the stairs to upstairs were almost threatening and untidy, but public areas and the room were more comfortable. It was ok to stay one night.

Large room. Very convenient access to the U-Bahn.

Excellent and central location (near railway station Zoo and close to Airport bus and underground on Kurfürstendamm); generous breakfast;; --- the only drawback: the rooms are in the 2nd/3th floor with no elevator! Overall rating: very good price / service relation

Hotel Erden is in middle of Berlin, near to the Kurfürstendamm. It is a beautiful location, an old building but with modern accomodations. Our room was huge, although a little bit cold. breakfast was generous. It is a hotel where we certanly will return to on our next Berlin-trip.

Eine superschöne Pension, neu eingerichtet und zum Frühstück gibts soviel man will, vom tollen Buffet. Einzig und allein das Bad macht komische Geräusche... Aber im Großen und Ganzen, ist es den Aufenthalt mehr als wert.

The room was as expected - therefore the high score. But I would not like to be 'caught' in the hotel because of bad weather. The room I had was too spartan for living in-door for much more than a couple of hours. But as mentioned - I had what I expected. See You next time!

We greatly appreciate the central location, the quietness of rooms (on a court). The deco is .....

The length of the bed was only 1,8 m and the mattress was very old. All the interior was very worn. The carpet was really unsavoury and I did not walk on it whitout my shoes. The wallpaper was discolorated and ragged. Is guess the reason is that there in the corner of the room was an old douche and no ventilation. According to the webside there should be a radio and a color-tv. But what I found was a very, very old bedside table where there once have been a radio. There was not a tv, the only thing I found was an aerial point for a tv. You here every sounds in the house - including when the people in the room next to yours turn round in the bed. The location in Berlin was excellent and there was a very friendly staff. All german-speaken and some of them spoke english too - but not all. Breakfast was also ok.

We were quite pleased with the accomodations, the staff and the price. The only suggestion we have is: use care not to leave the windows open fully when sleeping as this may invite pigeons into your room in the morning.

Excellent value for money, good location, comfortably old fashioned.

If you want to stay near the main shopping street Kurfurstendamm and be able to get to the centre easily then this place is for you, if you want cheap and cheerful! The staff did not speak english but we managed to understand what they meant! inclusive self service breakfast was good. We walked to the large zoo,just around the corner. all in all we had a pleasant stay in a massive family room (just the 2 of us) and the girls had another enormous room next door. All for €50 per room. we would definately stay again if in Berlin.

The location was ideal. The hotel was old and historic with beautiful architecture and furniture. We were unhappy with the bed in first room we were in and after some ackward communication (the receptionist didn't speak Eng and my German is very limited) we finally got an excellent room the very next morning.

Take cash, they do not accept credit cards. This alone cost us an extra $100.00 because we had to go to an ATM to obtain extra Euros. We had two room, a double and a single. The double was quite large but the single was small. The TV in the small room did not work. The accomodations were old but everthing was clean and the included breakfast was quite adequate.

I liked the Hotel and the personal very much. The location of the hotel is very good as well as the price. We had a very pleasant stay in Berlin and we vill come back.

Sehr einfache Unterkunft, aber dem Preis angemessen. Ich würde für das Geld wieder hinfahren....

The furniture, electrical and water installation are much below average in room 20. For 40 Euro I would have not expected luxury, but the room is equipped very unpleasant.

Very poor noise protection from other rooms. Within walking distance to Kurfürstendamm and Bahnhof Zoo (train station).

The accomodation is situated in an excellnt place, close to many bars and restaurants. The room was a good size and very clean, but could do with updating. The shower needs replacing. Breakfast was good and I think reasonable value. The hotal does not take credit cards which is a bit of a problem.

It was very quiet place, which is good. I like the ole europian atmosphere. The only thing that I want them to add to the pension is the elevator. As a traveller, I had a few heavy bag, so it was hard to bring them all to the second floor by myself. So it also good to have someone to help us.

Website stated that owners could speak english but being able to say 'the room is this much' and nothing else doesn't equal being able to speak english. The pension is in Germany so fair enough if they don't speak english - just don't advertise that you do! Also all of the available tour / restaurant pamphlets at the B&B only appeared to be in German so not much help.
