We booked in one night only to go to a relative's funeral, on arrival I asked to view the room, and was shown to a twin room as requested. Unfortunately it was very stale and smokey, despite having a "Thank you for not smoking sign on the table". Fortunately as the hotel was not busy we were upgraded to a better room which did not smell of smoke. Everything about the hotel fine apart from no restaurant, this should have been made clearer on the website.

Do not accept Room #11 if you prefer an enclosed bathroom. This room was the attic with the bathtub exposed to the sleeping area. We would return to this hotel if we had a different room.

Beaune is a very cute French town and very wine-centric if you're looking for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This hotel is well located near to the train station and the bike rental store, and is next to a square with several of the town's great restaurants. The breakfast buffet is overpriced, especially given the many bakeries on the square, and there is also a grocery store that's handy for picnic supplies. The room we had was not large, but was clean and comfortable. It was very quiet until construction started early each morning - apparently this was the hotel's work crew and we couldn't believe the hotel would arrange to have them start so early. We complained and the hotel comp'd us breakfast, but that doesn't get them off the hook because they were the ones who allowed the work crew to start at that hour in the first place.

Great location - just a few blocks outside of the city walls and easy access to the town and restaurants. It was a short walk from the train station too. For an excellent meal we recommend Le Jardin des Remparts restaurant (Michelin rated). For an inexpensive but amazingly delicious lunch we recommend Bistro de la Gare that is catty-corner from the train station.

A nice town, and a nice hotel, next to the ancient Downtown. The parking is very good, as the rooms and the attention.

Nice small hotel close to all major attractions. Secure parking available in back of hotel for 5 euros. Did not need the car again until we departed. Restaurants and cafes close by and a bakery across the street. This was one of the best values in a hotel we found during our 8 days in France. Highly recommended.

Hotel is just as described - location is excellent within walking distance of the centre ville and restaurants etc. Couldn't have chosen better. Rooms clean and modern. We stayed in a family room for 4 of us. Had a separate shower room, separate bath and separate toilet. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

We were quite comfortable in the quad room. The only thing is there was one window a little high up but as we were there when the weather was cool and rainy it was fine. We did use their a/c at night, as it got a bit muggy, which worked well. We did not have their breakfast but their service at the desk was good. We were always helped if we had a question. The location was good as there were cafes, boulangeries and even a grocery store within a few minutes walk!!

Very nice hotel with a helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and quiet room overlooking a private courtyard. Secure parking provided and a nice bonus. Well located near the old town centre and a variety of good restaurants. Enjoyed our brief stay in the area, city and the hotel. Highly recommended.

We've stayed here 2 times. The first time, we had a tasteful, modern room with a fantastic bathroom. The second time, we had a very outdated, noisy room with a smelly bathroom... A bit disappointing, considering both were standard rooms. But we will probably return to this hotel. Love the crêperie next door!

We had a wonderful experience all due to the great owner of the hotel. He was the highlight of our trip. He was very knowledgeable about vines, helped with great restaurants, wineries, sightseeing. Thank you for making our trip so very memorable.

We were disappointed that the room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. Smoke was it was engrained in the soft furnishings. Not ideal for a family room. The staff were very unhelpful and didn't seem bothered or willing to help us. If you are a non-smoker, one to avoid!

Schönes Hotel direkt am Rande der Stadt. Wir hatten ein 4-Bett-Zimmer welches sehr grosszügig und sehr sauber war. Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort absteigen.

Hotel de la Paix is a very good hotel. Car park and breakfast were convenient and good (both with a reasonable charge), rooms are quiet even though only about 3 blocks from Place Madeleine (PM), and it is no more than a 15 minute walk to anywhere in Beaune from the hotel. The people who worked at the De La Paix were kind and helpful. The TI nearest the hotel offers "packages", i.e., if you are planning to do 2, 3, or more different activities in or around Beaune (in our case, an afternoon/evening wine tour, Hotel Dieu, and one other thing) you buy the tickets there and they are discounted about 20-25%... and for any tour, they make the arrangements, you just show up at the TI on time and away you go. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, and the Avis car rental is about 2 blocks from the hotel, making it very easy if you want to pick-up or drop off a car. One of the perks that isn't mentioned anywhere is that for a 3 night stay at the Hotel you get a complimentary admission for 2 (usually 10 euro pp) to Chateau Pommard. We did the tour and tasting and it is definitely worth going if you have the time (the 3 wines we tasted were good, with the 2005 being excellent , and the marc which they produce and sell is also special)... 3 nights did not seem like too much time in Beaune or at the Hotel , there is much to do, and relaxing in the room late in the afternoon with a little wine and a snack is definitely not shabby either. Don't miss the degustation at Chateau Mersault, they have several wines and vintages to taste. There are 2 restaurants within a 3 minute walk from the hotel that are very good-- the names escape me, but one is 1/2 block to the right on the street just as you reach PM walking from the hotel, and the other is on the corner directly across the "bottom" of PM, on the same st. as the hotel. I would without a doubt stay at the same hotel if I ever am in Beaune again.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. This would have been the better of the hotels we stayed at, value for money. Hotel was close to areas around Beaune that we wanted to visit which made the stay very enjiyable. it was a pitty we didn't book for a week as 3 days was not enough. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent hotel with a disinctive style and admirable facilities in the bedroom. Our only reservation was to do with the breakfast: the French bread was uncharacteristically stodgy - a shame because everything else about the hotel was of a high standard!

Our first time in Beaune and our first time in Hotel De la Paix were both a pleasant surprise. This hotel is very near to the centre of Beaune and our room was excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so friendly. Car could be parked on the premisses. Price guality wise: very good. Interior of the room was done tastefully.

Catherine was exceptionally helpful and a witty, charming person. She helped me navigate the difficulties of making reservations for the Chunnel train and printed out the fare scedule from the web so I could get the tickets I wanted from SNCF. Breakfast was delicious and all the service was very friendly and helpful. The small courtyard garden before the entrance was delightful and the decor and furnishings were charming.

We stayed in an attic room which was quaint but a little un-safe for our infact but we managed well enough. For the price we paid, would expect a small breakfast to be inclued (coffee etc.) Probably better deals available if left to find a room on arrival.

A nice family running three star hotel located closely to the old city. We enjoyed our stay. The room is clean. The owner family provided us good services. The restaurant they recommended, Auberge Bourguignonne, was within one minute walk and fabulous.

Loved this hotel. It was clean and neat and very attractively decorated. I could walk the floors in barefeet, which is always an indicator for me of cleanliness. The staff was helpful and efficient. The location was a reasonable walking distance to the center of Beaune and had a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. I highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again.
