We booked our room months in advance. When we arrived at 11:30 PM, the room they had for us was without air conditioning (on a very hot night)and on a very noisy corner with motorbikes roaring up and down all night. Additionally, the fridge was broken-- the juice and water were actually hotter than room temp, the toilet flushing apparatus was broken (and no one was available to fix it, so we had to remove the back of the tank ourselves and use a hand towel to yank the slimey chain that would lift the rubber stopper to flush the toilet). No effort was made to compensate us in anyway for such unsatisfactory conditions, and when we asked the manager, she would not consider reducing our rate of 250 Euros a night for the sub-standard accomodations we were offered. If you have an option to stay anywhere else in Bari, take it-- even if it's the train station several blocks away. We got almost no sleep, had to manage the broken toilet all night, and listen to the roar of motorbikes all while sticky and sweating all night in a non-air conditioned room-, with nothing cool to drink- and for this we had the priviledge of paying 250 Euros! What a rip-off!

This is a business man's hotel. It was fine but lacked character. And it was rather expensive. But it is clean and the service is very good. If you are traveling by train and want to visit the area it is walking distance from the train station. We rented the Cinque Cento from the hotel (which was expensive) to explore the area for a day. We drove to Alberobello, Locorotondo and Martina Franca, all very nice towns to visit. Our next visit to Puglia will be in a car so that we can stay out in the smaller towns and see more.
