Very nice hotel at a very low rate. Our room had a fantastic view of the lake. The Hotel is 3 Km far from the center of Bellagio, but it is a fantastic solution if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. The personnel was extremely kind giving us lots of useful information. Breakfast is very good with many different options available. Strongly suggested for couples.

The Hotel was very pleasant the staff were friendly and helpful. The decor was rather 'loud' being rather bright yellow! Over all the stay was fine the low point was a fairly poor breakfast with very limited choice for a nice hotel. The driving instructions were poor and concentrated mainly on approaching Bellagio from one direction only.

This is a small hotel a little outside of Bellagio but very much worth the distance. The staff is competent and kind, and the lady in charge of the bar in the evening deserves a special mention for her kindness and warm attention. After visiting the city we got back at the hotel after the bar was closed and she just opened it again for us, not common anywhere. I never knew her name but she is one of those persons that makes the name of a place go highest. The view of the Como Lake from the terrace is simply breathtaking. Breakfast is simple but enough to hit the road. Beds were comfortable and rooms had the right size. I would only suggest the management to update the bathromm that is small and looks old. Nothing to keep us away in our next visit to Belaggio but definitely an upgrade for the place. A fair value for the money. When in the city, if there is not much time available, I suggest to take a 1.5 hours voyage on a boat by the lake, and to climb the stairs of one of the various streets starting at the dock and heading to the cathedral with small restaurants and shops on both sides.

We had a very large 2-floor appartment with a GREAT view for an reasonable price. If you like to ride road bikes up really steep hills like the Tour de France the area around the hotel is great for that! You have to drive or take a taxi from the hotel to Bellagio as it is quite far above the town. Parking in Bellagio is VERY hard to come by and not marked well for what is free and what is reserved for locals. The one restaurant in Bellagio that the hotel recommends will come out and pick you up and take you home - I highly recommend it.

I truly liked being there, all the stuff is very kind and always willing to give you an excellent welcome, a men there speak 4 languages very well, excellent spanish! and he helped us to carry our baggage to our room. Breakfast is full and rich, delicious, i love it! everything made by them The only inconvenient is that you must have call a taxi once you are in Bellagio to be there in this hotel, but you can ask to the hotel for they can pick you up and take you back to Bellagio for few euros. Thanks!

A wonderful experience! The staff service is 5******, even though the hotel only 2**. The rooms are constantly kept clean and the view is simply breathtaking. The friendliness of the staff is wonderful, a product of a family-run business for sure. A good mixture of nationalities and guests and the home-made food was also excellent. The shuttle service is also a great idea (and very xheap) if you can't walk the 25 minutes or so to Belaggio. Cheers for making our honeymoon a wonderful one! Barrie & Britta xx

The location is fabulous, and the view spectaculor. The manager was very helpful and accomodating with our very late arrival. You should have a car if staying there, and explicit instructions as to how to reach the site. We stayed only one night, but would go there again because the quality of the facility and the price is very reasonable.

Can't beat the view - it was worth the price of the room, especially as we had nice weather. The dinner was ... well, not recommended. They put the same moldy cauliflower out both nights we were there. The room was fine and very clean but not really big enough for us and the baby, though I think they have nicer, bigger rooms.

There were 3 of us travelling together and the recommendation was the family room. It was a strange sort of set up with a large room upstairs with a wonderful view of Lake Como but kind of spartan with respect to furniture and then a room in the "basement" with another wonderful view of Lake Como, three comfortable beds (probably the most comfortable of the many we slept in over the two weeks in Italy) and a minimalist bathroom. The upstairs room could have been more useful if there was at least a bar fridge and a few comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing. Even better would have been a kitchenette - there was certainly enough space for one. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The terrace and view were spectacular and the breakfast quite decent. I think my disappointment was mostly the amount I paid for the family room and what I got. If it was 30 - 50 euros cheaper I would have been more satisfied.

It has always been a dream to go to Lake Como. Bellagio is a fantastic central area to be in, and Hotel Il Perlo Panorama gives you the perfect view day and night. It provides a beautiful country-like venue that is quiet and allows you to step out of the hussle and bustle of the touristy areas of Bellagio. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and so is the staff. Breakfasts can be taken al fresco on the patio overlooking the lake. Small dinners are also provided if you do not feel like going into town. Helpful to have your own transport for the evenings. We had lovely walks to the town centre in the mornings. Some restaurants have a free taxi service to/from the hotel if you have dinner with them. Well worth staying here if you want a more country-like setting. Exceeded our expectations (created by some of the traveller reviews).

