Very low price, directly near to tram station. Furniture is not the latest, but neat and clean. Will definitely go there again, if I need a hotel next to the city with an enormously low price (hostels etc are not much cheaper and are definitely not as convenient).

Decent hotel for the money. Our room was a triple and was spacious but faced the street. Small amount of street noise since we had the windows open. Great breakfast of cheese, meats, boiled eggs, and breads, juices. Hotel doesn't have an elevator and the hotel rooms are spread out above apartments, but the doors to the hotel's floors have separate keys for the guests. Wifi reception was poor in our room. Hotel is very close to the metro and is close to the busline from Tegel Airport.

I stay in a single room with shared bathroom. The room is small and old,it is far away from major tourist spots, but this is acceptable for the price. But the worst is I don't know why there were so much flies in my room (well, I must say I did not eat or drink or even keep food in my room, and I kept the room very clean). They kept flying in and that's so nasty and annoying. I told the staff on the second night, but she asked me to kill them myself!! and kept on saying that This is not mine (I guess she means this is not her problem) and went away. The room is clean if you can stand with flies sleeping with you. Only one staff is nice and speaks English. Others just do not help anything. Frankly, breakfast is okay (with this price), but this cannot cover the horrible experience in my room. I will not come back again.

The breakfast was excellent, even smoked salmon on sundays, you have your cereals, toasts, ham, cheese, eggs, sausages, rolls, tomatoes, veggies, cookies, coffee, etc... i would recommend it to anyone not looking for party rooms.

Transport links are fantastic with Charlottenburg (S Bahn) 30 seconds walk away and Willmesdorferstrasse (U Bahn) just 5 mins walk away. You can be in Mitte in 15 mins. Conveniently located close to Charlottenburg station. The gentleman who was on reception on our arrival was most pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the hotel for one night and were satisfied with the accomodation as such - rooms are not much of luxury but okay for overnight stay. Very close to S-bahn station Charlottenburg which enables good connection to city centre. Breakfast was excellent and staff pleasant and helpful. The only thing which was bad is the fact that hotel is located inside the "umweltzone" where you have to have so called umweltplakette on your car to be able to drive there. We were not aware of that and then could not use the parking place of the hotel, anyway it would not be a free space there. Overall, we recommend this hotel.

I travelled with a friend and we stayed in a double room with bathroom on the floor. It was OK because bathroom was really next to our room. Positive points are : we appreciated the buffet breakfast ; room clean and spacious, comfortable bed ; the hotel is very close (~1min) to the well-deserved S-Bahn station Charlottenburg (Schönefeld airport direct with the S9 lign in approximately 1h10). Negative points : check-in is not before 11 am (not at 8am as it is mentioned on the wesite) ; they have this old system with the carbon thing to take the information of the credit card ; our room was looking at the inside court so it was quiet, however it could be a little bit noisy as it is not very well isolated from the nearby rooms. To conclude, Hotel Adam is not very appealing at first, but it has an excellent ratio quality/price.

We were looking for a low-cost hotel without frills which would be peaceful, provide a large breakfast and be close to public transport. On all three counts the Hotel Adam turned out to be ideal. Even though it is on a main road near an S-Bahn station the fact that it is in a courtyard behind the buildings which front the street made it very quiet. And the reception staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Best value of Adam Hotel are the location (near U-Bahn and S-Bahn) and the price. The structure in itself is an old and "strange" hotel without a 24 hour reception (you have to keep the keys with yourself) and with a almost labirintic way to go in and out the room corridors without passing through the reception (it seems they really don't like you pass through it, even during the day!). Worst things are quality of furniture and, above all, of the shutters: my room faced the small inner courtyard (which is everytime in the shade) and was (in August!) quite cold. Luckily, they supply you with quite comfortable blankets but I fear that in winter those shutters let came in a lot of chilly air ... I disliked two other things: first, they said to me the credit card machine was broken. As you can read in other customer reviews, this seems to happen quite too often to discard the suspects of a pretext. Second, the "private parking" they advertise is in fact the small courtyard, that barely could host three cars. Anyhow you can buy at the reception, for 8 euros/day, an hotel parking mark, to use (exposing it under the car windshield) in the public parking located in front of the hotel. The normal parking fare (by tickets) is 1 euro/hour, so you can save some money buying the hotel mark. The parking is an unattended open-air space in a red-light zone, so I was a little bit worried for possible theft from my car. The lady at the reception assured me the surroundings are quite safe ("There are taxis all night long near S-Bahn, just next to the parking, so it's unlikely someone could try a theft"). I left three nights the car in that parking, after taking out all the values from car trunk, and it wasn't touched. Breakfast is good and staff (it seemed to me mainly Russian) is polite enough, contrary to some other opinions (maybe I just didn't encountered at the reception the rude lady someone reported about). All in all, just a decent hotel with a good enough price/service ratio.

I only stayed for a few houers since I was continuing my trip towards Dresden the following day. I got delayed and didn't arrive until midnight, but the staff didn't mind waiting for me. At night the surroundings didn't look very good. A lot of red signs if I say so, but when I went up the next you didn't really notice there were a loot of those clubs around. I had a single (which was a double for private use) w/o bathroom, and everything worked quite well. But when I returned to Berlin a few days later I lived at Hotel Cortina for more or less the same price, which I preferred over Adam.

