For a young traveller, looking for cheap place to sleep for a night or two, this place is fine..however if you are a non-european, the surrounding areas looks a bit unfriendly.

They made the mistake of thinking I was a girl even after I checked in and gave them my information. Best thing they did was move me to the Pegasus Hostel.

Hostel is in a yard, so no street noise, but walls are not too thick so you can hear neighbors talking loudly or people walking in a corridor. They claim to have single and double rooms, but I two times got dorm room with bunk beads for a single use (have booked single room). Generally clean, but still there is black mold in hard to reach places next to the shower cabin.

I stayed in a single room with private bath during my weekend visit to Berlin (to run the marathon in 2007). All in Hostel was the cheapest place that I could find (66 euro per night) (through veneer) that is not too far from Tiergarten. The amenities in the room were pretty basic but acceptable. I didn't expect much given the low rate. The building itself is okay. The carpet in the corridor a somewhat dirty. The room was not big, and the bed was more of a soft futon. Overall, it's okay for the money.

Aufgrund des Berlin Marathons war das Hostel fast ausgebucht und das Personal ziemlich überarbeitet (lange Wartezeiten zum Einchecken oder bei Nachfragen); ich hatte ein Mehrbettzimmer (4-6 Personen) gebucht (weil es keine anderen Disponibilitäten mehr gab)und fand mich letztlich in einem 6-Bett-Zimmer wieder, das jedoch nur zu zweit belegt war. Eigentlich okay, nur echt komisch, dass die zweite Person ein Kerl war. Das hat mich schon ziemlich erstaunt, in den Jugend- oder sonstigen Herbergen, in denen ich bisher war, werden gemischte Zimmer eigentlich nur auf Wunsch gemacht, wenn sich die Leute kennen. Mich dann aber in einem Zimmer, dass nur zu zweit belegt ist (das lässt ja drauf schliessen, dass es noch ein bisschen Platz woanders gab) nur mit einem Typ wiederzufinden, dass find ich nicht wirklich top. Auf meine Rückfrage an der Rezeption meinte die gestresste Angestellte, dass da nix zu machen sei. Weiss nicht, wird nicht mein bevorzugtes Hotel sein das nächste Mal!

The stuff was nice and helpful and very tourists oriented. The only thing I found less 'professional' was their explanation on the phone how to get to the hotel (since it's not explained on the website). A place I surely recommend.

I was surprised at the excellence of this establishment and would certainly stay again and recommend it to my friends.