Wonderful hotel with friendly family atmosphere. The staff are most helpful. The view from the front of the Hotel is absolutely stunning. Only downside is that it is some 4km from Bellagio and you are dependent on the Hotel shuttle service as the taxi service in Bellagio is hopeless.

Splendid view!!! The best view of Lake Como. Very nice personnel. A 2 star hotel that's worth a 3 star Hotel. Unfortunately there's a very noisy river that runs next to the hotel and we had to sleep with earplugs. That's the downside along with the price which is a little steep for a 2 star.

The name "Il Perlo Panorama" describes this jewel overlooking Lake Como and Bellagio. Carlo and his mother, Piera, are the most delightful innkeepers. We reserved the family room since we were w/ our 21 yr old son. It was on two floors w/a side terrace. There is no A/C but do not worry b/c it's cool at night - good breezes. Very comfortable beds and modern bathroom. You can have drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake and breakfast as well. They take you into town for 1 euro. Lots of great restaurants and trattorias there plus shopping. Do not miss the Villa Melzi - short walk from the center of town - so worth it! I took so many photos while in Bellagio! We arrived via train from Milano to Varenna and then a ferry to Bellagio. Lovely! Carlo gave us a pass to the Bellagio Sporting Club to watch the World Cup game and the Holland win! I already miss it!

Very nice hotel with beautiful views and terrace. Be careful they offer a shuttle for 2Euros a person because it is quite a ways from Bellagio itself. I paid the driverwho worked for hotel, the 2Euros each for me and my husband plus tip. Went to check out and was charged 24 Euros explained I paid it,every trip, women insisted I had to pay it again to hotel. So was quit expensive shuttle rides

This hotel only has one outstanding feature: the best panoramic view in Bellagio! Not other hotels in the area come even close to that view! On the downside, three things come to mind: - the miniature size of the washroom - the fact that there is a charge for internet use. - although breakfast was included in the price of the room, the restaurant facilities were very spartan and the quality and quantity of food served left much to be desired.

Location, location, location. Il Perlo Panorama has it, in spades. The hotel is perched up on a hill overlooking the lake with truly panoramic views. Our room (#16) was very spacious and had two terraces, each of which had lake views. The view overlooking Bellagio with the lake and snow-capped alps in the background was truly breathtaking. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel also offers a shuttle service (1 euro p/p each way, charged to your room) several times a day between the hotel and the lake-front Post Office in Bellagio for those who choose not to walk the 3km down the hill or back up. The breakfast buffet included in our quoted room rate was quite satisfactory. Overall we were extremely pleased with Il Perlo Panorama and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

First time to Bellagio and we loved it. The hotel is a short drive from the village and has the most stunning view from the terasse (and some of the rooms). Courtesy car is available but at a cost. Beautiful walks in the surrounding hills of the hotel. Management was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The bus journey from Como to Bellagio made my wife sick. We took the ferry back, which was a much smoother ride...

Service at the front desk is neither friendly nor very helpful. Rooms and water are cold on arrival. Was suprising to find that you have to pay for a proper coffee at breakfast. Only instant coffee was included in the price. It's just a small thing but it shows how stingy they are. It doesn't have the feel of a bed and breakfast at all, but more like a run down hotel. It's a shame, the hotel is in a fantastic position and does have a great view, but the owners don't make an effort to give good service.

Cheapest hotel we found in Bellagio. Great great location with a gorgeous view over the lake! Old house makes it a bit noisy (from corridor and other rooms) and rooms were a bit cold. Very cosy interior, you would feel like at home. You need a car to town, or you can use their shuttle service.

The hotel exceeded our expectation with it's beautiful location, quiet and high on a hill overlooking Bellagio, Lake Como, and the land on either side of the lake. We left the door/windows open all night. It's a basic, no-frills decor and, we thought, a good value for Bellagio. Breakfast was standard Italian fare: granola, yogurts, lunch meat & cheese, pastries, juices, but coffees from a machine (which tasted fine). Can take breakfast up to your terrace. There were some small balconies and a large (not private) terrace across the length of the building as well as a large patio terrace at the edge of the property. With a car, we liked the location much better than an in-town property. The reception people were very nice and helpful and spoke English as we, unfortunately, do not speak Italian. The shuttle was a godsend on Sunday when town was too full of tourists to park! Take note--wish we'd gone on our various excursions on Sunday and strolled town on the weekdays. I think this hotel was the best value/view/location/size of our 14 day trip including four hotels.

