Fine location within easy walking distance of centre and tapestry; adequate sized room. Bathroom rather tired and elderly, staff perfunctory. Lacking in charm or atmosphere. Restaurant - good service, but food only passable. Beware 9euro charge for parking. Overall - fine for an overnight stop but don't use it as a base for a longer stay.

Noisy. The bathroom smelt like urine. Poor service at the front desk. Inadequate parking space. Had to park a half mile away from the hotel each day. Poor TV reception. WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN.

Very comfortable room. Hotel staff spoke english and were very accomodating. Hotel is centrally located within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Hotel restaurant service and food were very good. Overall, a quite pleasant surprise.

We had a great experience with Le Grand Hotel de Luxembourg. Since associated with Best Western, it had the charm of Bayeux but the service of an Amercian institution. Cute, comfortable room. Conveniently located in the small city (15-20 walk from train station). Only gripe is the confusion with our check-out. Could have been a random mistake, but since the seemingly "in training" receptionist didn't speak/understand English so well, we had an inconvenient 15 minute discrepancy with our bill on the last of our 3 night stay. Would stay here again though!

For a three star hotel it was spacious and reasonably priced. We stayed in a suite and were very happy with the room.

1)There was no shelving in the bathroom, on which to place shaving and washing equipment. 2)The large window could not be held either part or fully open. The wind and rain caused the window to open and the interior of the room became wet. 3)The television was too high to view comfortably. 4)The toilet basin was badly stained. 5)Overall, we liked the hotel and the restaurant was excellent.

A nice hotel for a small town. It is right next to another Best Western hotel, which looked more basic, so this was definitely a higher quality hotel. The staff was compitent, but not too helpful on finding surrounding restaraunts. We ended up eating at the restaraunt in the hotel, which was actually quite nice. The only complaint is that the suite was not like the one pictured on the web site...it was more basic, but still nice. Overall a nice, quality hotel.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel. However, the toilet in our room did leak onto the floor.

I greatly enjoyed my stay. The Staff went out of their way to help. The neighborhood was what I was hoping for in my first trip to France. Old fashioned architecture and small stores within easy walking distance.

The Hotel, while hard to find is pretty close to the center of town. The resturant was a good value. The staff was friendly, but a couple of the desk people were less English capable, than others. I'd stay there again.

We were disppointed that a hotel of this rating would have such badly stained carpets in both the rooms we hired. Considering the price paid the rooms were not spacious

rooms were tired and dirty our freinds rooms carpet was heavilly stained only stayed room only and thought at 100 euros per room too much for poor standard

Very nice room overlooking free parking area. Satellite TV with CNN. Good restaurant on premises plus other good ones within walking distance. Good central location to visit Normandy beaches and museums.

Negative points were - no drawers or shelves (so you will live out of your suitcases), no towel racks, soiled carpet and poor lighting, particularly if you like to read in bed. On the plus side - they found an extra lamp for us, provided a complimentary electric kettle, tea bags, sugar & milk upon request, had a good shower (in tub), convenient location, very helpful and polite staff and we had 2 excellent dinners in their restaurant. We were in Bayeux for 5 nights and it was quiet, except when someone was in the adjoining room - you could almost hear them breathe! We would stay there again.

The hotel is in the centre of Bayeux. The breakfast, not included, is excellent. The parking is also very good. The rooms need complete redecoration with dirty paint and wallpaper and the carpets were spotted. The lights in the second floor landing were only on if deliberately turned on and this made it difficult to locate the room the first time. It is also dangerous to have the common parts in darkness.

From an experienced European Tourist with American Hotel standards: The town of Bayeux is very small,so the hotel is centrally located to restaurants, shops, museums and cathedral. We enjoyed our stay, I am suprised it is not a 4 * hotel. Great bathroom space, rooms spacious, bed comfy, staff knowledgable and organized for tour bookings, food and bar area very good and most important an elevator. Price GREAT! This is a best western chain, not indicated on this website. We will stay there again!
