This was the first time we stayed at Hotel Adam and would stay here again for the price. This was very central and very easy to find from the metro station. We satyed for four nights, and wanted to stay longer. So much to see in Berlin. The rooms where very clean and tidy, and the breakfast supplied was great.

Very good hotel for the price. Nearby access to S-train makes it very easy to reach everything. Excellent breakfastbuffet. Quiet, clean, hot water in the tubs, heat in the rooms. Very nice to be able to park in the courtyard, but beware that you can´t leave without staff because you need a special key to open the door.

I booked for a room with sharing bathroom. However it looks they upgraded rooms and installed own bathrooms. The room became quite small in result though. The service and facility was good value for the price. I would recommend this hotel for young solo budgeted travelers. Just be aware that the area is a part of so called red-light zone.

The single room was tiny, but clean and quiet. If you're only staying for a day or two, this hotel is a good choice for the price. It is also very close to public transport.

We stayed in the hotel for one night and were satisfied with the accomodation as such - rooms are not much of luxury but okay for overnight stay. Very close to S-bahn station Charlottenburg which enables good connection to city centre. Breakfast was excellent and staff pleasant and helpful. The only thing which was bad is the fact that hotel is located inside the "umweltzone" where you have to have so called umweltplakette on your car to be able to drive there. We were not aware of that and then could not use the parking place of the hotel, anyway it would not be a free space there. Overall, we recommend this hotel.

its a good hotel, nice and helpful staff.the hotel its close to charlottenburg s-bahn station,so u dont have problems to go around the city, and its not more than 10 minutes by s.bahn.to turistic places, the hotel its nice if u want a good price, and you plan to stay oustide, cause its and old hotel, and its more like a guesthouse than a hotel, anyway its a good deal if you are going there for 3 or 4 days.we spent there 4 nights without a problem.and the breakfast included its pretty good.

I travelled with a friend and we stayed in a double room with bathroom on the floor. It was OK because bathroom was really next to our room. Positive points are : we appreciated the buffet breakfast ; room clean and spacious, comfortable bed ; the hotel is very close (~1min) to the well-deserved S-Bahn station Charlottenburg (Schönefeld airport direct with the S9 lign in approximately 1h10). Negative points : check-in is not before 11 am (not at 8am as it is mentioned on the wesite) ; they have this old system with the carbon thing to take the information of the credit card ; our room was looking at the inside court so it was quiet, however it could be a little bit noisy as it is not very well isolated from the nearby rooms. To conclude, Hotel Adam is not very appealing at first, but it has an excellent ratio quality/price.

Hotel Adam is in a great location. We were first-time visitors to Berlin and being in the loaction we were, found it very easy to access the highlights of the city. The room was great, very clean. Excellent pricing considering the location and quality. Breakfast was also very good. I recommend this hotel.

We were looking for a low-cost hotel without frills which would be peaceful, provide a large breakfast and be close to public transport. On all three counts the Hotel Adam turned out to be ideal. Even though it is on a main road near an S-Bahn station the fact that it is in a courtyard behind the buildings which front the street made it very quiet. And the reception staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Best value of Adam Hotel are the location (near U-Bahn and S-Bahn) and the price. The structure in itself is an old and "strange" hotel without a 24 hour reception (you have to keep the keys with yourself) and with a almost labirintic way to go in and out the room corridors without passing through the reception (it seems they really don't like you pass through it, even during the day!). Worst things are quality of furniture and, above all, of the shutters: my room faced the small inner courtyard (which is everytime in the shade) and was (in August!) quite cold. Luckily, they supply you with quite comfortable blankets but I fear that in winter those shutters let came in a lot of chilly air ... I disliked two other things: first, they said to me the credit card machine was broken. As you can read in other customer reviews, this seems to happen quite too often to discard the suspects of a pretext. Second, the "private parking" they advertise is in fact the small courtyard, that barely could host three cars. Anyhow you can buy at the reception, for 8 euros/day, an hotel parking mark, to use (exposing it under the car windshield) in the public parking located in front of the hotel. The normal parking fare (by tickets) is 1 euro/hour, so you can save some money buying the hotel mark. The parking is an unattended open-air space in a red-light zone, so I was a little bit worried for possible theft from my car. The lady at the reception assured me the surroundings are quite safe ("There are taxis all night long near S-Bahn, just next to the parking, so it's unlikely someone could try a theft"). I left three nights the car in that parking, after taking out all the values from car trunk, and it wasn't touched. Breakfast is good and staff (it seemed to me mainly Russian) is polite enough, contrary to some other opinions (maybe I just didn't encountered at the reception the rude lady someone reported about). All in all, just a decent hotel with a good enough price/service ratio.