Gorgeous view over Bellagio. Pleasant, spacious rooms but noisy on one side with cars and trucks honking around the corners above the hotel. Not advisable to stay if you do not have a car. Shuttle service is inadequate, and taxis spotty and unavailable to return from dinner in town. Breakfast was sub-standard, unless you like coffee from a push button machine. Hosts pleasant, but other factors against them.

Hotel Il Perlo Panorama offer stunning views and a quiet get away from the town of Bellagio. The shuttle service and public bus can get you back and forth to the town. If you want night life and regular activities in town, stay in town. However, I will stay at the Il Perlo for the quiet peacefullness and stunning views. We ate a nice late lunch in town, went to local shops for wine, bread, olives, fruit, cheese stuffed peppers, and had our own light picnic on our terrace in the evening. I'm a walker and discovered that there was a variety of footpaths that can take you down the mountain SAFELY to other small towns and to Bellagio...ask for directions....the beautiful walk was one of the high points of my vacation. We stayed in the SMALL room with a TINY shower...a large person would not even fit through the door. However, its terrace with hillside view, sounds of waterfalls, and partial lake view made up for the cramped space. The price was right, but might upgrade to a balcony unit next time. Travelers with cars would do especially well at this location.

Il Perlo Panorama on the hilltop overlooking Bellagio, Lake Como, the Alps, etc. was awesome! It gave us a perfect setting to view one of the most beautiful areas in the world! Like this hotel and its setting very much. Only improvement I would suggest is its shuttle from Bellagio post office. It should be more frequent and free of charge. Why would you charge 2 or 4 euros to customers when they pay 80 euros for a room? It was odd, I can certainly offer that as a tip which should be much more appropriate. Front desk is very nice and welcoming. Room is great although hot water doesn't work out with the main shower (there is another shower head outside the shower stall!). Breakfast is terrific along with its hospitality for travellers.

We stayed at this two star B&B for two nights early November, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner(Piera)was most helpful and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The view from our room (16) was fantastic. Although some distance from Bellagio, we had a hire car and found signposted directions were good. Given the time of year which was out of season, Bellagio was very quiet, but I think this would be the place stay in the busier times since parking is no problem.

We chose to pay a little bit more for a room with a view and what a fabulous view it was! There are mixed things to say about our stay at Il Perlo - positives were the view (including an outdoor balcony where you could sit and enjoy the view for many afternoons) and the helpfulness of the staff (they were both incredibly nice and let us play chess in what appeared to be the private part of the hotel). There were, however, quite a few negatives, first and foremostly, my husband and I liken their pillows to rocks!!! Also, the hotel is a long way from the centre of Bellagio (although the hotel does offer tranfers for 1 - 2€ and there are five local restaurants that will pick you up for dinner for free) and the breakfast was pretty poor (having said that, it was shoulder season, so may be better in peak season) and it is impossible not to spray the shower all over the floor (just a hose over a bath).

The hotel has a fantastic location above Bellagio and so the views from the terrace are incredible. Because of this the hotel is a little out of the way so you do need transport to get to Bellagio itself. We had our car with us and were able to park just above the town with no problems. The hotel is a little old fashioned and quirky but the hospitality of the staff was excellent. The reason I've only given 5 for quietness of rooms was that we had a side window over a rushing stream which was noisy at night but the view made up for it from our terrace.

We were in a standard lake view room, the room was large, the bathroom small but enough. The view was amazing, you could see the lake and the hills. The hotel is very quiet and has the best views of the lake. You have breakfast in the terrace seeing the lake and you don't want to move from there! Something negative could be the dinner buffet, which I found expensive (15 euros) for what you get, but anyways, they waited 40 min for us, so I cant complain! You need a car to go to the city, but if you dont have car, the hotel has a shuttle service (it takes 5 min to go to Belaggio center). The women in charge are really nice and helpful. Bellagio is the nicest town to go if you travel to Lake Como, and in there, I think this hotel has the best views. We would go again there without any doubt, we loved it.

