Very nice location with no expensive price

Luxurious hotel, gorgeous gardens and swimming pool. Rooms are very comfortable and houskeeping excellent. Don't miss the doll museum in Angera castle and a trip on the lake to Locarno (CH). But, about hotel services ... see below

Very nice **** hotel, chic, clean, perfect swimming pool, well located. Breakfast is expensive and not included but might be taken in an bar front to the lake. Perfect

Far and away the best hotel we have stayed in in the Lago Maggiore region

L'hôtel est trés agréable mais il y a un gros problème de sonorisation dans la chambre que nous avons eue. nous entendions les enfants de la chambre voisine comme s'ils étaient dans notre chambre et la machinerie de l'ascenseur était trés bruyante. donc s'assurer de ne pas avoir une chambre prés de l'ascenseur et sans voisins pour les suites duplex

A fantastic hotel with great facilities and very helpful staff. It felt extremely luxurious and good value for money. I can't fault it. You have use of the Dino's facilities too, which also has an outdoor pool, and an additional indoor pool.

We stayed for 4 nights in July 07. The hotel is immaculate and the facilities available there and those at the Hotel Dino next door (which can be used by Simplon guests) are excellent. The double romm was on the side of the building and was quite small and there was some road noise. Breakfasts were good but B&B guests are second class citizens as half-borad guests are given the window tables!

You have your bags carried to your room and you are escorted to your table for breakfast. Lovely hotel if you like this sort of thing. No tea/coffee facilities in room and non-availability of an iron/board i.e. you could pay to have your ironing done.

We found the Simplon to be a very nice hotel. Whilst we requested a view of the lake and this was not given, the room itself was very clean and nicely decorated, as was the whole hotel. I would say that this hotel is heading for 5-star rating. We did have to ask room service to re-arrange the two single beds into one large bed after the first night as we DID originally book a double room and this was handled with no-fuss, as were all enquiries. The swimming pool area was very nice, although there is a small public road behing it which sometimes had scooters etc driving up and down. Also by the pool area the decking can get extremely hot so it's wise to keep some kind of footwear on. The town of Baveno itself is welcoming and very nice, perfect for a quiet getaway. The hotel is literally a couple of minutes walk away.

Ours was a beautiful, newly redone, spacious room [jr. suite.] with a view of the pool and lake. I was disappointed that the hotel was not on the lake. Rooms facing the street may be a little noisy, but our room was very quiet since there are rolling shutters and double insulated windows. Dinner was relatively expensive, and we were disappointed in the lake fish which was served with brown gravy over it. Otherwise this was an excellent hotel, so nice that we thought about extending our stay for another day.

Really enjoyed our time at Simplon which was, no doubt, helped by a free upgrade to a room with a Lake view. They have just completed a major upgrade of the entire hotel and everything is brand new and very luxurious. We had one evening meal in the hotel which seemed overpriced compared to the local restaurants of which there are many. Apart from that we have no complaints and we would go back tomorrow!

Supplément de 30 € pour chambre avec vue, sinon sur la rue, bruit+++ belle chambre, belle piscine appréciée un repas pris au restaurant : très cher (35 € menu 1/2 pension), pour une cuisine tout à fait ordinaire pour un hotel 4 étoiles ! très belle salle de restaurant bon petit déjeuner

Good quality hotel close to the centre of Baveno. An underground tunnel links the Simplon to the Dino Hotel and guests are able to use facilities including the indoor pool.