Hotel Adam is a clean and friendly budget hotel. I was one of a party of 5 females all in their 60's and we all felt that the hotel had been a good choice. It is very close to Charlottenburg station which meant that travel to and from the airport was straight forward and getting about in Berlin was simple.

I only stayed for a few houers since I was continuing my trip towards Dresden the following day. I got delayed and didn't arrive until midnight, but the staff didn't mind waiting for me. At night the surroundings didn't look very good. A lot of red signs if I say so, but when I went up the next you didn't really notice there were a loot of those clubs around. I had a single (which was a double for private use) w/o bathroom, and everything worked quite well. But when I returned to Berlin a few days later I lived at Hotel Cortina for more or less the same price, which I preferred over Adam.

Bring cash. When I got there they said their credit card machine was out of order and had to pay in cash. Rooms were good, breakfast was included and more than enough. Excellent access to mass transit (S-Bahn, U-bahn, bus). Also, for whatever reason there was no laundromat anywhere in the surrounding neighborhood. Maybe it's just not as common in Berlin. Internet cafe was only a block away.

I only stayed one night so it was fine for that. Small but adequate room that was quite clean and very good breakfast. I would stay again but for a longer stay I would get a room with private bath. Hotel Adam is located a short S bahn train ride out of Berlin central city. The location was great since we got a two day Berlin attraction and public transport pass. Hotel Adam was basic but comfortable. Room was quite cold on first night, but once we closed window the heater worked well! Bathrooms were clean. Beds good. Breakfast was superb. Overall good value for the location and cost. Security was a little concerning as it relies on the diligence of other guests. Recommended.

I was not impressed with this hotel at all. The service was poor and we had to pay cash because they said that their credit card machine was broke. Also we had to pay in advance which in all my travels is unheard off. We were made to feel like peasants. The rooms were small and stuffy. The surrounding area was very seedy. There was brothels and lap dancing clubs next door and you cant even go to the shop for the curb crawlers were trying to sell themselves to you. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. How anyone could give this dump high marks is beyond me.

Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, not overly big, but were fine. The hotel was very close to the S-Bahn station, which was convenient. The front desk is not open 24 hours (but you still have access to get into the hotel) so if you are planning on arriving late (after 21:00) make sure you let the hotel know so that they wait up for you. The surrounding area was a bit seedy, with dingy strip club type bars, but was easy to get to various areas of Berlin with the S-Bahn.

This was a good hotel. Cheap and cheerful. The decor is very dated (beige, brown etc) and fixtures and fittings etc are also quite old fashioned, however, the hotel was very clean and the room we had was huge! We were fairly close to the U Bahn and also close to some restaurants and a little Russian shop that sold wonderful olives. I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was fabulous, the best we had on our little European tour - cheese, ham, bread, cereal, coffee and juice.

We had a little difficulty finding which bus to take us to the location but with the help of drivers, etc., we arrived right at the front door. This area of town was conveniently located close to the subways and trains. A fabulous Italian restaurant is nearby with great food and prices. Our room faced the main street but didn't seem to be a problem after we went to bed. Our 3 bed room was large, the bath clean and we had plenty of closet space which was nice since we were there 6 nights. I would definitely stay at the Adam again. It was delightful. There was a laundromat within a 6-block walk if anyone is interested.

Room was a bit on the small side but was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was superb (nice spread of meats, cheeses, breads, fruit and drinks)! Hotel is located within 1 minute walk of S-Bahn stop. Staff was helpful and provided excellent directions to city attractions. Area seemed to be a little seedy but fine during the day. No elevator so be warned if your luggage is heavy. Only downside was that cash payment was due upon check-in (credit card machine was broken ---note; we saw this in a previous review). The hotel is really near the S-bahn BUT the directions you get are awful, and I ended up walking up and down in the dark without a clue where the hotel was. Advice, if you arrive at the S-bahn from Schoenefeld get off the train and walk back the way you came (towards the rear of the train) and us the exit staright ahead of you. When you leave the station walk straight ahead towards the traffic lights. The entrance to Hotel Adam is through two large plain blue doors, on the left, just before the traffic lights. (Where I went wrong was following the crowds off the train and using the western most exit - which got me quite lost!) The room was a good size, with a nice comfortable, suportive bed, and the most comfortable pillows I have ever come across! Everything in the room was clean and modern, and very warm for the time of year when the outdoor temp was -8C (late January) The area seemed ok, I felt safe on my own, and there is an Aldi right across the street that has anything you might need AND 500ml bottles of nice beer for only 25c :-) Breakfast was mainly bread, cheese, ham. As much as you can eat which is a great start to the day, but less fun if you are a vegetarian or are wheat or dairy intolerent. My first nights stay was quiet but the next night was not, the walls are paper thin and I could hear everything that went on next door ie loud TV and very loud conversation. That is the only reason I wouldn't go back, but it was good value for the money...very cheap for a single en-suite room.