The owners are extremely "STINGY". We travel with a baby so we requested an extra towel. The mother of the owner only would give us a towel if we pay for it!!! We travelled in Italy for a month and Bellagio was last stop, and also has the worst service, we never got asked to pay extra for towels anywhere else in the world!!! The view is amazing but I would only stay there for one night. There's a restaurant in Belliago with very similiar view if not better with great food. I would only go to the restaurant for dinner and the view next time. THe location is extremely remote!!! Only one bus an hour from downtown to the hotel and is not walking distance, hotel provides 3 shuttles services a day but each way is 1EURO per person. PS. my husband sees a piece of dried poop in the bathtub, very gross!!!

Absolutely gorgeous! We could not stop talking about how beautiful it was here. It is a short ride up from town, but the hotel offers rides and a taxi ride was only 6-8 euros. Totally worth it. We will be back!

The owners were friendly throughout our stay and were very helpful and accommodating. The location, although slightly off the beaten treack, was excellent with a spectacular view of Lake Como. The foom was a junior suite that was large enough to spread out. While not air conditioned, a fan kept it cool during the late afternoon when we returned, and opening the windows kept it comfortable at night. We met some very nice people.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. Desk staff were very helpful and the view was beyond beautiful. Only issue is the distance from town without a vehicle. No shuttle or city bus ran after 1845 making dinner arrangements difficult. There are a couple of restaurants about 1 Km down the hill, but walking back up the narrow road in the dark was scarey. The hotel put out a small cold buffet in the evening for 15 euro, but we didn't try it, and a few restaurants ran shuttle service with a reservation. We had a great stay, and sights on the lake are best accessed by ferry, but all-in-all I think I would have enjoyed this location more if I had a car. Another transportation hint: Best public transportation route Milan to Bellaggio: Train direct from Milan Centrale to Varenna then ferry across the lake to Bellaggio.

We loved this place. It's not flashy or sophisticated but with that view we didn't care. Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight. The manager gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and was extremely courteous. This is a great budget stay in what can be an overpriced part of the world.

Un peu loin du centre ville mais le systeme de taxi particulier assez pratique. Vue magnifique si on a une chambre bien située face au lac.

This was our first stay at Il Perlo Panorama and it was unforgetable! We stayed in the suite with a panoramic view of Lake Como and the Alps-breathtaking-especially when waking in the morning. The lady (owner) was most helpful and very courteous.A short trip(15 mins)to Bellagio-beautiful!We are definitely coming back-please don't get too expensive- your rates are very reasonable! Thank you for an enjoyable and restful way to tour and see Lake Como.Ciao!

WARNING: if you do take an italian coffee on breakfast, prepare to pay additional charges (they don't tell it to you, you have the suprise on the bill) ! Many problems with this hotel: very much noise, rooms very small, shower booth too small to move inside (I'm 182cm tall and couldn't bend myself), the toilet flush was leaking all night making disturbing noise, the breakfast is very poor. You can't walk down to Bellagio, prefer taking the car. There is a good view from the terrasse. In conclusion, price is very high comparing to overall quality.

Try the lake view rooms. They have the best view ever. Our window fazed the Swizz Alps and it was awesome. The staff was really helpful. The breakfast is not the strongest point, but the products have excellent quality, fresh and homemade. Remember to be punctual. When it says it ends at 10, it ENDS. Try to walk the surroundings. Stay more than one day.

Unbelievable views of Lake Como from rooms, especially Junior Suites. Transportation from Bellagio to hotel is a bit of a challenge at times. Hotel staff will pick up when not busy. Taxi service is non-existent.

There is a reason this property has Perlo and Panorama in the name - if you can't be down on the lakefront, I think you would want to be where Il Perlo is! We stayed in the junior suite, and if you want some Lake Como romance, comfort and space, take it! Service by Il Perlo's host was 100% fantastic - so helpful, friendly and warm. Great value, fabulous views, close enough to Belaggio, it's a winner!

We LOVED Il Perlo Panorama! Driving to it, we were a little disappointed about how far we would be from the main area of Bellagio, but the drive was easy to get to the town. And the views of Como from our room (even from our bed) were unbelievable! We would never have had such an amazing view from a hotel right in the middle of things. We were able to take some really nice hikes right from the door of our hotel. Plus, being out of the city, the rooms were quiet and peaceful. Our room was spacious and the staff was so helpful and friendly! I would say the value for this room is excellent. I have already recommended this hotel to my parents who are planning a trip, and I know that we would book this hotel again if we get to return to Bellagio.

