Hotel Reviews Astoria

This hotel is centrally located (1 block to Zoologischer Garten metro station) and overall is quite nice. We had beatiful modern and very spacious room, however, Wi-Fi Internet access didn't reach it. I wasn't too happy about that, and when I brought this up, they gave us a choice of another available room on a lower floor, which did have Wi-Fi. They said that network coverage would eventually be provided for the entire building. If Internet is important to you, call them ahead to make sure it works. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Firstly the area where the hotel is situated is perfect. It is positioned on a quiet side street but near to the centre of former West Berlin, very near the main shops am Kurfurstendam, near the route for the tour bus (for which the reception staff can arrange a shuttle pick up from the hotel) and near the "Story of Berlin". There are a great variety of eating places within easy walking distance of the hotel. (The hotel has no evening dining facilities). Secondly, the hotel was very comfortable and welcoming in a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable (although no air conditioning), very clean, free internet access provided in the reception and a good breakfast was included in the breakfast room. A nearby room door was open when I noticed that there carpet looked as though it needed renewed. That was not the position in our room and so it may be that the hotel are recarpeting gradually throughout. The staff were helpful and friendly. In summary, this was a well postioned, comfortable hotel to explore Berlin and good value for money. We would certainly have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

The Hotel Astoria is very well located by the Zoo station providing access to a major train station. It is also in an area with great shopping and restaurants.

This was our first visit to Berlin. The hotel was very centrally located. It would have been nice to have breakfast included in price. Rooms were clean and well serviced. the third bed was a little small perhaps better suited to a child and we were three adults. Room could have been a little bigger for comfort. Manager of hotel very friendly and helpful. Payed by cash for room and the hotel also charged my credit card in error so payed twice. I only realized when I received my credit card bill. Took hotel about two weeks to rectify. A bit of a nuisance but would stay there again as overall good experience.

Very good hotel for the price. Near everything as, S-Bahn, U-bahn, busstation, shopping, good restaurants, parks and sights. The breakfast was very good too. We see forward to return at this hotel next time we visit Berlin. If you are a person how want fasion and glamour, this is not a hotel for you. This is a natural Berlin Hotel with charm!

The hotel makes a charge for the amount of the reservation a month before to be sure that there is money enough and then cancell it a week later. That´s not funny. A small hotel with small services. The room has nothing to be with the picture shown in the web (One matrimonial bed is not two beds in angle...) Every thing was in good state of service, clean and the employees were polaid.

A very pleasant small hotel with good room & excellent breakfast. Very convenient for S-bahn & U-bahn. Map shows it on wrong side of main road but it is easy to spot.Venere entry mentions a pool but this seems to be an error.
