We stayed in the Chateau. Our room was large and recently renovated. The grounds are lovely and the Chateau is just off the ring road that makes it very convenient. You can't go wrong staying here.

Cost of breakfast for a family of four was excessive. It could have been included as in other hotels.

We stayed in Bayeux for two nights at the Hotel Chateau de Bellefontaine, and we were very pleased with this lovely hotel. The staff were all very friendly and polite, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We had rooms in the modern annex. The chateau itself and the grounds were beautiful! Everything was just as it was depicted in the description and photos online. Although this is not a hotel for those on a budget, I would recommend it to anyone looking for the experience of staying in a beautiful chateau that even has swans swimming nearby.

Our rooms were very spacious with high ceilings, large windows and a beautiful modern bathroom. The grounds were picturesque and well-kept. The continental breakfast had a nice selection of breads, fruits, cereals and juices.

The only complaint that I have is about the breakfast. If you showed up towards the end of the scheduled time not all of the items were available. they should be regurally checked and restocked when needed. Also I had to wait what seemed quite awhile before any service was given for coffee. Other than that, I had a great time and would stay there again if my travels took me there.

This hotel was very comfortable and our room was huge! We even had a full size bathtub. The lady at the front desk refused to speak to us in English but understood everything we were saying. She was a bit snotty but everything else made up for it. There were even swans that live in the little moat the surrounds the place. Very cute and a great place to stay while exploring the d-day beaches.

Very nice updated chateau. Beautiful property, but located near railroad tracks. One of the two beds in the suite was a pullout.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Our room was large and quiet and the setting was peaceful and pleasant, with swans on the pond (and cows grazing at a distance across the fence). Breakfast, although served in a very nice room, seemed expensive, and it would be a rather lengthy walk from Bayeux if you did not have a vehicle. No real complaints however and we would certainly return again.

The property is beautiful! We stayed in the stables in a modern duplex. We are a family of 5 with small children and it was perfect. The staff were wonderful and washed baby bottles and provided us with milk for our 16 month old baby! The town of Bayeux is also lovely. The overall location is great for exploring the region. we visited d-day beaches and Mont St. Michel and just enjoyed the Chateau's private and romantic setting. we even played tennis. We ate breakfast there and it was a typical continental breakfast but everything very fresh and delicious.

Excellent location and building; very helpful staff and good service. Breakfast overpriced for what it offered compared to many other French hotels; rooms varied in terms of spaciousness (one was, one wasn't)and heating barely adequate; bathrooms were disappointing : no proper shower, chipped veneer,no heating - some investment needed!

The chateau was beautiful, with large gardens, a lake, and great interior decorations in a spacious room. It was about 15 mins driving to Omaha Beach Memorial and 5 mins driving to the tapestry in Bayeux. We did not walk anywhere. The staff was very helpful and made reservations for us at La Raperie which was a great traditional French dinner. 5 course dinner for 2 with wine and coffee approx 100-150euro. The chateau would also make a great location for a reception or party with it's beautiful common areas and gardens.

what a wonderful and pleasant oasis --great location to base oneself,on a motoring holiday,to visit the Normandy battlefields and Bayeaux. My only reget is that I did not know about it; for if I had, my planning would have included a longer stay

This place is beautiful! Friendly staff, large, clean rooms, great price. Very convenient to the DDay beaches and the Bayeux town center. I would definitely stay here again.

The chateau is beautiful. Our room did not meet our expectations. While large, the furnishings were plain. The bathroom appointments were not of the quality to be expected. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the cold, unwelcoming demeanor of the proprietor. She should let more agreeable employees greet the guests. It is hard to overcome the impression she makes. However, if you can igore the above issues, you will enjoy the grounds, swans, ducks and overall beauty of the place. And, it is a good value at 90 euros.

The hotel is about 3/4 mile from the center of Bayeux, which makes a nice walk both before and after dinner. It's set in a pretty park and lake - with swans - and I would place it at 17th century. The service is correct rather than warm, but as our rooms were not ready when we arrived (we were early) the manager seated us in the parlor and brought us a bottle of rather nice Bordeaux while we waited for about 40 minutes. The rooms themselves (there were six of us so we had three rooms) were duplexes in a separate building, which, while it was ancien regime on the outside, had been completely gutted and was 21st century European modern on the inside: two bedrooms on two floors and two baths (one a toilet and one a shower and two sinks). I've read other comments regarding the place, but for a mixture of quaint quiet and modern bedrooms, we thought it was more than satisfactory and would recommend it. Breakfast, which was 12 Euros, was good, but the coffee was fabulous.

First time in Bayeux .. stayed 2 nights. Very puzzled as to why Bayeux Centre was almost totally closed on Wednesday September night with most restaurants closed, but complete opposite and bustling on the night before. Hotel is positioned quite a long way from restaurants for evening dinner if one walks because of drinking laws

We were put into a huge suite for the price we were quoted for a double, so we had lots of room. The hotel grounds are lovely, with ducks and swans, and the hotel itself is comfortable - would call it "shabby chic". Breakfast was average. The problem we had was that there was a family party (locals)that lasted into the wee hours, and they were very noisy outside and made no attempt to control their children, who were running and screaming until at least 1 a.m. We did give this feedback to the owner the next morning.

The hotel was excellent and located only a short walk (20 min.) from the town and restaurants, and the personnel friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, but would NOT have booked if I had realised there was no broadband connection as advertised (on the English web page anyway!). Not only did my 15 mins work result in 2.5 hours a night online, I had to pay for a dial-up french internet connection that I would not have had to do. Either Venere or the HOtel is responsible for this false advertising. INFURIATING and spoilt the stay. For those that dont need this feature, I'd recommend the hotel in fairness !

This was our first stay as a family in Bayeux. The hotel was a beautiful retreat in a busy trip. Everything was as stated. The only criticism was that we would have liked to take advantage of the common spaces more but couldn't because a business group using all of them.

GORGEOUS Chateau with a small lake on the property. Main house has several rooms and there is a new wing with townhouse-style apartments. These are very modern, with an upstairs loft. The only downfall was the only toilet was downstairs, and the only shower was upstairs. Other than that, a wonderful stay! The front desk staff didn't speak much English, but we communicated just fine. I would definitely stay here again!

The room was large, clean and spacious although a bit cold since our visit was during the winter and there are tile floors on the first floor. The water also did not heat enough to take a hot bath. Although the bathroom fixtures were asthetically pleasing, the were not practical. It was hard to get in and out of the tub and the sinks were not set up to wash one's face without making a big mess. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room and seemed expensive at 11 euros per person for a standard continental breakfast. Our limited contact with the staff was pleasant and helpful.
