Hotel is located very conveniantly near public transport (S-Bahn). Surroundings offer lots of restaurants, shops and breakfast alternativs. So if you sleep out, the street in which the hotel is located, offers bakeries, restaurants, pubs etc. Room on third floor was kind a noisy, however, it was New Year's eve. Lots of parking garages in the neighbourhood. Friendly staff.

The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom a bit small, but it was ok. Very quiet to sleep. Breakfast was better than i expected, differents types of bread, cereals, fruit, ham, cheese, eggs, juices, milk, coffe, etc. I even asked for something different to drink and there was no problem. You can leave your luggage there, if you want to visit the city after check out. Very good located, closed to underground and Zoologischer Garten bus 100 stop and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche is 10 minutes walking.

The rooms are of very different quality. We got a fine room this time, but the couple we travelled with got a small room. For 3 years ago we got a room in the reception-area. The rooms near the reception are very noisy. The location near Astrid am Kurfürstendamm is very good. The restaurants and cafées in the neighbourhood are good. We like to go to Annalee nearby and have a glass of wine together with the neighbours. And we like the restaurants and small shops at Savigny Platz. Unfortunately was the trainstation Savigny Platz closed.

A very cozy and centrally located hotel in an ancient style. Very nice and helpful employees. Room (at least our) was very spaceous and clean. Decent breakfast. This altogether at a reasonable price. We enjoyed it!!!

Great location, very good breakfast, quiet street, good restaurants specialized in German cooking in a walking distance, 5 minutes from the S-Bahn station. Check the bookstore on Savigny Platz, under the S-Bahn bridge.

I was staying in this hotel with my mom during our shopping trip. We were very pleased. Great location, room was ok,breakfast was also ok for us. The lady in the reception also spoke Russian, which was great as my mom doesn't speak any English. Reasonably priced hotel for short break in Berlin. I would recommend it.

l'albergo è vecchio, triste e non efficiente, il bagno è piccolo e poco funzionante, i letti grandi ma scomodi,le federe dei cuscini strappate, in genere non all'altezza del prezzo.

Old Building not renewed in common areas. The bathroom was rather small and old but was clean and everything worked well. The elevator is very old but for that very fancy in my opinion and worked well too. Breakfast rather essential and in a familiar context but enough for us and proportioned to the price payed and to the type of hotel. Some dust under the beds in the room. Very positive features: Great location. Room very spacious with balcony. Free internet in the breakfast room. Briefly good price/quality rate.

I stayed in Berlin just one night for a meeting. The excellent location of the hotel allowed us also to take a direct bus to the airport very early in the morning. Our rooms (and the breakfast room) were spacious and quiet.

We found the hotel as such very nice. Cosy and with very good surroundings. The adress was perfect. The rooms were very nice. Though the heat taken into concideration we lacked either airconditioning or a fan. We had neither of the things. The service and the way we were treated is another matter. We were 10 people and from the moment we stepped in the door we did not feel very wanted. Our kids were not treated very well and neither were we. Actually our stay ended with a fight with the woman who we think might be the hotel manager. Because of this we will actually not consider to go back to Astrid at Kurfurstendam.

What a disaster. This place is a dump. My family has stayed in many hotels in our time in Europe (many booked through Venere) but never have we stayed in such a miserable establishment. What we where given as a 'hotel room' was actually an old dining or formal room that had beds placed in it. The bed my daughter was given to sleep on had springs poking her in the back, the room fronted the street and was extremely noisy and hot throughout the night, the bathroom was literally as wide as the tiny shower (don't let the pictures fool you), the room was not cleaned very well, the in-room safe didn't work and to use it cost 3 euros/day. We relocated after 2 days but were told we would be charged for the third night since we booked in advance. Don't stay here (there is a much nicer Holiday Inn on the same street and they charged us the same price after we checked out).

We did not like this hotel at all and chose to relocate after the first night. Very dreary and dark, old and creaky. Not what we had anticipated and certainly not what it looked like in the photographs.

Excellent location. Very close to S-Bahn. Nice restaurants around. Very welcoming. Our family room was quite spacious. Bathroom small but the shower was quite good. Reasonably clean. I was told they have better family room on third floor. Friendly staff who could speak english. Good value for money. Would stay there again.

Lovely historic building with interior modernization. Old elevator is a hoot! Nice area of Berlin close to S- and U-Bahn and great for "seeing" Berlin. Web site stated "private parking", but we were told this had to be reserved when the room was reserved so we had to pay €13 per day street parking. Nice, typical German breakfast was included.

Pros: great location, nice room, good breakfast, accomodating staff (we got everything we asked for, including a non-smoking room facing away from the street). Cons: creaky floors and a small bathroom. The staff's english was limited, but adequate.

this is a nice little quiet hotel and conveniently located. quality vs. price was rather good. their antique (and still operational) elevator is really unique and fun to experience. rooms were adequate with a lovely high ceiling. only bathroom was rather cramped. the staff was courteous but not overly friendly. no complaints about the breakfast and we appreciated the free use of their internet. all in all we had a very pleasant stay in this hotel and would stay there again.

The location and the type of the building are very interesting, but the cleanness is not the best and the conditions of the floor (moquette) is poor; the sheets are too old. It was irritating the complete lack of towels the first day. The furniture is complete but a little forlorn. We didn't imagine that not all the building is dedicated to the hotel (there are also private apartments using the same stair). Notwithstanding, the staying was happy (after the first day) and we could imagine to go again to the same hotel in Berlin.

hotel lost orignal booking. We telephoned a few days before arrival and the hotel had no record of our booking. They gave two of us two small rooms for our first night then moved us for the next few days. but it was totally unacceptable to lose a booking made. Also there was loads of teanagers staying on the sunday night and the noise level made it impossible to sleep. If we wanted a youth hostel we would have booked one .