I stayed at the Adam Hotel in Berlin Germany, everything was excellent, location, convenience, friendly employees, price, and a clean room. I intend to return to this hotel in early 2006. My only compliant is that a woman lit up a cigarette after I just finished my breakfast, smelling her second hand smoke didn't make my stomach feel well. You should make a practice of segregrating the non-smokers and the smokers. I live in San Francisco, California U.S.A., and we have the strictest smoking laws in our country, smokers cannot light up their cigaretes in public and private areas of businesses. Non-smokers shouldn't have to breathe someone's second hand smoke. This is my only compliant but everything else about this hotel was great, as mentioned before, I will return to this hotel again sometime next year. Robert Hom

Good value for money, good location, excellent simple access by bus from airport. Would like map to show Charlottenburg train station, also written directions from train station to hotel. nearby major station is zoologischer garten, not bahn zoo. need notice to direct first timers to bell to gain access.

The map is misleading to tourists, because the map just shows about few streets away from Berlin Zoo Rail station. However it takes at least 30 minutes walk. The room is very old and the security seems not enough.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Very well located near S-Bahn station Charlottenburg, very pleasant welcome and services. I recommend it. Only one reservation : you must pay cash your stay when you arrive.

We had rooms with bathroom and toilet so only comment on them (the hotel does have rooms with share bathroom). All the rooms were extremely spacious especially the single rooms. The breakfast was enough to keep you going all day if you wanted, selection of breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, yoghurts and juices. There was an outside seating area, which was shaded, which was pleasant in the heat. There are a number of good cafes/bars around the corner. The hotel as it states is close to the railway station (one tip rather than get the direct local service (S9 which can take up to 50 minutes take the airport express and change at Zoologisher Garten this takes 30 minutes. Tickets are 2 euros). When looking for the hotel don’t look for the porch in the photo as this is behind the street door in a court yard. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend Hotel Adam. All the staff were friendly and were more than happy to help with local information. The hotel is situated in the heart of the 'old' West Berlin and as we had lived there over 25 years ago, we were able to find our way around very easily. The 109 bus from the Airport dropped us off directly outside the hotel and the S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations were easy to find and we would highly recommend a 7 day ticket if you are going to be there that long, it entitles you to travel on all S and U Bahns, Buses and Trams around the City. For just under 24 Euros this represents very good value. We found plenty of restaurants nearby (Greek, Turkish, Hungarian), along with the usual Imbis stalls selling bratwurst and bockwurst. The pub (in English, the Pike) was a plethora of local characters and no two nights the same!! Berlin is a must for everyone for history, food, drink, and nightlife. Enjoy!!

Didn't have any problems at all. But there are 3 to 4 red light bars and clubs on the way from the S-train station to the hotel. I stayed only one night and it was no problem to get to the hotel. But given you beeing a women to travel by yourself you might consider this.

After staying at Hotel Adam for four days, I can strongly recommend it! They had quiet rooms, though small, but room enough for one person, with a tiny clean bathroom. An ample breakfast buffet running from 8-10am. And the best part - it was one block from the S-bahn station which could take you anywhere in the city in less than 20 minutes. In fact, it's only two stops from the main station Zoo, which is a major transfer point. It was also located in a reasonably-priced neighbourhood (ie. not touristy), so the restaurants were not expensive. Plus there was a great pedestrian shopping district with lots of big department stores again only one block away. It's in the Charlottenburg area (a few blocks away from the beautiful Charlottenburg Palace and surrounding park), in the central-west part of town. I didn't have any problem with a change in price - I paid cash up front upon arrival. Hope this helps!

Stanze arredate IKEA.

It is a welcomming little hotel close to the train station, which is convenient. Some strip clubs near the hotel, but not really an inconvenience. The communal areas are somewhat worn down, but the rooms are spotless and lovely. The beds were fantastic - The roooms are clean and quiet, you get your own key, the showers were great and the breakfast excellent We'll stay here again soon.

The hotel has a good price but you should not expect so much. The rooms are simple and a little bit cold and you can have some problems to get there because they have a complicated way (you will receive different keys to open different precedent doors). You could feel like in a movie from the 2nd. world war with secret passageways and keys. The employees are all from the east block and I should say a little bit tough. Anyway it makes sense if you want to have a short stay there. The best point: in front of the hotel you have a direct bus to the Airport Tegel (20 minutes).

Hotel Adam is a simple hotel. especially price - quality relationship is good. Althought I personally think the "Mitte" and Unter den Linden area are nicer places to stay , this hotel is the perfect place if you just need a good place to sleep, a good breakfast and do not want to spend too much money. The Charlotteburg station is only 1 minute walk, absolutely great!!!
