Not a badchoice but not an excellent one either. We were in a twin bedded room: it was quite clean but not spaciuos at all, just the space to go off the bed and walk to the little bathroom. The wardrobe was too small to put anything inside. Photographs dont't show the hotel in itself and the rooms. The lift didn't work and the breakfast was basically with salad food. But the surrounndings were excellent.

When I arrived there, recepcionist asked me to pay in advance with cash. They did not have credit card electronic device, I had to get out to look for an automatic teller and withdraw cash. On my vacations , I visited 10 cities in Spain, Italy, France and Germany, and this was the unique hotel that I could not pay with my credit card. Breakfast is very good. Surroundings are excelent.

Nice and helpful staff. Payment in advance. Asked to see the rooms first and changed one of our three rooms. Some rooms are very quiet -others with traffic noise. One room with three beds had a bad third bed. Close to KurfürstenDam, U-bahn and a museum of Berlin history. Would like to stay there again.

I was in Berlin with my family (2 aduls, 3 young sons). We spent there five days and we enjoied the city really a lot. The accomodation was good as the location (very close to the underground), breakfast rich and various. Only one note: I think that the payment by cash required, could be a problem for travellers

This was the first time we stayed at the Amaryl City Hotel. This is a simple hotel, excellent for those visitors who are just seeking adequate accommodation and a good breakfast. The rooms are quite comfortable, the service is good and the staff make you feel at home and they are very hospitable and helpful. In fact my son who stayed with us at the hotel intends to stay in it again on his future visit to Berlin. I would like to thank all the wonderful people at the hotel for making things easy for us during our stay in Berlin.

It was our second time in Berlin and the hotel was in a good position. It was very close to the Ubahn and the quality of the room was ok. We got a triple room and there was enough space for all 3 of us. But we found the price of the room a little bit to high compared to other hotels where we stayed before in Berlin.

Payment up front in cash !!!!! Or else the price goes up 5%. Otherwise VERY good value, the rooms are spacious, clean, and have a super location.

Our family of five had a great stay there. The breakfast, which had a wide variety, was fabulous and was included in the price of the room. The people at the check in desk were very helpful and shared their knowledge with us. It was a pleasure to stay there and we would stay there again.

They didn't accept credit card, against it was especified at web service (and the reservation was using its number so they can use it). They wanted to charge as soon as I entered in the hotel. They dind't make a legal invoice, just a paper. I don't recomend that kind of hotel and I never will come back to that place. Luckyle Berlin is a very beautiful place

There is one thing that I surprised. While we stayed, they didn't change sheets and towels. They said it's a German style. Is it true?!? I couldn't believe it.

Very nice hotel. Very good and welcoming service (the reception people are extremely kind and welcoming). The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings (we had a family room). Breakfast is very rich. From the outside the hotel doesn't look like much (even a bit scary), but inside it's very comfortable. The location is very close to the Ku-dam, so it's a nice location if you want to stay in Western Berlin (however Eastern Berlin is much more interesting for tourists). There are a bit of parking problems in the area, but you can buy a special parking card in the hotel (7 Euros per day). Overall - a good value for your money.

Just a little inconvenient: your website specified the hotel accepted credit cards... but once arrived, they pretended a cash payment "because of Xmas special prices" (so they told us) - that's been really annoying!

We were meet by a very unpolite and unpleasant owner of the Hotel. Without doubt the worste hotel I ever visit until now, and not corresponding to the standard of Germany as a country.

The service was good, the reception was very helpful and friendly. The location was very central as well. Though the only problem was our triple room is quite small but ideal as a double room.

Highly recomendable. Quiet, nice, spacious rooms. Very nice employees. We would surely be back. We had a double rooms, and a family room, both nice. 2 min away from U-bahn, and busses. Ok breakfast.

The triple room we got was big enough for 3 people. The bathroom was also big. Everything very clean and quiet. Guys at reception desk very helpful, gave us lots of tips of the city. Breakfast was OK, enough to eat to start the day. The hotel is about 5 minutes walking from Bahnhof Zoo.

We were a party of 10 males enjoying a weekend away. We were met on arrival by Andrea, who was extremely pleasant and very quickly booked us into our rooms. She also provided excellent assistance, throughout our stay, in deciding the best places to visit. The hotel is ideally situated, with a number of places within easy walking distance, and all other areas easily accessible on the very cheap transport system. The only down side to our stay was when we were asked to pay 200 euros for a lost room key. You are not allowed to remove the keys from the hotel [left at reception] and we refused as we did not believe we had lost it. I was subsequent charged on my credit card, but then reimbursed - apparently the key was found after we left having been put 'somewhere safe' by one of the night duty staff! The question must be asked - what would have happened had we paid the 200 euros in cash as we checked out?

Amaryl is an ideal hotel if you are looking for a clean, unfussy, quiet tourist overnight hotel. Though it is 'no frills' is is in a perfectly central location and very affordable.

The hotel was next to a strip club. Although this did not impact on our stay, we were there with young children and it could have caused offence. Otherwise we were very pleased with the hotel which is ideally located.

Although the price was reasonable, this hotel is in need of some care and attention. Ever hear of paint? Carpets and walls are stained. Food selection at breakfast is not 'rich' as advertised and is exactly the same every day. Daily room maintenance is minimal - we were surprised when the drink glasses weren't even changed one day. Our room was bigger than some but was fairly small. We did not use the public area (bar) at the front of the hotel because it was too smoky. Guests should be aware that the businesses on both sides of the hotel are strip clubs so there are a few shady-looking characters hanging around at night. We did not have any trouble, however. It's a creaky old house converted to a hotel. Definitely not top-of-the-line. I think for the same money we could have had an apartment with a kitchen and a separate TV room - but maybe not so close to the K'Damm and the U-station. The location is excellent but we will try to find something nicer next time.

Hotel was perfectly clean and the staff competent and friendly. My only complaint would be that the rooms were very small. But overall, for the price, you could hardly complain I suppose.
