Hôtel Belle Epoque - Beaune

What a wonderful hotel. There were only 2 drawbacks: 1) our room was on the major thoroughfare into Beaune and traffic starts early (5:00am); 2) the internet access was very limited. However, both were superceded by incredible staff throughout our stay, at all hours. I will definitely return to this hotel although next time, I'll ask for a room not on the main road.

Well located for easy walking into Beaune.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Belle Epoch is an older, very quaint hotel located within easy walking distance of the center of Beaune, and an easy drive along the Cote De Beaune to some very famous chateaus and vinyards. It is situated on a very busy main street that leads to Beaune, which made entering and exiting the property via auto difficult during busy traffic hours. However, we found local drivers were courteous and would make room to allow us in and out of the driveway. The rooms are well appointed, except for wash cloths, which we found to be the case at another older hotel in Paris on the same trip. The single beds in our room were surprisingly comfortable and made for a good night's rest after a long day of driving, walking, and, of course, wine tasting. The staff was very cordial, helpful and spoke excellent English. While not included in the cost of the room, we appreciated the wonderful breakfast available each morning and the superb, very polite service provided by the staff. The full bar in the lobby was a nice convenience and made socilizing with our travel partners very enjoyable. The building lacks an elevator, but does have several rooms on the ground floor. We would recommend the Belle Epoch for travelers who want a taste of classic French accommodations at a reasonable price, and the convenience of locaton relative to Beaune and the many famous chateaus of Burgundy.

This is a wonderful hotel in Beaune! The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were modern and spacious for European standards. The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. Belle Epoque is quite literally across the street from the old town of Beaune so it is quite walkable. Service and cleanliness were outstanding! We can't save enough great things about the Belle Epoque and the price is extremely reasonable for the quality of the accomodations. You cannot go wrong by staying at the Belle Epoque!

A very pleasant stay in a large room, on an upper floor with character of old timber frame. Excellent location - only a few minutes walk from the city walls, and 5mins from central bars, etc. Secure parking provided for motorcycles at no additional charge. Recommended.

The Belle Epoque was the best hotel on our whole trip -- we had a twin room and both the bedroom and the brand new bathroom were huge (not just by European standards but by any standards). It was clean and well situated within walking distance of the old town and the Hotel-Dieu. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning to be in Beaune whether for a day or longer. Staff very helpfull, Beaune was a beautifull township. Wish we had stayed for a couple of days instead of just 1.

The staff was very welcoming from the moment we drove into the property to when we left. Offered recomendations for food and navigating the town. We would certainly return, especially since we did not speak French. The location to the city center is perfect, easy walking to food.

Nice hotel, great parking. Rooms were a bit dim, but nicely furnished. The woman working reception gave us a good map and a couple recommendations for dinner. After leaving Paris and meandering south, we arrived at Belle Epoque in the early afternoon, then we had a nice late lunch / early dinner at a restaurant the receptionist recommended before coming back to the hotel and relaxing. It was very quiet and secluded, as you are inside a gated compound off the main street.

This was the most expensive place we stayed on our holiday in France and the most mean. Rude check in staff,miserable breakfast and poor bathroom products. It was quiet in the room and the hotel was in a reasonable locationbut overall not good value and would not stay there again.

The breakfast was unremarkable and not a particularly good value, especially considering the ala carte pricing for extras such as yougurt or fruit. We took our breakfast in town after the first morning. Good sound insulation and the older section upstairs where our room was located was very roomy. There are some ground floor, newer rooms that may have been easier for luggage access, but they were all taken by one large group although the rest of the hotel seemed lightly occupied. Great access on foot to charming area within the walls of the vieux ville.

The parking was VERY tight and difficult to manuever.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable. The bathroom even had a hair dryer. The building itself was quite interesting with the old wooden beams. The hotel manager was very friendly and most helpful, personally arranging a taxi when we needed one. The location was also very handy, just half a block from the old city and points of interest. The dining room was a very pleasant place for breakfast. We'd definitely come back.

Very good quality for a 3* hotel. Much better than the close by La Poste. Very convenient for Beaune centre, and with its own (secure) parking. The hotel has a very quaint courtyard, within which the (decent) breakfast is served. Well worth trying the excellent restaurant (not affiliated with the hotel) a couple of doors down -- called Le Bénaton (www.lebeneton.com) -- our best meal in France by some margin.

Another wonderful stay at this hotel. We asked for a suite again and it was even larger than the one we had last year. Fantastic value and wonderful place to stay.

Hotel very charming, no street noise, very well situated, 5 minutes from center (Hospice of Beaune)many shops and restaurants.Clean, but plain carpet have some dusty spots. Large enclosed garage very well secured.

The hotel was elegant and well decorated. There was only one rather surly member of staff in attendance. Getting a cup of tea on arrival after a long journey was a problem, and she was extremely peremptory over any request.

Very pleasant room close to scenic city centre. Not sure I would want to stay for two weeks but great for a short break. Garage is very secure.

We met only nice people . We were the only danish at the hotel and our french are not very good. But we enjoyed the stay .

This hotel at really walking distance from the centre is a excellent reference for short visits to Beaune. Car parking is good!

It was an absolute perfect hotel and for sure we are going back to it next year.

A fantastic find, Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beaune. The staff could not have been more helpful; the room was very comfortable and decorated perfectly in sympathy with the period of the building. Great hotel!
