Great hotel for the price paid, though a bit far from the city center. The tram is very close, though. The hotel restaurant had nice food, though we never had the breakfast. The walls are quite thin and I ended up using my earplugs. Overall it is a lovely hotel.

The room was not big, but it very well suited our needs. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection cheese, cold-cuts, yoghurts etc.

This hotel is a little out of the center of things, but only about a 15 minute ride on the tram to get into Alexanderplatz, and the hotel itself makes up for any inconvenience in location. In other words, it is super posh for the money. Our only complaint would be the internet set up, which wasn't free and required you to sit in the bar/restaurant.

The hotel was very nice and affordable - it was about a 20 minute street car ride from Alexander Platz....the directions to get there given on the internet were not very clear. It was not mentioned that the M5 is a streetcar, not a subway. Also, when you get off the streetcar the hotel is not "right there" - you do have to cross the street and go around a corner - we had to ask someone in an office for directions. The hotel is not visible from the street car stop. We found that the price of 11 euros per person for breakfast was a bit high. There was a very nice Mexican steakhouse just a five minute walk towards town. We had a lovely meal there - the service and prices and atmosphere were excellent. We would return to the hotel now that we are familiar with the area.

Hotel Alte Feuerwache is a beautifull property. Rooms are clean. Tram M5 at 2 minutes walk. About 20 minutes to Alexanderplatz. Recreation very good possible because it's 100 meters from the Obersee and 400 meters from the Orankensee (with swimbeach). Breakfast (not included) was good. The only things we didn't like was the sun coming through the very thin curtains. Early in the morning (summer)a lot of sun on the fourth floor. Windows mostly closed because of the traffic outside. (about 250 meters from the tram)

The hotel is an excellent alternative to staying in west berlin. It is spitzenklasse in when you compare price and quality. The only aberdabei is that the rooms are small. But we had a fantastic night at this hotel and it is very easy to find.

Famili driven hotel, personell is very welcoming and professional. Room was very clean and quiet, but relatively small for three persons. Reception closes at 23.00. The only disadvantage is that it is relatively far from center - 20 mins on tram.

The hotel was about 20 minutes far from the city center by tram. Although it wasn't in the city center the surroundings were good and quiet. It's ok for couples or families with children. The staff was kind and nice. We liked it. We will return to this hotel if we travel to Berlin again.

Very well placed for the regular tram into the centre. Rooms were warm and functional and the level of funtionality was in line with the price. Breakfasts were good. Not much in the local vacinity but Konrad Grill is good for a cheap beer and stays open late. Stayed as a group of four adults in two twin rooms.

Pleasant hotel about 8 km from city center well connected by 24 hour public transport. Because the immediate neighborhood has no attractions or facilitities, the hotel is really just a place to stay.

The hotel was very comfortable. Good bathroom, very clean, and food there is very good if you want a lazy night in the hotel. Two comments for those who want to book. If you are a couple be shore to ask for a twinbed. Otherwise you will be waving at each other in bed from the opposite side of the room. The hotel is about half an hour away form 'the center'. The connection is fine with the tram, unfortunetly during our stay their were mending the tracks. All-in-all, I will go back to this hotel in the future.

The hotel can be reached easily by tram. Berlins public transportation is excellent, even in late night hours. The rooms are small but clean. The room doors could use better sound damping so that you would not hear every step and word from the corridor. On Friday night there was a private party in the hotel restaurant (nobody warned us before), so we had disco until early morning. There was no shower gel in the bathroom. The breakfast was OK, but not really worth the 10 Euro it costs. You'll get a better one at any cafe in the city center.

Access to city center using tram M5 was even faster than we thought. U can get not-stamped tickets also for a family, for a day or just one way trip. It took a while from taxi to find the place from his GPS at the airport of Tegel when arriving. Restaurant of the hotel was exellent in the evenings.

The hotel was good, clean and spacious and the staff very helpful. The on location restaurant and wait staff were excellent. The hotel is located in a very quite neighborhood pretty far from the train station. This is not an issue if you are familiar with the subway system and the staff was very helpful in providing info on how to use the subways - or you can take a taxi to local tourist sights.

Had two rooms one double and one triple both small but completely adequate for our needs as a good base to stay, both rooms clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's really easy to get round Berlin from here. We didn't try the food at the hotel as we were too busy going out and about but the menu did look good - we did have a couple of drinks in the bar which were reasonably priced. Would have liked to have stayed longer than 3 nights and would go back to this hotel again.

This hotel was awesome! Its huge and right next to the metro. The receptionist was helpful and very nice. She spoke English very well and was able to tell us where to go and how to get there. She offered us breakfast and a map. This was a great hotel for a great price! One tip though, just take a taxi from the airport or train station because its kind of far to get there for 12 euro you'll save yourself time and energy.

This is the fourth time that we have stayed in Berlin, over a period of thirty years, and was by far the nicest hotel! Breakfast was amazing, and well worth paying for. Although it is slightly out of the way, the tram is very convenient, and only took about fifteen minutes to get to Alexander PLatz: the only problem we had at all was when we arrived, as the hotel directions don't mention the fact that the M5 is a tram, and to anyone who hasn't done their research properly (like us!), it could be a problem......plus the fact that it was quite late at night when we arrived.......but we just got a taxi! Thoroughly recommend it - oh, and we ate in the hotel restaurant one night as well - great food, and such nice people!

The Hotel was excellent and good value. The staff were enthusiastic friendly and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant twice during our stay and again were impressed with the quality / value for money. The rooms are compact and may not appeal to American visitors who would be used to more space. Nevertheless they suited our needs for the 4 day break. Thank you for the contact.
