We caught the bus from the main station to Spalentor which is named after one of the ancient gateways to the old city nearby. Location was excellent and easy walking distance into the old city. This lovely boutique hotel suited us well and included a Continental breakfast. Our room was spacious and well appointed and on the quiet side of the hotel facing the little garden. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Free local transport card was a bonus.

Somos una pareja joven que visitó Basilea el pasado mes de agosto y el hotel Spalentor ha formado parte de nuestras espléndidas vacaciones. This was the third time we have stayed at Spalentor, because it's an excellent hotel in an ideal location for the City Centre. The breakfasts are particularly good!

This was our second stay at Spalentor, and it was just as good as our first! It is in an excellent location on the edge of the historic city centre, only 5-10 minutes walk from the very heart. The rooms are clean & spacious, and immaculately maintained. We particularly enjoy the breakfasts, which offer great variety, in a delightful setting overlooking Spalentor. The staff are always & helpful.

This was a delightful hotel, in a excellent location on the edge of the city centre. The breakfasts were first-class, one of the best we have had in a European hotel! The only downside was we asked for a non-smoking room, but this wasn't what we were allocated.

The hotel offers 32 stylish double and 8 single rooms, all featuring an ensuite bathroom with hairdryer.The comfortable and spacious rooms are also equipped with coffee/tea maker, ISDN and Wi-Fi Internet access, modem access, direct dial phone, safe, radio, cable TV and DVD player as well as bathrobe and slippers. Furthermore, guests can borrow DVDs and bikes for free.
Some special rooms are dedicated exclusively to women. These elegantly furnished rooms come with everything a lady expects from a pleasant stay in a hotel.
