We stayed in Bergamo for two nights and found the time and city and the hotel very nice. Everything was nearby and the athmosphere was exiting.

Unfortunately the garden was under construction for a car park so the view was blocked and work started at 9am in the morning-so no lie in! For a 4 star hotel I expected a larger room and a little more plush. The breakfast area and breakfast was great and the service very friendly and polite. Our room at the front backed onto an area where sunday afternoon drinkers frequented so it was a little noisy with the windows open. I would stay again but ask for an upper back room. Very convenient to walk to from the local bus drop off point so no hilly walks which was a godsend. Bergamo itself is a very pretty.

There did were construction work going on when we staid there. It seems that the hotel will be enlarged (incl. extra parking place)therefore I'm looking forward to stay in this hotel when I'm in Bergamo again.

The hotel has recently been refurbished so rooms and public areas are welcoming. The staff are quietly efficient and extremely polite. The location is great and rooms have views of the surrounding mountains (and the Roman ruins in the garden!). We have been to Bergamo a number of times and prefer this hotel to others we have stayed at in Citta Alta. Bergamo is famous for great food so the fact that the hotel offers breakfast only is not a problem at all, there are plenty of places to try, suiting all budgets. Overall an excellent stay!

Excellent hotel with friendly and professional staff. Superb breakfast. We had the upgraded room and was really content. Hotel is perfectly located in the old town ("Cita Alta") of Bergamo. The ongoing excavation work in the front of the hotel is temporary situation, but workers held back compressor noice until 08.30 AM on a Wednesday. It allowed us a quiet morning. Thanks a lot for your concideration! We would be happy to visit San Lorenzo again. A tip: Take the shuttle-bus from the airport via railway station to Cita Alta (only 200m from the hotel).

The hotel was fine with excellent breakfast, but our room faced a construction site, although we requested a nice view.

The location of the San Lorenzo is ideal for exploring the Citta Alta, the 8.00 am bells are delightful and it is convenient for the bus to the airport. The breakfast is plentiful and very varied. The staff could not be nicer. We have been to Bergamo three times in the past 18 months. On each occasion we have stayed at the San Lorenzo but we have now decided not to stay there again as the rooms are tiny and very expensive now that the pound has dropped so much. It is a four star hotel and has every facility to meet that standard, however, we have now discovered other accommodation in Citta Alta which is a lot cheaper and still has character.

If you are in Bergamo for a liesure visit there is no hotel that comes close to enjoy the historic city. Great location, price and service and you are steps away from everything the old city has to offer.

Our second stay at the hotel. This room was larger than the last one we had but still very small for a 4* hotel otherwise excellent.

The four star rating of the San Lorenzo must have been done by someone seeing double!

The hotel had four stars, which is quite overrated. But the price/quality was O.K. We have chosen the hotel because of its central location. There are several wine bars and restaurants near the hotel. Thee rooms where clean and nice. We missed a little the windows in the breakfast room.

Nice and quiet place to stay to visit old part of Bergamo. Single rooms (bed width!) are pretty much small....

To get the negative viewpoint over with, the rooms are small, the tv is small, there is no kettle in the room and there is limited space in the bathroom to place your toiletries. That said, the rooms are spotless and smell beautifully fresh. The ambience of the hotel matches its environment - it is in a beautiful and convenient location, it is calm and peaceful, the views are wonderful and our whole stay was extremely restful. The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite, the breakfast was good, despite there being no hot cooked food, and the gift of small easter eggs at the breakfast table was most appreciated. This may not be the biggest or flashiest hotel in the world, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to other couples wishing to explore the beautiful citta alta of Bergamo without reservation.

Excellent small hotel well located in Bergamo's Old Town. Close to a few bars and restaurants. A small room but with a balcony that has nice views. Good breakfast offered as part of the deal. Staff were excellent and very helpful - would recommend this hotel.

El hotel está muy bien situado, la zona es muy bonita y tranquila. La habitación y las vistas se corresponden con las fotos. El desayuno y la atención inmejorable. La única pega es la campana de la iglesia que repica muy temprano. 100% recomendable. Repetiremos.

Sorry but small rooms which they may not be able to do anything about but as an example had the sort of TV you might get in a B and B very disappointing.

Good choice for Citta Alta. Excellent location

The San Lorenzo is a friendly, welcoming hotel that is close to the restaurants and bars in the Citta Alta of Bergamo. It is not directly on the main area, so is largely quiet at night. Some ground floor rooms are on the front and side of the hotel & these may be noisier. Breakfast is a wide variety of cereals, bread, meats, cheeses, fruits and sweet pastries. You have the choice of hot drinks which are served to you. All the staff in the hotel are helpful and speak different languages. The hotel is immaculately clean and although the rooms are small, they are not uncomfortable. There were a variety of people of different ages and nationalities staying at the hotel. I would recommend a stay here.

Seemed relatively good value. Lovely setting in old town. My room (dbl for single use) had a nice balcony overlooking garden. I would definitely go back. The staff could have been a bit more friendly although they were professional in their attitude.
