Hotel offering a fair price these days. It's functional and clean. Quite a lot of noise from the street with the windows open - necessary when very warm and not sure if the air con unit was useable. Also, plenty of noise from inside, probably due to 80's design and poor acoustics. Fine for a heavy sleeper! Handy electronic safe in the rooms-necessary as keys are available to all. Wouldn't object to staying again if in the area.

Hotel is basic but well priced and very adequate. It's also very well placed for getting into town on foot. We had a room facing the back, so it was quite quiet.

A modest, clean and comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of Bergerac, perfect for a short stay. Peaceful location at night was a real plus and so was the change of bedlinen each day.

The accommodation most comfortable and the facilities were fine. Management seemed to care more for native french speakers if THEY complained about anything. Thin walls meant that you had to act as if you were in a church after about 8pm at night. Though it may just have been an intolerant/whingeing guest at fault. Quality and value for money otherwise.

This hotel was disappointing. Paper-thin walls allowed conversations and noises from other rooms to be heard in our room. The carpet/room smelled of urine. The area was not inspiring.

Too much noise from rooms near by (television), smoke coming from the room next by (combination door between the rooms). We always stay there when we are in this part of France. Excellent when you are alone e.g. in June or September.

More or less what it says on the tin. Perfectly acceptible with friendly good service and a really nice enclosed garden with a good sized swimming pool to the rear. The one slight down side was some noise from the street fronting the hotel, not excessive, but you can always opt for air conditioning and keep the window closed. There is no lift.

We paid extra for an air-condtioned room, definitely needed the air-con. Room on second floor - 39 steps - no lift. Decor VERY dated and in poor taste. Bathroom & toilet no windows or extractor fans. Bedroom poorly furnished. Breakfast inadequate, very poor value for money. All in all hotel poor and not good value for money. Definitely would not stay there again

This was our first visit to Bergerac and this hotel. The owner was very freindly and helpful and spoke good English. We stayed for one night at the beginning and end of a week in France. My only small complaint was that the double bed in room 14 pulled you to the middle, it needs a new mattress. The hotel is good value for a short stop over and close to the centre without being noisy. It was ideal for our purposes. Bergerac is definitely worth a visit and the Saturday market is excellent.

Very friendly, we arrived early our room wasnt ready they allowed us to leave our suitcase at reception and provided us with a map of the town. A 5 minute gentle stroll to the town centre or railway station, 10 minutes to the river. The swimming pool was great. The breakfast was basic but ok.

The hotel location was not good - too far from the old part of town. It was a bare bones hotel but it was very cheap. This is my first time to Bergerac.

Good quality hotel, well located on the edge of the town which made it a quieter area but within an easy walk to the centre and port area. The room we had (with bathroom)was good value for money.

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. although not located in the best area of Bergerac, it was a 5 minute walk to the town centre with its numerous restaurants. the hotel had off street parking, a small swimming pool with sunloungers. The breakfast was excellent value for money; additional extra, at no extra cost, were available on request, e.g. yogurts, cereals. As we were travelling for a month, the availability of a clothes line in the carpark and a nearby launderette was a bonus. although we had a car, we cycled directly from the hotel, on a daily basis. The surrounding areas were beautiful. The hotel staff took a personal interest in making our stay a positive one. For a week stay you would need a car or some other transport to make the most of your stay. The local markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays were a treat.

Hotel Europ easily met our expectations. This was the first time we have stayed there but would most certainly use the hotel again. The staff were efficient and very friendly. We arrived earlier than midday when our room would have been ready but were able to leave our luggage nontheless. The hotel is ideal to drive to Bergerac airport or take a short taxi ride (approx 20 mins) and is also very close (5 mins walk) to both the railway station and the centre of town. A good choice.

I had stayed here before in 2004 with my family, had no hesitation on returning to this hotel. The staff are good, the breakfast excellent.Very comfortable beds. The pool is lovely and very clean. Very good value for money. In a quiet area of Bergerac.Easy walking distance to shops, bars, cafes and the very old part of the town. Garage space if you need it.They also take dogs too and cats apparently! Would have liked Kettle/cups etc in the room for late night drinks but that is maybe an English thing! Would be happy to stay here again. Staff very friendly. Can recommend taxi service, seems to be the only one actually, Bergerac Taxis, phone no. 05 53 23 32 32. There were no taxis waiting at the airport but a chap in the departures rang for one and Pascal was there within 15 minutes. Pascal was very helpful, he ferried us around as we were visiting relatives, collected us and returned us to the hotel, also took us back to airport for departure, spoke excellent English.

Dead easy to find, just make your way towards the cathedral and a bit north - there are lots of signs and a brilliant blue one at night. We stayed two nights, but it would make an ideal stopover before heading out to the airport which is not nearly as easy to find. The rooms are really well thought out of their type and the aircon very powerful, most welcome in the heatwave we encountered in September. All the staff were friendly and helpful in French and in English. The outside picnic and swimming area were well tended. Bergerac is not very large and everything you would wish to visit was within easy walking distance. We had an excellent meal at La Petite Taverne which was the nearest restaurant, but there are lots more to choose from. Car parking easy, no need to pay for the covered area. The accomodation would be convenient for a family that wanted adjoining rooms, but because there was a door connecting the rooms (locked!) it did mean that the soundproofing could be a problem. Our neighbours were quiet, but we could hear them. All in all a good value stopover

Went in May, paid for room with air conditionong-did not need it. Room overlooked the road at front of hotel. Was woken in early hours by occasional traffic noise, but generally had good night's sleep. Room, bathroom and separate wc were clean and toiletries replaced daily. The reception staff were helpful and spoke reasonable english, though at times I had to switch to my french mode! Bed was comfortable, though not too sure about the one next door judging from the amount of squeaking coming from it! Having said that, walls were not too thin and a reasonable amount of privacy could be maintained. Breakfasts 7 euros, not included in booking price. Breakfast consisted of juice, coffee or tea, bread, croissant, butter, cheese and jams-simple, but adequate. Hotel situated 5 walking (a pied) minutes from Bergerac centre, 5 walking (a pied) minutes from railway station. The hotel is about 5 km from the efficient Bergerac airport (little more in size than a flying club). Make sure you get through check in procedures quickly since there is usually only 1 or 2 taxis waiting when aircraft land. There is no bus link or rail link to Bergerac. You can phone for taxis-see Bergerac Tourist Information web site for phone number. Hire car oulets (Europcar and Hertz) are located at the airport. There are also several outlets near the railway station. Travel to Perigaux for a nice day out, visit the market for good fresh food. Don't forget to bring back 3 or 5 litre boxes of Bergerac red wine-get it in supermarkets (there is one near hotel, ask reception for directions). At just a few euros a box, the good quality wine is a bargain. I would use the hotel again.
