It really was the perfect location! It's in the north side of Dongcheng district and it's a very charming area. Stayed in Beijing for two weeks and we loved the location of this hotel!

The good points: the staff could not have been more helpful and willing to please. The hotel was surprisingly quiet at night considering it was in a busy area, and the air conditioning is very quiet. The hotel was walking distance from the 'Hou Hai' area of bars and restaurants. There was never a problem hailing a taxi from outside the hotel. It is useful that the hotel is just by a landmark (Drum Tower - Gulou) for coming home. The hotel was able to organise laundry (very cheap compared with usual hotel prices, £2.50 for a 30 item load, but not ironed). Bad points: the hotel is pretty basic - do not be fooled by the 'boutique' tag. The 'bathroom' has a drains smell, is tiny, and there is just a shower fitment on the wall. The beds are very hard. There is no wardrobe, just some coathangers on the wall.

The hotel is quite centrally located with easy access to the public transport. The hotel staff was very cordial, helpful and friendly with reasonably good English. Breakfast was welcome, though could improve. I shall certainly consider this hotel on my next visit, and will also recommend to my friends.

I was very favorably impressed by the politeness and friendliness of the staff, especially at reception. They make one feel really welcome - quite an achievement for Beijing. This was a very short stay, only 2 days, so I was unable to really appreaciate the facilities and service. The overall feeling was pleasant, so I would most likely go back for a longer stay.

By train
From Beijing train station, take the subway line no. 2 to GuLouDaJie station. From the exit B, walk about 500 meters/0.3 miles and you will arrive at the end of the street. Turn left and you will see Diananmen street. Don't turn right, but walk straight ahead until you will find the Beijing Perfect Inn.
By airplane
From Beijing Capital International Airport, take the airport shuttle bus line A to DongZhiMen, then take the subway to the GuLouDaJie station and follow the indications above.
