Aparthotel Vega - Berlin

We were very pleased with the quality and cleanliness of this choice. After reading reviews, we were a little bit worried about the problems with getting in if we arrived late, but our nerves were quickly calmed with quick and efficient email exchanges with kind and competent hotel staff. One employee even stayed late to meet us, and provided us with an electric kettle for hot water when we realized (due to somewhat unclear web information, so use caution) that we had inadvertently booked a room without a kitchen, when we thought we would have one. The hotel is in fact right near the train tracks, and yes, there is obviously some noise. Even with the windows, open, however, we got great sleep. Our only problem was that although the listing claims that every room has internet access, this is NOT the case. There is internet in the lobby, which is easily accessed, and on the third floor. When I brought this to the attention of the woman on duty at the desk on the morning after we arrived, she claimed to know nothing about the internet, and said there was no access on the 5th floor. She refused to do anything for us and was very rude... SHe even refused to show us our bill at that time. Later, she changed her story to say that the problem was only in our room, however there were no signals in the hall beyond the one listed as the 3rd floor. After another email to the previously helpful hotel email-fairy, we received zero response. The evil receptionist did eventually offer us a new room, but by then we were completely unpacked and settled, and wanted to get out into the city. So we used the lobby wi-fi, only. Moral: clean hotel, nice rooms, fabulous location, and SOME helpful staff. We would probably stay here again despite the issues because of the cleanliness and price. Use caution, however, to make sure you book the room you think you are booking, and use caution if having Internet access in your room is important to you, as it was to us.

Fantastic apartments. Excellent value. Two bed apartments are spacious with high ceilings and sleep six comfortably - plenty of storage space. Two balconies for smokers. Previous reviews mentioned train noise which could be a problem for light sleepers - bring earplugs! We stayed three nights early December 09. Have stayed in K'damm area before so finding apartments not a problem. Savignyplatz station is two minute walk away. Zoo station about fifteen minutes. Would definitely stay again.

The only disadvantage - TV set was out of order

Very good value for money. Apartments are perfect when travelling with small children. Fully equipped kitchen (more or less), very spacious, washing machine etc. Furniture from the low end of the IKEA catalogue but perfectly ok. Good bakery on the opposite side of the street where you can buy bread for breakfast and pastries for your afternoon coffee. Very close to Uhlandstasse underground, KaDeWe and Berlin Zoo within walking distance. In general, very high quality/price ratio. Highly recommended, if you have a problem with this hotel you will probably have a hard time finding something better in the budget category.

The room was very spacious, and the service of the stuff was excellent. Unfortunately, our room was at the side of a road and railway, so it was a bit noisy throughout the evening.

The room which was offered to me first was clean but extremely loud. The employees offered to stay in the appartement which was on the photo for the same price and this was really verry nice! Location ideal for sightseeing with Hop On And Off Bus.

i stayed very well, in a big room, clean and warm. i had a big bathroom with bath and shower. hotel is near several metro lines in a zone of berlin full of shops. i stayed very well at low price. i'm very pleased

Very beautyfull apartment (for 6 px), with all services (tv, stereo, dvd, functionally kitchen) and spaciouness bathrooms. Good location near "kurfursterdam", "Kadewe Center" and about 50 metres from the U - Bahn). The unique problem is the night passage of the train "S-bahn", but the room is quite silenced.

Hotel a only a couple of minutes from a tube station and well located in West Berlin for visiting the city. (An hour from Schonenfeld and half an hour from Tegel) Unfortunately there was some building works in the vicinity (pile driving) which disturbed us but only on weekdays. The Hotel is also close to a rail line, but we found the sound insultation to be adequate. We appreciated the spacious rooms, kitchen and sitting/dining room. It allowed us to have a leisurely breakfast planning the day, and tea/coffee as desired. Though a dishwasher would have been nice. On to Berlin: we found Berlin to be reinventing itself as a tourist destination from a old very basic Eastern Europe City into a modern European City so it was a little harder than most city breaks to find out about the attractions. It also seemed to be coming to terms with its past, and appeared now to be able + willing to educate about its past without feeling embarassment or glorification. Given the effects of the war and the wall, Berlin seems to be a must for Architecture fans, with many interesting buildings not just at the Reichstag & Potsdammer Platz. We would recommend visting the above plus, Checkpoint Charlie, the new wall museum (which is still being built) the Victory Column, Chalottenburg Castle & Gardens & the television tower. Other than that; follow some of the walks in the guide books to experience the older East & West Berlin not just the central areas built post-wall to get the feel of Berlin and it people.

Good service, clean rooms, friendly staff. Too bad there are only non smoking rooms :).

Appartamenti abbastanza grandi situati in un quartiere molto ben servito.

Lovely spaceous rooms. Nice kitchen facilities. Good location. Short walk to the metro. Road noise was loud at times, but generally not too bad.

It´s a good place in general but there is an important point by which we wouldn´t go here in the future. It´s very, very near the railway and it´s impossible to sleep at night. You can rest properly. I wouldn´t recommend it.

We had an excellent vacation thanks to the great location and comfortable stay at Aparthotel Vega. Our family of 5 had plenty of room in this 2 bedroom apartment, and with our own kitchen it was almost like home. The S and U- bahn stations are minutes away. And many locations are within easy walking distance(Zoo, Europa Center, KaDeWe). We were able to park at the underground garage at the Hotel which was convenient and comparible in price. The S-bahn/train tracks are very close and for some this could be an issue. My daughter's room was noisy, but not enough to cuase lack of sleep. Overall, very good for price and perfect for a budget conscious family.

curtains were to small to cover the complete window. railway within 100mtr of the room towels are not refreshed during our stay room wasn't cleaned during our stay

Estuvimos 4 personas en un apartamento y fue muy cómodo, pues son muy amplios, tanto el salón donde están las 4 camas como el baño y la cocina. Muy buena calefacción y equipamiento, y en una zona estupenda para pasear y tomar como punto de partida para recorrer la ciudad. Muy recomendable.

Room giving on the side of the street Uhlandstr., enormously of noise (night and day). Glazing not soundproofed and closing badly. Defective curtains not allowing to seal the 100% window. Roomy room. Random service cleaning, need for claiming to make cleaning. To rent only in the event of urgency or if an other hiring were not found. To avoid.

Our two families rented two rooms for three nights. They were very comfortable, spacious and centrally located to many sites. It was a very good value for a large room in the city. We will return again.
