Nice little hotel with friendly stuff in a good loction, very close to public transport and lots of bars/restaurants. Room was clean and spacy, bathroom new but very small. Heating and shower were excellent, and kept us warm, though we had minus-degrees outside. Breakfast was good and ok for the money, nothing special. The hotel rooms are based in the ground level of a residential building, where 'real people' are living, so we had to suffer at night from loud music from the people living on the floor above us. The street next to our window wasn't as noise as expected, so without the techno-music from above we would have slept quite well... What i didn't like was the quite worn furniture and beds (3 different style chairs...) in the room and the fact that there was no carpet.

Hotel is on an unassuming street, but has excellent access to anything in Berlin, whether by walking or public transportation. Room very simply furnished but clean, and was tidied for us each day. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Do your research before parking in the area, we ended up paying 60 euro per day in the lot we used!!

Hotel Amelie Berlin is right in the middle of Berlin-Mitte, with a lot of sights in walking distance. It can easily be reached by train, bus and city railway. It has simple, but efficent rooms.

Hotel Amelie was fantastic. It was cheap and right in the middle of everything, within walking distance to all of the major attractions, but still quiet in its location on a street off of Friederichstrasse. The room wasn't extravagant, but it was comfortable and we actually got three beds (instead of two beds and a cot or something similar). The staff is worth mentioning -- we got stuck in a ridiculous traffic jam on the highway on our way there and wound up more than three hours late for our already late arrival. We called while we were stuck, and the person at the front desk went out of their way not only to wait until midnight for us to show up, but also gave us their cell number in case we arrived later so that they could come back to the hotel and let us in. Fantastic service, great people -- I would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely stay there again!

Apartments converted to an hotel. I and my husband had a small section consisting of two rooms with single beds and also shower/toilet cubicula. It was quiet, clean and tidy. However, we expected to be together during the stay, not in separate rooms. Breakfast was not provided. Location was convenient for sightseeing and city transport, people were friendly and polite.

The location of the hotel was excellent, at walking distance of the main Berlin landmarks and two blocks from two different subway and train stations. The area is quiet and safe. The reception is in a different building (entrance)from de rooms, which is a little weird, but not a problem. the breakfast was very good in quantity and quality in comparison with other hotels in similar range. the room was spacious, clean and comfortable, as well as the bathroom.(the towels were too thin).

The hotel's position is excellent. You are just 5 minutes walking from the big Friedrichstrasse U-Bahn and S-Bahn station and you can get to the main attractions of the city just walking for 10 minutes (Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, Unter den Linden...). The area near the hotel is full of riverside restaurants. The rooms are quite simple (with a bit old furniture), but they are very clean. Breakfast is rich and employees are friendly and efficient. I suggest this hotel especially to young people looking for a cheap and centrally located place.

We are four guys at a short trip to Berlin. So we didn´t need a high quality room. The 4 bed room was clean, but the interior was quite puristic (only one wardrobe was available). The hotel is located very central and all places of interest are easy reachable. The staff wasn´t that motivated but OK for us. In total Hotel Amelie Berlin offers a good value for money.

The Hotel Amelie is situated 5 minutes on foot from the main subway station of Berlin, in the centre of the Mitte (centre) part of Berlin, so extremely well situated for discovering the city. Our room was quite big with one large bed and a smaller one, juste fine for my wife and me. It seems that it was renewed recently because it was like new. The bathroom was a bit small, but for a one-week stay it was not a problem. Breakfast was good, not much room in the dining room but there were not many people at this time of the year, so it was very nice for us two. I cannot evaluate the quality of service provided by the staff as we did not need it. We do not live in the hotel, we just use it for the night.

It was nice to be so close to all of the major attractions in Berlin. Also, very close to the train station. The rooms were small but good. Our son became ill during our stay, and it was difficult to communicate our needs with regard to securing a doctor for him, finding a pharmacy, etc. The breakfast was very good, typical German fare.

This hotel is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. Amelie has one unbeatable asset - its location, close to all the interesting sites in Mitte, diverse public transportation at hand, within walking distance of the main railroad station in Berlin. However, the rooms are not only small (I had a single and it was barely larger than a cell, perhaps 7x8 feet) but they are stripped of only the basic necessities. The bed was some strange one piece affair - headboard and mattress in one, of a rough upholstery-like fabric. The bedding was a sheet placed over this, loose, not tucked in, and for the first days, no mattress pad, plus one hard pillow and a duvet of some age. The floors throughout are linoleum, with a throw rug of 2by3 feet provided. There was a very small wooden desk chair and a desk/table, plus a freestanding closet. No drawers, a couple of very small shelves and a little corner to store a suitcase. The view was a courtyard where motorcycles were stored. It was dark. I don't know how this place qualifies as a hotel. It is more like a rooming house. The web site shows a substantial building of 5 or floors but in reality the hotel has one floor, 12 rooms, separated in 2 sections by the entry. Registration is next door, downstairs. There is no lobby , though there is a coffee room at the registration site. The rest of the building is apartments. Entry is dark at night until you find the lightswitch in the entry. From registration until payment the last day I saw no hotel personnel except the chambermaid (rooms cleaned in the afternoon.) Of course,I didn't visit the coffee room. But in a six day stay you would imagine in such a small place there would be some interest in the customer's needs. The bathroom, though basic, was clean. The whole place, however, was dreary. But, it was cheap, and as I said, you get what you pay for.

We stayed in Berlin för two nights and had a great time. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. 15 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and just a few minutes walk to Friedrichstrasse station where we easily could reach all parts of Berlin with S/U-bahn.