I was not impressed with this hotel at all. The service was poor and we had to pay cash because they said that their credit card machine was broke. Also we had to pay in advance which in all my travels is unheard off. We were made to feel like peasants. The rooms were small and stuffy. The surrounding area was very seedy. There was brothels and lap dancing clubs next door and you cant even go to the shop for the curb crawlers were trying to sell themselves to you. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, not overly big, but were fine. The hotel was very close to the S-Bahn station, which was convenient. The front desk is not open 24 hours (but you still have access to get into the hotel) so if you are planning on arriving late (after 21:00) make sure you let the hotel know so that they wait up for you. This was a good hotel. Cheap and cheerful. The decor is very dated (beige, brown etc) and fixtures and fittings etc are also quite old fashioned, however, the hotel was very clean and the room we had was huge! We were fairly close to the U Bahn and also close to some restaurants and a little Russian shop that sold wonderful olives. I would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was fabulous, the best we had on our little European tour - cheese, ham, bread, cereal, coffee and juice.

I liked it a lot! I definitely suggest this hotel. Our double room was as a suite (take number 19)! However, will not recommend this hotel for a single woman, the area around -> night clubs... Breakfast is excellent and staff is very welcoming! Take cash with you even though property accepts credit cards (does it?).

I stayed in Berlin for 4 nights. The location of hotel was not exactly in the center of the city, but close to the S-Bahn where trains ran very often. The hotel offered a very good breakfast.

Very convenient location on S-Bahn! Rooms are basic, but breakfast and service quite good. Payment is asked for in full up front, but I just paid one night, then paid the balance the next day. Neighborhood is perhaps a touch sketchy but even as a single woman traveling alone I had few concerns.

Nice hotel, very clean. Breakfast excellent. Easy to reach with S-bahn or U-bahn. We had however some problems with the shower in one of our rooms. If ever in Berlin again we will return.

We had a little difficulty finding which bus to take us to the location but with the help of drivers, etc., we arrived right at the front door. This area of town was conveniently located close to the subways and trains. A fabulous Italian restaurant is nearby with great food and prices. Our room faced the main street but didn't seem to be a problem after we went to bed. Our 3 bed room was large, the bath clean and we had plenty of closet space which was nice since we were there 6 nights. I would definitely stay at the Adam again. It was delightful. There was a laundromat within a 6-block walk if anyone is interested.

We were greeted by a VERY rude lady at the front desk. The rooms smelledlike smoke and something else? The breakfast was great (the only good part of the stay). The pension was situated in a very poor area of town, and had a brothel house 2 doors down. Not good for me!

Room was a bit on the small side but was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was superb (nice spread of meats, cheeses, breads, fruit and drinks)! Hotel is located within 1 minute walk of S-Bahn stop. Staff was helpful and provided excellent directions to city attractions. Area seemed to be a little seedy but fine during the day. No elevator so be warned if your luggage is heavy. Only downside was that cash payment was due upon check-in (credit card machine was broken ---note; we saw this in a previous review). Not a problem but it would have been nice to know in advance. Still it was a pleasant stay and we would use this hotel again.

Very clean hotel with spotless rooms. Friendly staff. Buffet breakfast excellent. 100 yards from Charlottenburg station therefore location ideal. The courtyard/entrance is behind the large door on the main road, not around the block, so buzz the intercom to get in then you will see the entrance as pictured on the website - don't walk round the block like we did expecting another entrance!! On the whole, fantastic value.

The hotel is really near the S-bahn BUT the directions you get are awful, and I ended up walking up and down in the dark without a clue where the hotel was. Advice, if you arrive at the S-bahn from Schoenefeld get off the train and walk back the way you came (towards the rear of the train) and us the exit staright ahead of you. When you leave the station walk straight ahead towards the traffic lights. The entrance to Hotel Adam is through two large plain blue doors, on the left, just before the traffic lights. (Where I went wrong was following the crowds off the train and using the western most exit - which got me quite lost!) The room was a good size, with a nice comfortable, suportive bed, and the most comfortable pillows I have ever come across! Everything in the room was clean and modern, and very warm for the time of year when the outdoor temp was -8C (late January) The area seemed ok, I felt safe on my own, and there is an Aldi right across the street that has anything you might need AND 500ml bottles of nice beer for only 25c :-) Breakfast was mainly bread, cheese, ham. As much as you can eat which is a great start to the day, but less fun if you are a vegetarian or are wheat or dairy intolerent. My first nights stay was quiet but the next night was not, the walls are paper thin and I could hear everything that went on next door ie loud TV and very loud conversation. That is the only reason I wouldn't go back, but it was good value for the money...very cheap for a single en-suite room.

On arrival, payment was required in cash. Credit card was not acceptable, even though the confirmation e-mail direct from the hotel had said it would be. The machine was said not to be working. However, excellent value for the price. Good quality breakfast.

The room was cold we had to ask for blankets. The shower and toilet was shared with other guests and at breakfast was busy. It was kept spottlesly clean by staff and we found showering on an evening easier. The location is near to shops and very handy for the main station. a three day tourist pass obtained from ticket machines gives free travel on all public transport. Not the best hotel but excellent value for money.

I stayed at the Adam Hotel in Berlin Germany, everything was excellent, location, convenience, friendly employees, price, and a clean room. I intend to return to this hotel in early 2006. My only compliant is that a woman lit up a cigarette after I just finished my breakfast, smelling her second hand smoke didn't make my stomach feel well. You should make a practice of segregrating the non-smokers and the smokers. I live in San Francisco, California U.S.A., and we have the strictest smoking laws in our country, smokers cannot light up their cigaretes in public and private areas of businesses. Non-smokers shouldn't have to breathe someone's second hand smoke. This is my only compliant but everything else about this hotel was great, as mentioned before, I will return to this hotel again sometime next year. Robert Hom
