Hotel Royal - Benidorm

This was the first time we stayed at the hotel - on the recommendation of friends.Close to all amenities. Food was excellent mixture of spanish/international.Bar prices very reasonable. Staff very friendly - I would highly recommend this hotel

Poor breakfast, and bad quality

Nice hotel, close to old town and not far from new town bars and pubs etc. Generally good rooms, with TV etc. , clean, food is international and not a great deal of local fayre which would have been slightly better. Generally good value hotel.

After a somewhat dramatic arrival - owing to roadworks we could not find the hotel and after asking a policeman finally arrived with a police escort - the hotel was very suitable for a short stay in Benidorm. There were two inital problems - you have to leave your car at the carpark entrance to get a card from reception to the annoyance of other motorists and they had not received our booking from Venere. These were quickly sorted and we were allocated a quiet room overlooking the pool with all the normal fittings. The hotel is well situated for visiting the old town and only a few minutes from the beaches. The clientele were mainly Spanish but there were no language problems and the food, which although buffet style was well above average for this class of hotel with well cooked and presented food with good variety including, strangely enough for predominantly Spanish guests, Yorkshire puddings !! - properly risen and, after initial trials, rapidly finished off!! This was a one night visit but we would have no reservations about recommending it for a longer stay.
