The Hotel Astrid was opened in 1951, and it is located in a luxurious old building with magnificent style. The building is an architectural monument and is protected by the state.
From some rooms you can see the Kurfürstendamm (the main shopping boulevard of Berlin), which is only 20 meters from the hotel. The other rooms overlook a very green and quiet courtyard. We have a small bar in the reception area and our breakfast room can be used as a conference room for up to 40 persons.
The Hotel Astrid offers 25 rooms of different sizes. All of them were completely modernized in 2001, but still preserve their original character, with high ceilings and parquet floors. Some rooms also have a balcony.

Hotel Reviews Astrid am Kurfürstendamm
Estonia, Oct 2008
I was staying in this hotel with my mom during our shopping trip. We were very pleased. Great location, room was ok,breakfast was also ok for us. The lady in the reception also spoke Russian, which was great as my mom doesn't speak any English. Reasonably priced hotel for short break in Berlin. I would recommend it.

l'albergo è vecchio, triste e non efficiente, il bagno è piccolo e poco funzionante, i letti grandi ma scomodi,le federe dei cuscini strappate, in genere non all'altezza del prezzo.

The staff is very welcoming and at the same time it is not too much. Perfect location! Berlin is a beautiful green city with lots of nice cafés, restaurants and taverns. Not the last time we have been there.

Old Building not renewed in common areas. The bathroom was rather small and old but was clean and everything worked well. The elevator is very old but for that very fancy in my opinion and worked well too. Breakfast rather essential and in a familiar context but enough for us and proportioned to the price payed and to the type of hotel. Some dust under the beds in the room. Very positive features: Great location. Room very spacious with balcony. Free internet in the breakfast room. Briefly good price/quality rate.

I stayed in Berlin just one night for a meeting. The excellent location of the hotel allowed us also to take a direct bus to the airport very early in the morning. Our rooms (and the breakfast room) were spacious and quiet.

The description of "suite" does not quite match mine. The smell of smoking in a non-smoking room is not pleasant.

We were very satisfied with the hotell. We had one 3 beds and one 4 beds room and they were big with nice beds and bathrooms.

We found the hotel as such very nice. Cosy and with very good surroundings. The adress was perfect. The rooms were very nice. Though the heat taken into concideration we lacked either airconditioning or a fan. We had neither of the things. The service and the way we were treated is another matter. We were 10 people and from the moment we stepped in the door we did not feel very wanted. Our kids were not treated very well and neither were we. Actually our stay ended with a fight with the woman who we think might be the hotel manager. Because of this we will actually not consider to go back to Astrid at Kurfurstendam.

What a disaster. This place is a dump. My family has stayed in many hotels in our time in Europe (many booked through Venere) but never have we stayed in such a miserable establishment. What we where given as a 'hotel room' was actually an old dining or formal room that had beds placed in it. The bed my daughter was given to sleep on had springs poking her in the back, the room fronted the street and was extremely noisy and hot throughout the night, the bathroom was literally as wide as the tiny shower (don't let the pictures fool you), the room was not cleaned very well, the in-room safe didn't work and to use it cost 3 euros/day. We relocated after 2 days but were told we would be charged for the third night since we booked in advance. Don't stay here (there is a much nicer Holiday Inn on the same street and they charged us the same price after we checked out).

We did not like this hotel at all and chose to relocate after the first night. Very dreary and dark, old and creaky. Not what we had anticipated and certainly not what it looked like in the photographs.

The hotel were unable to fulfill simple requests such as extra pillows. The location is great but the hotel is a bit dated and in need of some TLC.Breakfast was very good.

Excellent location. Very close to S-Bahn. Nice restaurants around. Very welcoming. Our family room was quite spacious. Bathroom small but the shower was quite good. Reasonably clean. I was told they have better family room on third floor. Friendly staff who could speak english. Good value for money. Would stay there again.

Lovely historic building with interior modernization. Old elevator is a hoot! Nice area of Berlin close to S- and U-Bahn and great for "seeing" Berlin. Web site stated "private parking", but we were told this had to be reserved when the room was reserved so we had to pay €13 per day street parking. Nice, typical German breakfast was included.

Good value hotel in a pleasant area. Some refurbishment still needed. A dingy approach to first floor reception was off putting, but it imprved after that.

Pros: great location, nice room, good breakfast, accomodating staff (we got everything we asked for, including a non-smoking room facing away from the street). Cons: creaky floors and a small bathroom. The staff's english was limited, but adequate.

this is a nice little quiet hotel and conveniently located. quality vs. price was rather good. their antique (and still operational) elevator is really unique and fun to experience. rooms were adequate with a lovely high ceiling. only bathroom was rather cramped. the staff was courteous but not overly friendly. no complaints about the breakfast and we appreciated the free use of their internet. all in all we had a very pleasant stay in this hotel and would stay there again.

The location and the type of the building are very interesting, but the cleanness is not the best and the conditions of the floor (moquette) is poor; the sheets are too old. It was irritating the complete lack of towels the first day. The furniture is complete but a little forlorn. We didn't imagine that not all the building is dedicated to the hotel (there are also private apartments using the same stair). Notwithstanding, the staying was happy (after the first day) and we could imagine to go again to the same hotel in Berlin.

hotel lost orignal booking. We telephoned a few days before arrival and the hotel had no record of our booking. They gave two of us two small rooms for our first night then moved us for the next few days. but it was totally unacceptable to lose a booking made. Also there was loads of teanagers staying on the sunday night and the noise level made it impossible to sleep. If we wanted a youth hostel we would have booked one .

Little cleaning in rooms during an extended stay. Staff were helpful. Very good daily breakfast. There were much nicer rooms in the hotel. Unfortunately, we were placed in a smaller, less quality room.