The city of Bellagio is a must to visit and from where you can take the ferry to visit other small cities around this beautifull lake. We were serenaded by many coocoo birds and a dunkey that is close to the Hotel. In the morning a Rooster was also heard but did not inconvenience or disturb us. The view from this Hotel is awesome!

A very quiet place to stay, with spectacular views. We would have preferred more modern (western) bath accomodations, but the experience did not significantly detract from our enjoyment of the location and the friendly, accomodating staff.

Charming place with a gorgeous view of Lake Como; owners are very pleasant and try to be accomodating. However, the hotel is several miles from town and unless you have a car, getting to and from Bellagio is difficult. The hotel does provide a shuttle service (1 euro pp each way) but it only runs 3 times a day at pre-determined times. There are no restaurants near the hotel, although a few do offer a free shuttle service to and from their restaurant for lunch or dinner. For someone without a car who wants to be in the center of activity, this would not be the place you would want to stay.

Bellagio is beautiful but hotels are expensive. Il Perla Panorama is a good value compared to some of the more expensive hotels in town but it's location is not good without a car. Bathroom facilities are limited. Our first room had a shower that was barely big enough to stand in, forget about even trying to bend over. We switched to a room with a bath tub for an additional 10 euros ( and I had already reserved one of the more expensive rooms with a view of the lake). I would say the hotel was good for the money but I think if I was to go again I would consider looking at a hotel in one of the other lake towns like Tremezzo or Varenna. If you do go to lake Como be sure to visit the Villa Melzi Gardens and just south of Tremezzo the Villa Balbonesi another beautiful spot where they filmed part of the last James Bond movie.

It's well worth paying for the lake view - the view of the alps and the lake is breathtaking ! We really appreciated the welcome and helpfulness of the owner.Wide selection at breakfast. Comfortable bed. No restaurant but there was a free shuttle service provided by selected restaurants in town which we took advantage of.

The best asset is the view. I would stay there just for the view. It is far from town, but we had a car, although parking is a problem. Still, I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful views from the terrace, though our actual room faced the road. We used the van service into town (we had a car, but didn't want to park in town) and it was definitely worth it. We had a pizza and a few drinks out on the terrace that evening, which was nice. Breakfast was okay, pretty standard.

The lady at the front desk was very warm, kind, and gentle when we arrived and made us feel like welcomed customers. However, we attempted to use the wireless internet and it failed two times. We had to go to battle with her to get our 10 euros back (5x2)! She was adament that it was our computer and not their service. She did a complete 180 and treated us like her enemy. The hotel itself is a very nice value and has great views...its a little far from downtown. You can pay for them to shuttle you back and fourth. You also have to pay for anything other than regular coffee for breakfast and we were not allowed to bring anything (food, drinks, etc.) from breakfast to our room. The same lady was very rude and adament that it was against their policy! I would not return to this hotel and not recommend it to others.

When driving be aware sign posts in Italy are few and far between. This made finding Bellagio and Il Panorama a little "testing". Views across Lake Como to the Alps are magical (once the mist lifted). Excellent base for touring lakes area and Switzerland, particularly if you have a car. As often happens in Italy the heating in the rooms is at the whim of the landlord, and in late Autumn it was not turned on despite a sudden large drop in the temperature. Breakfast very good, but most coffees incur an additional charge - annoying.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The view is spectacular. Book one of the terrace view rooms. The owners were very nice and very helpful with information on what to see and do. Our room was clean and comfortable with doors that opened on to the terrace and the amazing view. The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. Getting to the hotel can be a bit tricky. If you are driving to the hotel spare yourself the hair raising drive from Como to Bellagio and come in from the Lecco side(and I am used to driving on Italian roads). Thirtyfive km from Como to Bellagio and I only got the car into 3rd gear maybe four times (very narrow and with lots of blind curves and oncoming traffic). Once you get just outside of Bellagio look for signs to the hotel on the walls at the round abouts. They tend to be mounted lower than where you would expect them to be. Over all we would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will stay at Il Perlo Panarama again the next time we visit Bellagio.

This was our first stay at the hotel. Our reception was cordial and warm. Although our room was not huge it was comfortable and overlooked Lago Como so we had a spectacular view. The bathroom was very nice, though if you are unfamiliar with a hand held shower, it takes some getting used to. The owners were very helpful pointing us in the direction of good restaurants and helping us get around Bellagio.
