I've travelled all over Europe and this was by far the smallest room I've ever stayed in. There was mildew in the shower. The breakfast spread was pretty good with a typical German breakfast. The lift/ elevator wasn't always working. I really wished that there was a comfortable place to sit in my room. The internet was reliable. All in all, I paid too much for this place. It would have been okay at half the price.

4 days. Difficult to find small and pleasant restaurants in that area of Berlin. Would be pleased to get more information about the previous use of the hotel; very interesting and mysterious building.

To avoid room nr. 109 we requested a triple comfort room and the first night we were in a dirty room, the batroom was broken and from the shower came out all sorts of dirty elements, the dust was everywhere as well as spider webs. We changed the room insisting only the next afternoon. The new rooms was more clean. Dust, however was always present. The bathroom and the shower were ok. The breakfast was ok.

The hotel was very nice - some of the furniture was a bit worn, but not a very big problem. The breakfast room was crowded, please come early or you will have problems finding a table...

I would not stay in this hotel again. The positives were that the room was large, and the beds were comfortable. The disadvantages were the curtains being thin and not covering the window entirely, so I had to get changed in the bathroom to stop people being able to see me. We had a private bathroom, as requested, but whenever I ran water, the toilet belched, and when the toilet was flushed the lights flickered. The drainage in the shower was poor, and whilst we were at breakfast, someone went into our room, their presence being indicated by a dried apricot they had dropped. Breakfast was acceptable, but not fantastic.

The hotel is actually close to Kurfurstendamm which means that it's very easy to reach the Metro e a lot of buses. And it's true that breakfast buffet is very good. But on the other side I've met a lot of problem: at my arrival the room was not ready notwithstanding that via email I told the timetable of my arrival: no apologizes from the stuff. The room they gave me was completley different from the one shown on the website: it was incredibly small, with poor and not goodlooking furniture, with uncleaned and old curtain and carpet and the bathroom was old and with the bathtube (instead of the shower) completely uncleaned. The staff spoke a very poor English and they were not from germany so it wasvery difficult to talk and explain my disappointment.

L'hotel è in posizione buona per visitare berlino. E' silenzioso e la colazione è ottima e abbondante. Le camere però (nonostante io abbia scelto la versione confort) non hanno bagno in camera ma solo doccia e lavabo.

The outside of the hotel is uninspiring, even off-putting, but once inside it was very nice. The breakfast was especially good and our room was airy and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and the staff efficient and unobstrusive. Directions to the hotel were spot on and there were a number of pubs and decent restaurants within walking distance. It was only a short walk to the Kurfurstendam and a slighly longer walk or short bus-ride to the Zoologischer Garten S-bahn and main bus-station. Altogether very good value for money.

Unusually for a city hotel my room came with a balcony though being November I didn't use it much. Reception staff were courteous & friendly. Hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from nearest U-bahn (Underground) station (Uhlandstrasse) and a 5-10 minute walk from buses that can take you to Zoologischer Garten S+U-bahn. It does not take long to get from the hotel to further into the centre of the city. The only minor fault I found was that the floorboards in certain parts of my room were a bit creaky and as I tended to get back to the hotel late I was worried I might be disturbing people in the room underneath. To get around Berlin check out www.bvg.de This is Berlins transport authority and includes maps, journey planner and details on fares in German or English.
