The hotel is located very close to the Berlin Ostbahnhof. There is a big Kaufhof next to it, where we went for breakfast during weekdays as the hotel charges 14Euro p.person. Else the surroundings are living quarters. We were lucky because we got upgraded to an apartment room which provided a small kitchen, too. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful to book tickets for a evening comedy show (which on the night before New Year's Eve was more difficult than expected). The gym facilities are very small, but sufficient. For the sauna daily changing aromatic scents are provided. We had a very good stay and can fully recommend the hotel, when we will return to Berlin we will consider staying there again.

If your plan is to stay near the centre in an interesting hotel and you do not hate to be in the eastern part of berlin, this hotel is probably one of the best choices. Berlin "Ost-Bahnhof" is only a three-minute-walk from the hotel but you won´t be disturbed !

A lovely hotel, in the great location only a couple of minutes walk from the train station and very helpful staff. Rooms were spacious, clean and quiet and the food in the restaurant was very nice. My only minor complaint was that we had to pay extra for breakfast which we hadn't been told about beforehand - we'd assumed it would be included in the price and it was quite an expensive extra.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are modern, stylish, and well-equipped. Our room was quiet and comfortable, very welcome in mid-January. The hotel is in an old converted building, possibly a school or factory, so some of the features are very post-industrial (and quite interesting). The staff got the balance just right, friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the food. It’s 90 seconds away from the Ostbanhof, so transport is excellent. There’s also a department store/supermarket 60m from the door. The hotel is in the middle of a big 60’s high-rise development; this may put some people off, but I didn’t mind. I thought the area felt pretty safe (but I'm from Glasgow), and I’d have no problem about going there again.

The Inn Side has a very modern feel to it. The best part of this hotel is the bed. It was incredibly comfortable; one of the most comfortable I've slept on...ever. The hotel is very close to a German grocery store so you can pick up food, and drink, anything you want at a fraction of the cost of convenience stands. The hotel is also close to the elevated public train system so getting around the city is easy; although you are on the east side of Berlin, so it may be a ways to get to some tourist sites. Don't be fooled by the hotels proximity to the train tracks; the rooms are very quiet. The only thing about the hotel that I wasn't a fan of was the fact that there is a window between the bathroom and the sleeping room, which allows the person in the shower to look out through the sleeping room to outside. (Only the shower and sink area, the toilet is in its own separate, fully walled room.) This may be a bit awkward for friends as you could accidentally see your buddy in the shower...of course, if you stayed here with your girlfriend or wife, the window could be a very good thing. All in all, a fantastic stay.

It was lucky, that we were provided with a suite room for the rate for a double room because all the normal rooms were fully booked . Anyway all the rooms (including normal rooms) are furnished in a very modern and artistic way. The wall must have been so thick that we didn't hear anything outside.

Reception assigned us to the wrong type of room and when we asked to change denied that we had reserved a suite even though we could see "suite" printed out on her reservation form. After some coaxing, she assigned us to the type of room we had reserved. Seemed duplicitous to me.

I travel a lot, I have seen a lot of hotels. this one is good. next time I be in Berlin it is on my list .

If you can afford it, this is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are wonderful. Really close to a main U Bahn (Ostbanhoff) and easy to get to from Berlin Schonefeld(SXF)airport. Only 200 mtrs from the Hotel is a fantastic Cuban restaurant (turn left when leaving the hotel). Will definately be returning to Berlin and this hotel.

Excellent Hotel, from the moment we arrived we were treated with like Royalty. The Hotel room was amazing, (The Modern Art Suite). All staff spoke good English and were always polite and helpfull. I'm already planning my next visit.... would reccomend the Hotel to anyone.

We will recommend Inn Side Residence-Hotel as a very good choice for all people coming by train (ICE).
