You can find much more charming surroundings (neighbourhoods) in Berlin! The hotel: breakfast buffet ok, but not impressing. Our room needed very much a make over. The room of my co-travellers was better. Small, but nice bathrooms. Staff at arival not helpful.

good value for money = good location for city centre - directions from train station could be better and the room was a bit small for 3 people. No hot drink facilities in room, shower or shampoo - would be appreciated.

Very good location for travel network and within 10 minutes walking distance of Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdamer Platz. Local supermarket nearby if you need to stock up on bottled water, snacks, etc. Clean, efficient, good breakfast buffet - overall, good value for money and I would visit again next trip.

The hotel is located 5 min. walk from the Anhalter train station, 10 – 15 min. walk from the Potsdamer platz and 10 min. walk from checkpoint Charlie. The hotel might look a bit shabby (staircase and corridors) and doesn’t have an elevator – may be a problem for people residing in high floors. I had a single room which was rather small though the room and shower were clean and the heating was pleasant. I had a glimpse of a double room and it seemed to be spacious. The dining room was very pleasant and so was the above-average satisfying breakfast. The staff were helpful and responsive and the free access to the internet was a blessing. All and all, a quiet and pleasant hotel, good value for money, reasonable location – worth a stay.

This Hotel is situated close to Gropius Bau, only 15 minutes to (ugly!) Potsdamer Platz, and few minutes more to Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor. So far - it is to be recommanded. Breakfast ok, not really great. BUT: if you prefer to sleep with open windows, avoid do get a room windowed to the street - that would be a very bad idea due to the traffic noise of Anhalter Straße - buses seem to drive just across your pillow! But if you accept closed windows during the night, it will be very silent. Best of all: the old berlin atmosphere, the old flat which is now the hotel - and the fair and low rates.

The bathroom was the smallest bathroom that i have ever been in. The price was fantastic especially since we booked the day before. The hotel was relatively close to Potsdamer Platz bus area where we were able to get on a tour bus. The only things that I would really improve would be the bathroom size, addition of sheets to the room and a fan to move all of the hot air out the window. Lastly, they really need to take the sensor off of the sink. if you drop something in the sink it will get wet but the water never stayed on for more than 5 seconds when you needed it.

This was a very good value for money hotel. There is no lift but we were lucky to get a room on the first floor. Room was spacious, clean and had a very good bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and we found all staff polite and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Berlin.

300m from the metrò. You can reach Potsdamer Platz by walking in 15 minutes. Our double room was very spacious. The bath with shower was clean (as the room). The reception is on the first floor: the personal speaks german and english (not italian in my case) The breakfast is included in the price of the hotel and is good enough for everyone.

The hotel was comfortable and the staff courteous the only thing I would have some concern over was the reception was on the 1st floor and not obvious to find. The room was a bit on the small side but had all the amenities required. The room was clean nd cleaned each day.Overall for the money a good value hotel close to the main tourist areas of Berlin. One disadvantage was the lack of a bar which some would see as a drawback if you just wanted to relax at the end of a long day exploring the sites.

The hotel is well situated for people wanting to explore the inner city and its easy to find busses and Underground stations to come around. A few restaurants nearby but you may easily find some not far away. The room ought to be a bit cleaner - found hairpins on floor!

The hotel is in an old building (perhaps "listed"?) and rooms had 3m high ceilings and wonderful windows. The breakfast room was a delight and the food excellent. I wish I could have lingered. BUT 1) the hotel is a fair walk from the bahnhof, 2) there is no lift (elevator), 3) no-smoking rooms were not indicated or adhered to, and 4) the advertised wireless internet was not working. I could see no evidence that it was even installed (e.g. routers, instructions to guests). This last was a blow, as I had chosen the hotel on this basis. The rest of the hotel seems to be run on a shoestring: one receptionist (who cannot help with luggage up the long winding staircases), one cake of soap, single sheets on double beds, and most extraordinary, basin taps that turn on with movement. The price was reasonable, and the hotel probably fine for young people who can carry luggage, but I felt the vibe and facilities at the Holiday Inn Express across the road in Stresemannstrasse would have been a better bet for me.
