The town is fabulous. But this hotel should be avoided at all costs. Booked a room at 295 Euros per night but we were led out of main hotel and 50 meters down the hill to what looked and felt like an old storage facility converted to a couple extra rooms. Tile floors. TV didn't work. Spent first 30 minutes killing spiders. We asked to move but they said they were unresponsive and unconcerned claiming they didn't have room in main hotel. We stayed this trip in wonderful hotels in Florence and Milan. The Hotel Belvedere is the worst hotel we have stayed in years. Oh, and their restaurant closes at 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a terrific hotel and far outweighs its 3* rating and compares favourably with 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed on during this vacation. The amenities are excellent, staff are friendly and responsive. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival and the view over the back lake of Como is wonderful and serene. We dined each night at the restaurant and the food is of good quality and the wine list extensive enough. The hotel pictures on the web do not do the grounds justice. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk away down to Bellagio itself and is a nicer place to stay than some of the hotels down the hill in terms of quietness. Bellagio itself is an ideal point on Como for both ferries and the many private boat operators for touring the many beautiful spots on the lake such as Villa Carlotta, Melzi, Balbianello et al.

The Belvedere is a fantastic hotel, location is a 5 to 10 minute walk to central Bellagio and has great views of the lake. The buffet breakfast was excellent. We were lucky enough to receive a room upgrade and we were very happy with the room. Pool area is very nice and it was a bonus having somewhere to park the car for free. We would recommend the Blevedere to our friends.

Third holiday here, standards better than ever apart from the minor issue of poor coffee, once again it seems! Pristine housekeeping, highly efficient reception, relaxing environment and first class service combine with the setting to make for a wonderful stay.We ate in the restaurant on several occasions for lunch and dinner - the overall standard was actually better than many of the more celebrated local places and the style of cooking struck a perfect balance between international and mainstream Italian tastes.Seriously good reasonably priced wine list.Immaculately maintained pool and surrounding area.Room with a view comfortable and spacious although not necessarily preferable to some of the larger rooms without lake exposure. After all you get the vista in the restaurant and main grounds anyway.A thoroughly enjoyable experience.Highly recommended.

We stayed three nights in June at this lovely hotel and had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay in a junior suite with a fantastic view of the lake from our terrace. Beautiful bedlinen and very comfortable bed. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Very good breakfasts. It's true there is a flight of steps up the hill to the hotel but we found this was more than made up for by the peaceful situation of the hotel and of course the beautiful view down over the lake (and there is a lovely ice cream shop on the way!) We would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel with so much to offer. I would go back here in a heartbeat and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Lake Como. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

It would have been great to know that the Hotel Belvedere had a car to pick up guests from the ferry. We were only informed about that upon checkout. Our group had to bring our luggage all the way up the hill to get to the hotel. And when we arrived (around 3:00 PM), our room wasn't even ready. We were given a key to use a bathroom to freshen up, but the bathroom had been used and not cleaned, so there were dirty towels on the floor. Our check in experience was not a very welcome one. However, once we were checked in, the stay was fine. The rooms were nice and the service was good.

Lovely hotel, very clean and friendly, helpful staff. Good location, only 5 mins walk from village centre. I thought it was expensive compared to similar hotels in Ireland (€271 per night) but I guess Bellagio is quite an expensive destination anyhow. We chose the hotel for its location overlooking the lake, which is gorgeous and very relaxing. We also chose it for the pool and sundeck area. Unfortunately it rained every day and wasn't warm enough for sunbathing so I don't think it is worth the money if you can't make use of these facilities. The breakfast is good, we didn't have dinner in the hotel.

Excellent overall standard. Well posotioned overlooking the lake on the approach to Bellagio.Good room with large terrace on the landward side. Absence of lake view not lamented as back road quiet and plenty of inspiring views from restaurant and pool area. Good cooking in the restaurant and efficient service. Very well maintained pools. Most enjoyable stay. Only minor negative note was the poor coffee!
